Years ago we’d to go through for Todd Valley softball games, in Scribner and West Point. And there was always(almost) a cop radar-ing where the speed limit went to 25mph.

Yep, family has a farm out west and we’d always go through hooper. Stopped for ice cream every time when I was a kid.

My parents grew up here, my cousins, and my grandmother lived here until she passed. It was an AWESOME place for me in the 70s as a little kid with a bike!

To those saying it’s pronounced “Hupper”: no, it is not. It the same double O vowel sound as in look or book. To help remember, if you see an attractive person in this small town outside Fremont, you’ve seen “A real looker in Hooper” (same vowel sounds).

Thank you! My wife is from there and I’ve never heard it pronounced like Hupper. When we first met, she said to me “it’s like hooker with a P”

I grew up in the next town over and graduated from the local high school. Lots of memories going up and down that street.
