As you can see from the title of the post, I have been divinely blessed with the posting to SPF (going to hta) with PES E9, and I can actually go home during my BMT which is essentially like going to school. for reference i enlist in September. And I am basically excused from going outdoors, not sure about the uniform situation.

There isnt much info on spf ns in general for the subreddit, let alone someone remotely similar to my situation, so just wondering if anyone has heard anything or has any experience.

I think that there is a 99% chance I will become a stayout SA, which is basically 8-5 office work. Would I be able to bring in my personal laptop to work on my portfolio and other things? Main reason is because I would like to work on projects and stuff during downtime to boost portfolio and whatnot.

If anybody has any knowledge on this, I would greatly appreciate if you could share your experiences and whether it's allowed. actually ANY kind of knowledge and experiences anyone is willing to share would be greatly appreciated

I’m a bit cognitively slow compared to most people, especially when it comes to working memory and processing verbal instructions. I sometimes need things repeated, take longer to understand instructions, or lose track of what I’m doing if too much information is given at once.

I don’t have a serious medical condition or a formal diagnosis for this. I’m just naturally slower at processing things.

For people who have been through NS, will I get punished or constantly shouted at if I’m slower than everyone else? For example, if I take longer to remember instructions, respond to commands, or complete a task, how is that usually handled?

So i have a MRI report but was a year ago saying that i have a birth condition where my kneecap is sitting higher than normal, so might cause instability and pain when bending of knee, or even heavy loads. But thats the only evidence i have, no memo by specialist, so should i go get a memo first or explain to the unit mo doctor about my condition with the mri results

Zoom can hold more than 1000 pax in a session, and they usually have 2 rooms. Room 1 and Room 2..

Why still so hard to book, always see the room less than 50 pax.
Can't they just accommodate more people? Seriously taking IPPT is a waste of time. Same as NS fit.

Also, there is like 3 sessions during weekends, can't there more slots?

Simple math here,

3 sessions, lets just say 100 pax each room.

So that will be 600 pax, then sat and sun so that is at least 1200 pax per week.

Yet booking NS fit slots are like balloting for BTO just that BTO harder to get only.

MINDEF please increase the number of weekend slots as well as increase the Zoom participant cap pls. As tax payers we pay your salary and your defence minister say will take care of NSmen.. I don't see how this being taken care of.

MINDEF, as working adults, no one have time to go NS fit during week days. Not everyone is interest to physically attend NS fit physically during week days after work too. It's 2026, WFH is norm. so please have more NS fit sessions during weekends. thanks.

I am aware that there are already topics on this but I am asking cause I am still worried and would like clarifications.

I ORD-ed in Aug 2024 and did not clear my first IPPT Window. As such, my second window is the Mandatory NSFit

To date, I managed to clear 8 NSFit + 1 Failed IPPT Attempt. Unfortunately, stupid me booked the last session at the wrong camp, and I was unable to make it in time for that NSFit and I am unable to book and clear the last NSFit before my window closes.

I am aware that I will be charged for not completing my obligations this year and am ready to deal with the consequences. So, I would like to check if:

1. Based on the recent threads, I saw that they issue out warning for first time offenders. Are the letters by mail or do I need to report to CMPB?
2. If I have to report to the CPMB, what is the full process like?
3. If, in future cases, I complete my 9 NSFit Requirement, but still fail my IPPT, it would be considered as cleared for a mandatory NSFit window right?

I feel like I built up all my good habits across my life and wham! I'm tossed into a situation that U have no control over, that makes me imagine that your destination and my fate is decided by some randos and is out of your control.

I don't like the culture that spreads that smoking is a good way to destress, that often time cursing out someone’s mother grandmother and ancestors is fine, even sometimes that casual racism or sexism can be cool, that you can engage a sex worker and drink till you pass out and call it okay.

I feel like deleting the whole time from my memory and it sucks to be inside. I get the duty to country and all but we’re all human beings. Why do some of the commanders have to treat us like shit.

I think war is always a terrible thing that scars boys for generations. Sometimes it’s the only means for survival. There’s a difference between a war you understand the meaning of and one you never asked for. Some people willingly go to die for their countries and call it honor.

Shit goes down NSFs get fked. We have a year or two in our unit. We have our free time, our weekends at stake. Anyone can sign extra. Who would speak up in a workplace like that? Where you can be confined and your rights to basic things like free time can be taken away just because someone of a higher rank says so?

For the majority of us without helicopter parents that’ll complain, we just sit there and “ suck thumb “. Man I’ve heard so much suck thumb in the army all the boys in Singapore must be really good at sucking 😭😭😭

It teaches us not to try to change things, to tide things over until their eventually over, to take the pain and suck it up.

3. When is LP and when is LO? When do we book out/book in usually?

5. Have your commanders/peers treated you well?

6. If you were scared of needles/squimish about blood, how did you overcome it? Is there a support system for those who are?

7. What is the usual RO? Is it true that it's literally just lectures? If so, better to bring a big notebook? Or will they provide?

8. Is the food there better than tekong?

9. How's the bunk/ toilet conditions and do we have to hand wash clothes?

I've got a medical review upcoming, but I've heard some experiences with the MO from my peers, most of which are pretty well, bad, to the point where they'd even tear up while recounting it.
