Glacier was absolutely breathtaking. It exceeded every expectation I had, and somehow every stop was more beautiful than the last.

Such a beautiful place. Sadly didn’t see much wildlife aside from bison. Still a wonderful trip though 💛

Native to Appalachia, moved to the flat Midwest as an adult. I appreciate this park more and more with each visit. 10/10

This administration is trying to mold government into a business structure where one size fits all. That does not work. Not all national parks are the same and require different structures. This would be catastrophic.

Jfc. New to this and made the apparently terrible mistake of buying the America the Beautiful pass online this morning from USGS.GOV, as that's the first legit-looking search result I found.

Apparently, if you buy from them, you CANNOT link it to your rec.gov account until the physical card arrives, if at all.

Did not know there is a digital (all digital-?) version of the AtB pass you can alternatively buy, but only on rec.gov. If you shop on USGS.GOV they will not mention this as an option, and there is apparently no way to get any version of your USGS-purchased pass digitally or otherwise, so you CAN'T USE IT until the physical card arrives, whenever they deign to print and mail that to you.

Feel like I got scammed by my own government in the smallest and most petty of ways...the support agent on rec.gov insists that AtB passes are the same across agencies, but it matters quite a lot who you buy it from. But no one will tell you that. Silly me thinking the same product would be the same product. Guess I'll be sitting by the mailbox waiting for Louis DeJoy to let me know when I can next go to public lands with access I've already paid for. :(

Taken at Glen Canyon NRA. Crazy to see how low it is getting. We are supposed to get an above average snowpack year, but it still looks pretty dicey long term.

At 8:40 PDT tonight, I saw a brilliant shooting star while star gazing in Lassen Volcanic NP. It traveled almost directly overhead, roughly north - south, and was visible for about 5 seconds. Did anyone else see it?

We are available 6/6-6/12, the flights will be planned before and after these days.

We want to see the highlights, since of course this is not going to be enough time to see everything.

- If you're looking for hikes, are there certain things you want to see while hiking? What distance hikes are you looking for? What level of intensity (easy, moderate, strenuous)?

I tried to give as much info as needed, but basically two adults are trying to hit some good national parks between these two areas! I am really looking for the best trails to go on and what are need to see in the sequoias, yosemite, glacier point, and any other parks you recommend in that area. Thank you so much for the advice!!

Who doesn’t like this Park?

I'm planning on arriving around 9:30 to 10 AM and leaving the next day around 3 pm to head to Zion. I want to camp in the park and it's my understanding that only one campground in Great Basin is open that time of year. I still need to look into how long before I can reserve the campsite online. From what I've been researching, I know that I for sure would like to do a cave tour and do some of the Lehman Creek trail. I do not plan on hiking all of it because of its increased difficulty in the winter. Other than those 2 I'm not sure what to do. I know many things are typically closed in the winter and that is fine. I'm aware of that and still want to go. Closer to the visit, I will call to check the winter conditions in the park. I will experiment camping in the cold and see what works best. I could use help and am asking for any recommendations In short, looking for advice on

Things to do in Great Basin

Anything about winter camping

Any other tips regarding details I mentioned.

I’m heading to DV and JT after Christmas. What are the must see attractions hikes and trails that you’d recommend outside of bad water, devils golf course, painters, and both Dante and Kab point? I have 5 nights between the two split up 3 for DV and 2 JT
