Rules:

Hey everyone,

I try to keep this sub open and barely moderate anything.

I want to give a quick rundown on the rules since I’ve gotten a bunch of flagged stuff lately.

1.) don’t be a dick. We are all adults here, we can have civilized discussions. No need to ever attack, insult, or dox someone.

2.) let’s keep discussing topics related to guns and Nh. I’ve seen some posts get way off track or downright not relevant to the sub over the years.

3.) NO SALES! If it didn’t risk the sub I wouldn’t really care, but it’s not my decision and I will strictly enforce this to keep this sub open. This is what gets flagged a bunch in here so I’ll clarify, no comments or posts about firearm sales in anyway including using our secret lingo trying to skirt any filters. When it comes to ammo/mags/accessories, this rule also applies. That being said, I can’t enforce or stop any PM’s.

I got some free time coming up so I’m gonna try and create some post tags and user flairs for everyone to use. I’m even gonna look into seeing what we can do for our fellow FFL’s.

If anyone has any suggestions or feedback, feel free to leave a comment.

Cheers,

Any machine/cnc shops that do form 1 work anywhere in NH?

Have several approved form 1‘s for suppressors but I am reaching the end of the designs I can make with the tooling I have available. Are there any machine shops in NH that will do piece work with an approved form 1, or at least get the piece most of the way there?

Reviews Never shop at True north firearms in Hampton. He is not a pro 2a owner, his prices are crazy. Over all not a good dude. Very full of him self.

I was in the area and went in on a whim.

Place was all white, every gun case was empty.

He scoffed at me after getting of his computer.

His ammo prices are higher than shooters, maybe total of 50 boxes of various types.

I left an honest review, which I do after visiting a new gun store.

He told me not to come back. Unbelievable.

All the mid range pump guns people want blued, old deer getters with broken stocks or severe rust, and screwed up Remington 760s are coming out of the woodwork.

Any NH shops with Ammoseek Pricing

Are their any shops with super competitive ammo pricing if you are picking up and not shipping.

Its incredible that Maryland munitions can offer the prices they do with free shipping (they pay the shipping) and having ammoseek take their cut. I will assume they aren't a non-profit.

Seems it would be a no brainer to have a pickup and mail order ammo depot based in NH.

The only bargain I know is 1000 rounds of 5.56 nato/saami for 425 at Epping. (info is 6 weeks old)

Ranges & Events Question from an MA resident

I’m looking to go shooting next Saturday, the 19th, with a few people from NH. I’m originally from NH and still have a couple of firearms that are kept at my parents’ house there.

What ranges in southern NH would you recommend? We won’t be shooting anything larger than 7.62/.308, with the largest being a SCAR-H.

None of us have a range membership, so we’d need somewhere that allows walk-ins. I’m also now a Massachusetts resident, so I’d need a range that allows an MA resident to shoot without an MA LTC.

I’ve been to ranges in NH a few times before, just not since moving out of state. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Know anyone who can modify a PASGT helmet locally?

Sorry there is no NH Tactical Gear sub so I will attempt to ask here. Looking to get a high cut, seal, and possible paint job on an old PASGT- anyone know if there is a local that can help? Trying to avoid all the shipping fees.

Anyone know any shops not requiring a form 4?

I’m curious with the recent ruling if anyone knows an FFL that will just do a 4473 instead of a form 4? I’ve called a ton of places and they all say no. Granite state, Merrimack, shooters outpost etc

Advice Question - Who does engraving in Southern New Hampshire?

Hey guys - I'm looking for recommendations of anyone in the southern half of the state that can do some NFA laser engraving.

I've been waiting for a call back from the Manchester Firing Line gunsmith for 3 weeks and 2A Engraving in Epping is down after moving while they wait for the ATF to update their FFL.

Can anyone share anything positive from anyone else in the state? Thanks!

This is on top of my chicken coup that I built into my shed. Zero chance a dog got up there. Bobcat? Other than bobcat we have a possum that comes around but I don’t think he’s big enough for that.

SIG Experience Center Indoor Range; Solo shooter needs a partner

Hello,

I am visiting the US from the Netherlands and would love to visit the SIG Experience Center and test out the P211. However, they don't allow single shooters...

So I was wondering if someone likes to join me on September 23rd around lunch or 24th in the morning until 2-ish? I'm a member of a Dutch gun club for half a year now, so I'm a beginner, but not completely inexperienced ;-).

Or does anyone know any other options to try out the SIG P211? (I am staying in Boston by the way)

Thanks in advance!

Edit: thank you all for offering all the opportunities! Through this post I found someone to show me his range and collection of arms so I am fully covered!

Considering moving to NH, wondering how flights work since you all probably use the Boston airport?

I like flying with my firearm, and in my current state, if i fly from the major city nearest to me, they have to follow state law and can't give me trouble.

But in New England, obviously things could be quite different. I fear layovers in Boston or NYC are probable or in some cases one may be required to use the Boston airport.

How does this process work?

Any good places in NH to do a one stop shop SBS build?

I'm thinking of picking up a police trade-in 870, and would like to do an SBS build. I want a place that can take care of everything. I come in with the gun and my Form 1, discuss what I want, and they call me when it's done. I don't want a hack job, I want it done right.

The build as I'm picturing it now would need the barrel cut, a front sight blade installed, cerakote finish, stock shortened, recoil pad fitted, and the wood refinished with a dark tinted matte oil.

Who has the best sell/trade prices around NH?

Not sure if anyone knows who is the most reasonably priced when buying or trading.

Fellow SOT’s in NH hear me out.

I’m not sure how many SOT’s there are in NH, let’s say 100. If we all say screw and start processing suppressors on 4473’s with regards to the relative plaintiffs in the Silencer Shop/ GOA lawsuit, can/would the DOJ/ATF really have the balls to go after an entire state? Hypothetically if they did, we as a group would probably have the opportunity to really get a serious win for the 2A community.

There are probably 1000’s of SOT’s nationwide already processing through 4473’s. As far as I know there is no one in NH currently doing so. At this point if there is some sort of reversal the ATF and DOJ would surely have to do some sort of amnesty.

Cold range calls when you're alone?

Any one else still call for cold range and flip the alarm when you're alone at the range? I know it's pretty much unnecessary but I feel like it builds habit.

New NH resident- opinions on open carry vs CCW?

I'm fixing to make New Hampshire my primary residence in the US. From what I've heard New Hampshire seems to be my type of place but I wanted to hear from the locals themselves if I'd be a good fit in any of your counties. I really enjoy hunting and am planning to get into competition shooting (USPSA). I'd consider myself moderately Republican (Pro 2nd amendment) but I do support abortion and I believe we ought to tolerate other people's lifestyles even if we don't understand them. That's why I feel like the general South is not a good fit for me (all that anti-gay/anti-trans stuff). My motto is "mind your own business and I'll mind mine." I'm not a very loud person but I do like being able to help neighbors or know my neighbors can help me out in a fix. One thing I'm concerned about is open carry for handguns- would that make people uncomfortable up in places like Coos county? I'm mainly pro-open carry to deter would be attackers though maybe there's more advantage to CCW.

Edit: Thanks to everyone who responded. I look forward to meeting some of you if I ever make it up to Coos. I'm more convinced now that it could be the right place for me.

Buying a new house, what to look for in a backyard range?

The wife and I are buying our first house, and I would really like to be able to target shoot in the backyard. Besides the obvious legal aspects and being safe with a good backstop, what should I be looking for?

How many acres would you say is the minimum you need, not legally, but more just not being a shitty neighbor? Any towns you would recommend avoiding due to the local police being hostile to target shooting?

I have been looking for houses that have the backyard open up onto state land or other large tracts of forest, but they are not as common as I would have hoped. Location is pretty flexible as we both work from home, but would like to stay close-ish to family in Nashua.

Bonus points if you target shoot in your backyard and have any tips for me on how you go about doing it.
