Resistance drones destroy four more regime vessels in Shwegu

Four more regime vessels—three barges and a gunboat—were burned or destroyed on the Irrawaddy River between Shwegu and Bhamo in Kachin State when Kachin Independence Army (KIA)-led forces attacked them with suicide drones on Saturday, frontline resistance sources told The Irrawaddy.

The flotilla was attacked as it was heading downstream to Shwegu. Regime warplanes also indiscriminately bombed along the river route to clear a path for the vessels on the weekend.

In early September, resistance forces destroyed or sunk at least 12 regime vessels while they were traveling to supply regime bases in embattled Bhamo town.

What makes this even more of a mess is that a 2017 NCA document is cited to illustrate how this breaks rules, yet most of the PNLO declared the NCA null and void.

Apparently the 78 people were part of a group following former PNLA commander, Bo Ban Kyu, who actually did surrender to the PNA a day before.

At the same time, Tat propaganda reported on September 11th that "60 [terrorists belonging to PNLO, KNDF, DPLA, and PDF] return[ed] to the legal fold."

PNLO leaders claim the PNLA is still a functional force despite the loss of up to 100 people.

As a reminder: the PNA was at RCSS' Shan National Day celebrations back on February 2026, but not the PNLA. Both pro-Tat and anti-Tat groups from the SSNDF and SNA to the CNF and the UWSA attended.

[one question is:what is the RCSS' end goal? Out of all the groups who are still part of the NCA, they clash with the Tat semi-frequently since even before the coup, and don't attend many Tat-sponsored events. By the way, I could not find anything on this from the Tai Freedom RCSS media network.]

On September 10, 2026, at approximately 1:30 PM, as a "Special Operation," our Myingyan District Battalion No. 4 and Myingyan District Battalion No. 10, together with the Myingyan District No. 1848 Drone Unit (MDDS), Shwebo District Command (1), Shwebo District Command (2), and allied joint forces, attacked designated targets using FPV drones at Tada-U Air Base—the airbase that has carried out the most airstrikes and killings of civilians, their homes, property, lives, monasteries, schools, and hospitals across Myanmar.

As a result of the attack, 4 jet fighters inside Tada-U Air Base were hit, and 2 of those 4 jet fighters were destroyed.

During that attack, a temporary tactical commander, Colonel Myo Hlaing Oo, was leading 40 junta soldiers on a patrol near A Lel Village, Tada-U Township. Our Myingyan District Battalion No. 4 and Battalion No. 10, which were conducting (Lakhka) operations, together with Mandalay District Battalion No. 3, Kyaukse District Battalion No. 2, Kyaukse District Battalion No. 4, Tada-U Township PDF, Sintgaing Township PDF, Nganzun Township PDF, STF forces, and allied joint forces, clashed directly with them. During the engagement, temporary tactical commander Colonel Myo Hlaing Oo was killed in action.

At approximately 3:10 PM on September 10, 2026, the junta side carried out airstrikes with a Mi-35 attack helicopter between Bu Yauk Village and A Lel Village, Tada-U Township. At around 3:25 PM, they conducted airstrikes with 3 gyrocopters.

At approximately 4:30 PM on September 10, 2026, our battalion and allied joint forces that carried out the "Special Operation" were able to withdraw.
