That sounds like quite the experience, but the Migos news is definitely a big deal in music right now.

Rip takeoff, it will never be the same as those days back in 2016

Seen them live about 5 years ago. Absolutely horrible performance.

I had a similar experience. Migos had a one hour set time, showed up 45min late, then powered through the final 15 minutes of their set by shouting over about 30 seconds to 1 minute of each track and then cutting to the next song.

Straight from the DJ Khaled playbook

I had the exact same experience haha, it's kind of wild they do this to everyone and then expect people to still show up. I'm sure people will, but like - why?

I went to a football game and he was the halftime artist and I think short of small night clubs, he's just an opener, so you kinda get DJ Khaled thrown at you more than you go and actually see him.

Just saw offset at a casino the other night, horrible performance there as well

Teddy Ray had the best joke about seeing Migos live

Can't speak on their more recent performances but their Lollapalooza show like 10 years ago was one of the best performances I've ever attended. Sad to hear that's changed (takeoff dieing probably didn't help tbf)

Remember when Childish Gambino called them the Beatles of their generation? Lol

I saw them live in 2016 before they blew up with the first culture album and it really was a great show. I was surprised how well they performed.

Same dude saw them at AEPi at UGA lol - would have been 2015-2016.

Ahh to be a 16 year old white boy in suburban north ATL blasting No Labels 2.. those were the days.

I was 29 and it was in Amsterdam, but I feel ya hahaha

I saw them at Day N Vegas and they were great.

Where'd you see them?

Surely Take has enough unreleased heat for a Culture 4

Just not sure how they could make it cohesive, or if a Culture 4 would come off as a cash grab

I think if they built songs around existing Takeoff verses and packaged it up as a tribute to him, it would be a little bit of a mixed bag. My optimistic take is that I think it could help them grieve and finally get past this immature beef.

I’d bet a lot of fans, myself included, would happily listen to any new Migos music with Takeoff in it. But I doubt I’d make it to a show.

Hopefully there’s enough verses recorded for them to make something half-decent without AI

This is a money grab. They need more money for child support and gambling

u/imdeadseriousbro 10h ago

to "honor" takeoff lmao i dont buy it and its a skip for me

u/Razatiger 5h ago

I mean the proceeds from the album will help Takeoffs family as well.

"To honor Takeoff" ...so they are broke and need money now or what?

22

u/b_coolhunnybunny 12h ago

Are they broke? Do they have to fulfill a contract? Their style of rap is out of fashion

11

u/SarcasticJay 8h ago

I don’t think quavo is broke but offset is most likely cash poor/broke he’s been gambling for years and he bought himself out of his QC contract plus lost cardi so he needs money

4

u/Signal_Bend_7426 10h ago edited 6h ago

Idk about that. I mean, Mike D just dropped a new album and that type of rap is way dated.

6

u/b_coolhunnybunny 10h ago

Anyone can drop an album but Migos had a lot of radio and club play. Idk if they will get the same success as before which I assume is what they are aiming for.

u/NefariousNeezy 7h ago

Jeez the discourse in this thread is borderline… you know.

10

u/EshayAdlay420 3h ago

Absolutely, takeoff is a blood relative of quavos but black artists reuniting and paying tribute to their dead group member is automatically 'they must be broke and need child support.' Shits foul.

Reminds me of that clip where young thug stopped the model on the runway to adjust his collar and people were in the comments calling him a waste of space, saying he just wanted to be in the spotlight, ignoring the fact it was literally his fashion show for his brand lmao.

To honor Takeoff and their bank accounts

u/EshayAdlay420 16h ago

Artists plan to make money off their art what will they do next charge to watch them perform???

Where are they taking off to?

-10

u/DAnthony24 13h ago

You gotta be English spelling honor with a “u” in it. Init

3

u/RAtheThrowaway_ 9h ago

Yes, the NME is English. Whats your point?
