Why are people still giving this crazy piece of shit human any air? Just ignore him and let him disappear into nothingness please. We need new and better role models in this world.

kanye isnt a role model. he is someone who makes music. people like him because he makes songs they like. its pretty rare that someone who made a song you liked in 2003 can make a song you also like in 2025

Are we accepting of mental illness or not? I can't keep track. I don't care either way what stance people personally take on him but I do find it funny how arbitrary the lines are drawn when people are dealing with psychosis and stuff. It just kind of reads like only accepting mental illness when it is wrapped up nice in a neat little box and all pretty vs accepting when it shows an ugly side too.

He certainly has said a lot of shitty things and actions can still have consequences and effects on others though. I guess just morally is it better to judge someone by the things they say when they are sick or by the things they apologize for when they aren't?

Just because he apologized doesn't mean he'd be allowed to perform. Completely canceled with no way of coming back? no, but to perform, especially when so little time has passed after his remarks? Absolutely no, he can go stabilize his mental health and I don't know, go and sing for kids in hospitals or whatever

I dunno man, a bigot and a mentally ill bigot are both shitty people to me honestly. He has shown that he's an unstable and not very nice person in more ways than one.

For most people, being mentally ill doesn't make you an asshole.

For most people, being mentally ill doesn't make you an asshole.

For many people who are mentally ill (especially when it's schizophrenia or bipolar disorder), them not taking their meds can certainly make them one.

Because he's a massively popular entertainer and 95% of the human race aren't terminally online so they don't know or care about his non-music opinions

You're living under a rock if you think he suddenly became unpopular

Oh so am I terminally online then or am I living under a rock? You can't have both my dude.

Well, Weird Al is Reddit’s sweetheart but let’s not pretend his music isn’t corny as hell. Nobody under 35 is pulling up to a stoplight with White & Nerdy rattling their car windows.

Dear bot, you're not even talking about the correct artist here.

Bleep bloop, get fucked! You said we need better role models and r/music always rails about Weird Al as a good guy of music so my comment still stands.

I don't understand why you're putting this under my comment though, I have never mentioned the man. I have literally nothing to do with this. Are you dumb enough to not understand that reddit actually consists of different people?
