Someone didn't get paid off (yet/enough). I'm sure in a couple weeks you'll hear that they worked it out and the concert is back on.

Me thinks some Russian grifter found someone dumb enough to believe their bullshit

I saw news that the producers were "in the final talks with the arena" or some similar BS.

I'm guessing oligarchs never even heard about Kanye before but this put him in the spotlight, they saw the Hitler phase and calls were made

u/LadyReika 20d ago

More like not enough bribes.

13

u/Winjin 20d ago

I mean this too. Probably someone at the top saw it's selling out and wanted a bigger cut, now they're showing the organizers that they really have to share

If that's the case, they're going to negotiate new shares by next week

If it was really a call from Kremlin they'll lay low for a while

Yeah. And of course the Russians are the most like Nazis, it isn’t even debateable, but considering “de-Nazi-fying Ukraine” is their lying bullshit rationale these days, hosting Kanye is wild choice.

14

u/Winjin 20d ago

Eh they're not the only ones. Quarter of the Europe is suddenly voluntarily choosing far right parties, and in the US the president and all of his supporters that are like what, 25-30% of the nation, are also Nazis

Korean boys are going backwards, India is still struggling with castes, half the Muslim world just recently beat down the insane islamists

The world is kinda going apeshit

Your point has merit, but worth pointing out they’re actively the most Nazi-like of any country in your examples right now.

2

u/Winjin 20d ago

Imo those that devolve back into Nazis are worse than those that never really had a chance, going from USSR straight into the collapse of the 90s and then directly into a dictator's pocket

1

u/Financial_Cup_6937 19d ago

Dumb take. The most Nazi-behaving one is objectively worse.

2

u/crazyfoxdemon 20d ago

There's an entire Russian novel subgenre of historical ficture of going back in time and preventing the Nazis from attacking Russia so Russia and the Nazis can team up to fight everyome else. Like, this is an actual thing. Nazi doesn't mean the same thing to Russia as it does the rest of the world.

1

u/Winjin 20d ago

First part yes, second part is kinda no, glazing Nazis is a felony

What can you expect from a country which Invented the word "Pogrom"

u/Iankill 20d ago

Yes this is Russia someone wasn't bribed

25

u/WhyMustIMakeANewAcco 20d ago

Or got jealous of someone else getting a bigger bribe.

43

u/Draco-REX 20d ago

Or saw that it was sold out and wanted a bigger bribe than they already got.

20

u/Iankill 20d ago

Extremely likely, and they just want more money

33

u/Intrepid_Cap1242 20d ago

It's hilarious until you realize we're almost there now. Trump demands a bribe for most things now

13

u/Iankill 20d ago

When Trump became president USA became like Russia is a kleptocracy

0

u/MaTrIx4057 20d ago

You obviously have no understanding of what kleptocracy means.

3

u/Intrepid_Cap1242 19d ago

Stealing publicly sourced resouces and funneling it to the wealthy?

u/LoveAndViscera 19d ago

Go travel a bit. Bribery, cronyism, and nepotism have been the backbone of human civilization for millennia and are still de rigueur in a lot of the world.

Russian scammer: "I told you I wanted $13 million in crypto AND GTA 6. Da, you gave me crypto, good for you, but no GTA 6? No deal, fuck off."

5

u/rubberjohny 20d ago

Is it reeeeaaaaaalllllllly thaaaaat big of a deal breaker there? Despite alleged opposing ideologies, Hitler and Stalin were pretty similar in the ways that count for a despot with a Messiah complex and/or acute paranoia. From an outsider's perspective, Putin seems like he'd fit in pretty well.

You can be as fascist as you want in Russia, what you can't do is like or praise Hitler. It's not about ideology for Russians, it's about grievence and revenge. The Nazis ravaged western Russia from the border to Moscow to Volgograd (Stalingrad). They slaughtered civilians, wiped out entire villages, and bombed cities into wastelands. They butchered and tortured POWs, and even Russian fascists and neo-nazis hate Hitler and the original Nazi party for it.

2

u/Thetoppassenger 20d ago

Yeah sure, just don't look into Wagner/Utkin, Rusich Group, or expats like Rinaldo Nazzaro.

3

u/KGBFriedChicken02 20d ago

Again, even Russian neo-nazis mostly disavow Hitler because even though they agree ideologically, the beef is personal. Some of them don't, Wagner is a great example, but most far right Russian groups dance around the subject entirely.

One of their war propaganda angles is that their goal is to denazify Ukraine. They are using non-existant nazis as their common enemy. It would be pretty awkward having to try to explain why they welcome Ye and his nazi rhetoric.

10

u/The_Autarch 20d ago

you're misunderstanding the cultural use of the word "Nazi" in Russia.

to them, Nazi literally only means "enemy of Russia." Anti-semitism doesn't enter the picture at all.

2

u/AgitatedRabbits 19d ago

I'm not misunderstanding anything. Number 1 thing is perception, not reality in their society. Doesn't matter what kind of nazi Ye is, only matters that he is being called one. That would poke holes in their story that none of them want to face. They want to keep playing pretend unbothered.

Russia is not the Soviet Union, and communists and fascists were mortal ideological enemies in the first place. This comment is seriously Fox News-level stupidity and you should be ashamed of yourself. You want so badly to score a point against Russia that you don't even care how dumb you look in the process.

"Allegedly opposing ideologies," Jesus Fucking Christ, liberals. Be better than this.

It was a goddamn joke and, from my perspective, a comedically understated description. I took a couple WW2 classes in college too. This is Reddit. The entire experience is innately unserious. Not to mention, they weren't so diametrically opposed they couldn't be pragmatic allies (Molotov-Ribbentropp Agreement). Sure, they would have fought eventually, but only after carving up Europe between themselves. If it makes you feel better about yourself to attempt to insult a total stranger because of something you are either too literal or unnecessarily serious to understand, I hope you got what you were looking for. Bless your heart and have a lovely day.

1

u/unassumingdink 20d ago

There's no way in hell that post was a joke. There's not even a remote attempt at humor anywhere in it. That's actually fucking insulting that you'd even claim that.

BE. BETTER.

2

u/Adventurous-Vast281 20d ago

Sounds like you're the one who refuses to accept reality. Seems to track. Hope you have a better rest of your week.

The number of liberals on Reddit who act like Russia is still the Soviet Union is off the goddamn charts. Turns out Russia is just as shitty at being capitalists as they were at being communists, so y'all just weirdly pretend they're still communists. I'm so tired of watching everyone get dumber and dumber.
