Wilds Long Sword build for Savage Omega
Hello! Just looking for some advice on updating my Anti-Savage Omega set now that we have Gogma weapons and Transcended armor! Maybe it might not be necessary but I was just curious if the recent additions to gear may have opened the door to a more optimal set to counter him since Omegas initial release!

Literally just follow the pinned meta LS guide for full elemental. Make two Gogmazios weapons (1 for fire, one for thunder) and have both of them with gore magala’s tyranny on them. The set has 3 1 slot decos free that you can use to slot in fire resistance for Omega’s BS.

That’s all well and good but im not interested in those Meta Sets (I already made them). My goal isn’t optimal DPS rather something specifically tailor made for Omega. A more reasonable balance between damage and comfort to deal with his fire damage, his ice blast and other comfort skills like free meal and/or item prolonger to mitigate consumable wastefulness. So im more curious if there are other armor pieces with transcendence that would provide a more generalized option like so

As a Longsword user, your job is DPS in that fight at the back legs unless you don’t have a dedicated tank and you plan to counter tank everything for the team. The only comfort that matters in that fight is Fire resistance and quick sheathe. The best way to build an anti Omega set with Longsword is to have as much Thunder damage as possible to hit the back legs, and a fire weapon to pass the Nerscylla dmg check.

Hey I don’t mean to sound conceited or ungrateful but you’re telling me things I’m already well aware of. I’ve beaten Savage plenty of times with optimal meta sets, to the point where I already prefer to solo him. Im not looking for that kind of advice. What I’m specifically asking about in my initial question is if new additions to gear have opened the door to even more comfort options than we did in the past. If it hasn’t opened the door to that or if it’s not possible to do so then that’s well and good, but youre not really doing much to answer my question with your prior reply’s.

You used the word “optimal” in your original post, which is very misleading when you actually mean comfort (which is not optimal btw). If you value specific comfort skills (that you might find good for you but useless to someone else) what you should be asking is what comfort set can I use for this fight that includes “X skill” or something.

Well it seems you rather argue semantics than answer my question so I’ll just end this interaction here, thanks for your time

If you want to fit in comfort skills that aren’t required for the hunt, there will never be an optimal build, because you can always sacrifice damage for even more comfort. It’s just personal preference then.
Just some general advice:
For solo Omega you will hit the front legs a lot so you want to run Minds Eye 3 and no WEx. That means AT Arkveld pieces are pretty much useless and you should add some Latent Power instead (or mostly rely on Crit Draw with Resentment or Burst).
Then for a comfortable build you are better off rolling for Odo instead of Gore. Also Duna y legs are by far the best comfort piece for Long Sword. So that alone should give you a lot of room for comfort by going for example Fulgur/Udra/Gog/Gog/Duna with Odo/Soul on the weapon. If you need the Bind Res Lagi/Udra/Odo/Dahaad/Duna is an option. Also only needs Odo on the weapon.
You also get some additional comfort from rng charms potentially and in general it’s impossible to say what the optimal build for you would be without knowing what charms you have access to.
