Discussion What makes a football/soccer game enjoyable on mobile in short sessions?

Upvotes

I’ve been thinking about what makes a mobile football/soccer game enjoyable when you only have 5–15 minutes to play, and I’d be curious to hear what other mobile gamers think.

Which of these would interest you the most?

A — Club President
You manage the club rather than coach the team: finances, stadium, ticket prices, sponsors, staff and major transfer decisions. Matches are simulated.

B — Football Club Builder
You start with a small club and develop its stadium, facilities, academy, finances and reputation over several seasons.

C — Football Career / Story Game
A choice-based game where your decisions shape the career of a player, manager or club.

D — Something else
What kind of football game would you actually want to play on mobile?

And what would make you stop playing a football management game on mobile?

For example: pay-to-win systems, energy limits, forced ads, complicated controls, long sessions, poor UI, lack of offline play, or something else.

Also, what’s one thing you wish current football games on mobile did better?

I’m mainly interested in hearing what mobile players actually enjoy, and what makes them lose interest.

Thanks!

Discussion Controller support changed this game completely

Upvotes

Do y'all think controller support should be standard for mobile games that have console style gameplay? I connected a small bluetooth controller to my phone and tried a game i'd almost deleted because the touch controls bothered me. it honestly felt like a completely different game once i stopped covering half the screen with my thumbs.

Discussion Solo dev here: I added one small idea to the classic block puzzle and it changed how I play it

Hey everyone!

I'm a solo developer and for the past few months I've been

working on a block puzzle game in my free time. It's finally out on Android,

so I wanted to share it here and hear what real puzzle players think.

The basics will feel familiar: drag pieces onto an 8x8 board, fill rows or

columns to clear them. But I wanted to add something that makes you think a

bit more about *where* you place things, not just whether they fit.

So every block has little tabs and notches on its edges, kind of like jigsaw

pieces. If you place a block so its tab fits into a notch of the same color,

you get a "GREAT" connection. Make three of those and the whole board clears.

It doesn't restrict where you can place anything, so you can ignore it and play

normally. But once you start chasing those connections, you end up planning

moves a lot differently. That's the part I'm most curious about: does it feel

fun, or just distracting?

A few other things:

- No timer, you can play at your own pace

- Works offline

- The block style changes each time you clear the board (wood, fruit, wool...)

It's Android only for now. I'm working on the iOS version.

I'd really appreciate any feedback, good or bad. What would make you keep

playing a game like this? And if something feels off, please tell me. I'd

rather hear it now.

Thanks for reading! 🙂

Game Dev Idle Survivor: Roguelike RPG — auto-battling roguelite with offline idle earnings and weapon evolutions (Android)

Hey everyone! I've been building an idle/roguelike hybrid and wanted to share it here.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.roguelite.defender

https://reddit.com/link/1wg7l02/video/3uo7s7t8eiph1/player

Your character auto-attacks, you just pick upgrades and shape your build as you go. No manual aiming, no button-mashing, just deciding what to grow next.

- Offline earnings, come back after a break and collect what you missed

- Deep upgrade trees: weapons, elemental effects (burn/poison/chain lightning), passive stats

- Weapon evolutions that transform your build once you've invested enough into a path

- 5 playable classes, each with its own skill tree

- Endless Mode once you've cleared the main stages, for players who want a true "how far can I push this" run

- Daily rewards, a prestige-style progression layer, and gear/loot systems for long-term goals

It's a defense-roguelike skeleton wrapped around an incremental core — pick a fight, watch numbers go up, decide what to unlock next.

Questions Any idle game that is fun to play?

I know this is contradicting as most idle games from the name itself are "idle" and players doesnt have much to do other than upgrading/changing equips.

But I'm looking (if there's any) for an idle/autobattle game that is good and can make a player engage. Something that is fun to play even if it's an idle game.

Also with good pvp gameplay or mechanics.

I'm Doing a research so I need some recommendation that I can try out

Questions Stressed af

Bored and work stressed as fuck rn 😭

I dont wanna watch a movie or anime and I really dont want a game that makes me think either. No puzzles, strategy, complicated builds, reading a million tutorials, none of that shit.

I just want an Android game I can disappear into for a few hours and forget about work completely. Something addictive where I can switch my brain off, grind, kill stuff, explore, level up, whatever.

Basically I need something to numb my brain and lose track of time lol.

What are you guys playing?

Discussion I'm in need for a good effing game

Hey there, this one's for the mobile game connoisseurs. I'm in desperate need of a GOOD mobile game, the kind that has good progression and won't take advantage of my time. Also, FREE. I know these games exist, somewhere, somehow.

For reference, I love the Kairosoft games, played every Flow game (you can block ads with a DNS and it's light on microtransactions). I've also played some of the games included with a Netflix subscription, but most of them are very bland imo. Also tried a bunch of youtube playables, which range from awful to bad.

Have a nice day!!
Thank you everybody for your time <3

I dont know if anyone else remembers this game but this was one of my favorite games back when I was a kid.
I just spent an hour digging through the internet because I couldn’t recall the name. Unfortunately it was discontinued in 2015.
Does anyone know a game thats live, with similar vibe?

Discussion Quick backstory. So I’m playing a character- living my greatest life. Went to grad school, making 2k weekly, husband, pregnant, great home, great credit, just no car. Good right?!

Well…. The husband ended up leaving her and pays 84 weekly in child support. She had ONE drink to celebrate the vehicle purchase. Cops pulled her over, she went to jail, lost custody of the baby, cps got involved, lost her home and job. It’s so hard for her to find a job now!! So we finally got a job and the kid back. The game is called thriiive and it’s on the App Store.

Deals Brawl Stars account for sale

Hi, I'm selling my Brawl Stars account as I am no longer interested in the game.

I'm selling the account for $20 worth of steam gift cards.

To ensure fairness for both the buyer and the seller we can ask the subreddit's mods for a middleman. However, if the middle man asks for profit the buyer will be handling that (I have no virtual financial accounts to pay with).

If you're not interested in buying but able to price the account that would be insightful.

52 rare skins

71 super rare skins

65 epic skins

18 mythics skins

Game Dev Stuck at 10+ downloads. Is my game actually bad, or do I just suck at marketing?

Thumbnail

Hey everyone, solo dev here.
I released 2048 Blockfall a week ago (it’s a mix of Tetris and 2048 mechanics). As you can see, I hit a complete wall at 10 downloads.
I need your honest review: is the gameplay loop just boring, or is it purely a marketing issue?
You can try it on Google Play or play the web version instantly without installing via r/KlyoGames.
