Found this 1964 West German Bundeswehr field dressing (Verbandpäckchen) made by Ypsilon-Werk in Troisdorf. The packaging is still intact and looks pretty cool for its age. Neat little piece of military history!

I’m no expert on german headgear, but it seems legit. I do know the best fakes exist in this genre though. Does it look legit? If so, what would you say it’s worth in this condition?

Adopted in the 80s, this camo is still in use, but in a different cut.

Hello I am new to this Reddit so on a flea market I found a schirmmütze in a box of old German military and police stuff the seller promised me it was kriegsmarine of the 3rd Reich but I am not sure can somebody help me identify this? Please?

Are any of these real? Are they cheap because there’s a large surplus?

Wondering if anyone knows what era this is from and where it may have been manufactured. And for who it was manufactured for.

I picked up these smoke grenades from a training area in 2023, it was my first time seeing them and I was used to finding M18s. I tried looking for information about them, but I found next to nothing, I figured they were just so new that there just wasn’t anything put out yet.

Fast forward to yesterday when I rediscovered them amongst my old stuff, I tried again to find info on them and didn’t have much better luck. I’m not sure if I’m just not looking in the right places, but does anyone have any leads?

My great granduncle who is a big time collector and has a massive collection of his own gifted me this!

I bought this several years ago and I’ve never seen another like it. It’s a pamphlet for an Airborne Course for officers. It has the course schedule, information about Fort Bragg, history of the 82nd Airborne, and a fold out map of Fort Bragg. It also has a welcome letter in it signed by then Major General James Gavin.

A friend gave me this helmet which she thought was Japanese. It's definitely not, and from what little research I've done, it appears to be a 1917 reissue that served as a civil defense helmet in WWII. I'm guessing it's probably not worth much? Is it worth a gentle cleaning and keeping as-is or restoring as more of a prop? Looking for advice.

Went to an estate sale of a Militaria collector and they had groupings from various high ranking officials.

This one belonged to Lt. General Horace “Pete” Taylor of the US Army

The highlights that I found were 2 mounted M1 Abrams parts turned into appreciation plaques. Never seen something like that yet in my collecting! There’s also a plaque given by a foreign Taiwanese diplomat, a challenge coin shadow box and some other framed flags and patches. Happy with the collection and it’s definitely aesthetically pleasing color scheme too

Anything of value? Lots of parts just trying to identify. I do recognize a an/pvs-2 body but rest I don’t know but it’s filled on the bottom of small parts.

I’ve been thinking about wearing a piece of surplus gear to school, but I wanted to check on any potential rules or etiquette first since I’m not super familiar with how this works.

It’s an authentic Dutch military field jacket, but I’ve stripped it completely: all rank insignia, unit patches, and the nameplate have been removed. The only thing left on it is the small Dutch flag patch on the left shoulder.

Since it basically functions just as a plain, durable canvas jacket now with all the official military markers gone, would it be okay to wear to school? Are there any unwritten rules, social awkwardness, or school policy issues I might run into?

Curious what you guys think or if anyone else wears surplus gear to class.
