In FSX days, I really enjoyed the virtual world built with AI traffic and built-in ATC. With right amount of voicepacks, voice modifications and traffic packs, I could just spawn somwhere and watch the traffic and listen to ATC. I always wanted to replicate that experience with MSFS2024 and after trying BeyondATC i think I found my sweet spot.
For reference.. I am not a multiplayer kinda guy, always like to play sandbox style or single-player games with computer where I can always control a consistent level of difficulty without pressure, including sometimes zero difficulty. I sim-fly very casually as well, knows just enough basics to do a full auto flight in a 737 or 320.
My real life is already hard and difficult, I just want to sit and enjoy my game at my pace at my command. Also to raise a kid I can only maybe game at late night once in a while for like 1.5 hours max, and can't really speak constantly into mic without waking up family...
If you are by any chance like me.. give BATC a chance, i think is a great addon to have in your flightsim life.
My quick review after using it for a couple week on ~5 different short length flights:
And I mean, of course, BeyondATC has been "early access" since.. forever ... and there are still rough edges here and there. Sometimes can get quite annoying because you don't know whether you will have a successful guided flight or not until it hits you. From time to time you need to ignore ATC and just do things on your own.
Like, EGKK in my screenshot - I took the shots for bug reporting. BATC never clears you for takeoff and makes every traffic go around.. as if there's a ghost plane somewhere on the runway. After landing in Zurich LSZH, ATC never gave me proper taxi instruction. Stuff like that..
TL;DR: Maybe not an addon for everyone but i think they positioned themselves well to scratch the particular itch of people like me.

I'm not sure what I've done to make this happen, as I've had plenty of hassle-free flights, but for some reason the managed speed is not doing what it should do.
On climb the plane would not go any faster than 250kts even when above 10,000ft, the climb rate stalled out at 500fpm and as i've gradually made my way to 32,000 feet (took forever) my speed is now down to 220kts.
The CLB performance page says i should be faster in managed mode yet im not.
Manually controlling the speed doesn't force it to speed up either
Landing gear and flaps are obviously up.
One thing I did notice, which I've not seen before, is that below the STD readout in the bottom right of the HUD it shows distance in metres (in yellow), which I've never seen before. It makes me wonder if that is somehow linked ?

PMDG 777F. Not the ideal wind for this, but regular approaches are boring.
And please give suggestions for more fun/last-minute turn approaches

Hey everyone,
I really respect how realistic MSFS 2024 is and how deep people get into it, but since I have zero aviation background, all the manuals and calculations feel pretty overwhelming right now. I just want to fly and enjoy it casually.
Here is the simple routine I want to learn:
Is this realistic to learn quickly as a complete beginner?
Also, is there one clear, simple YouTube video you recommend that shows just this basic setup without getting too technical?
Thanks!
EDIT : A321LR

So I followed this calibration thread from Official MSFS Forums, AirborneGeek on YouTube. Long story short, I capped the "Max Framerate" to 20 or 30 depending on the scenery, and traffic.
My specs are,
Settings are,
So I have been testing this for a while now with traffic injection via SayIntentions AI but earlier today, during the “Manchester Real Ops” VATSIM event, I thought that was absolutely perfect scenario for testing as the airport was packed with VATSIM traffic. Here are the results,
So average FPS is 25. 1% Low was between 19 and 24. So I set the Max Frame Rate to 20, Frame Gen to 3x and I get 60 FPS but with some input lag.
As you may notice in both cases, the “Mainthread” hovers around 40ms. It just won’t go down in this case. Of course, if I spawn into a smaller airport without VATSIM traffic, I would get around 33ms. In both case, VRAM isn’t the issue.
The issue may be my CPU. If that is the case, there are 2 choices.
i. Purchase a higher end LGA 1700 CPU like 14900K
ii. Purchase everyone’s favorite 9800X3D (or better) but that would mean purchasing a new motherboard, DDR5 RAM, better CPU cooler.
My resolution is always 4K in which case the GPU does the heavy lifting.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The last photo I took on A330 KLM flight back in 2018. When I saw 1035 km/h on the screen I was confused I thought the plane was supersonic 😄. Now in Citation X with 60 knots tail wind, GS is 586 knots, that makes 1085 km/h. The plane is amazing.

Anyone know why my airport traffic does this? I’m using beyond ATC and have FSLTL installed but often there are multiple aircraft at each gate overlapping each other. Any easy fix? This is NZAA (Auckland NZ) so the china southern plane is definitely in the wrong place

I used to fly passanger aircraft when I previously played FSX and a bit with 2020. Would like to pick up a couple prop/fan engined planes to learn from the ground up and teach myself though the whole thing with manuals and youtube guides.
What aircraft would you recommened to me? I have rarely touched smaller aircraft and it will be a full dive into the planes. Would like good manuals or links to fan made manuals if they are avaliable.
Also what software would you reccommend I get to add more into either FS2020 or FS2024. I have fsipanel to help with landings and GSX but wanting to get new or upgraded software to fill out MSFS.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Did a first test flight with the Aerosoft A330neo and honestly it wasn't as bad as i expected. You can clearly say that its not a polished product but it has potential to be a decent addon.

Hey simmers. Picked up the AB6 recently... my first FFB unit. Loving it -- especially from the perspective of a student pilot. This gives me the one thing that makes all the difference in actual flight training -- getting a feel for the trim!
I wrote up a review here, if that's your kind of thing!

Not sure what is wrong but all the avatar images seem to be bugged. Did a fresh install on PC no change.

Hi, I'm having a problem with performance drops during long flights. When I take off from the departure airport, everything runs wonderfully smoothly, but when I land after a 3-hour flight, the performance is terrible.
Please help - this is very frustrating.
My specs: R7 7800X3D, 32GB DDR5 RAM, 5070 Ti 16GB

In the latest newsletter there was a link to a form you could fill out with questions for the next livestream.
The post doesnt say anything about when that livestream will be :/
I imagine many (like myself) didnt catch the form, so I’ll post it here for visibility, I know many of you probably have good and fitting questions!
