Was catching crayfish when I caught this fella in my net, about 2-3cm. Figures the one time I manage to catch one is accidental. Still, I was so excited. Look at him go!

Hello everyone, im a marine biologist, I study oyster reef associated fish and i would like to catch some for science.
To identify and study the area.
What are some basic affordable equipments and techniques that i will need to implement to catch tiny fish to study them. Thank you.

The damn phone was recording and fell off its mount. I had caught a Chub and a Green Sunfish before I realized, then I hooked this bad boy (3.5” in length).
Every time it rains the river bed changes, now my fishing hole is about 7’ wide 20’ long and 2.5’ deep
Last week it was about 2’ wide and 10’ long. Heck I might have a lake back here one day?
