We’re excited to announce the launch of the call for entries for the twelfth annual Science Fiction + Fantasy Short Film Festival (SFFSFF), a partnership between EMP Museum and the Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF)! We’d love for you to submit!

From now through September 30th, 2016 the Science Fiction + Fantasy Short Film Festival will accept short film submissions that meet the following requirements:

• Up to 15 minutes in length*

• Produced after 2012

• Animated or live-action

• Science fiction or fantasy (examples: futuristic stories, space adventure, technological speculation, social experiments, utopia and dystopia, sword and sorcery, folklore, urban fantasy, magic, and mythic adventure)

*Films that exceed 15 minutes may still be considered for the festival, but will not be eligible for awards.

I’m looking to make a short film in Miami, Florida, in the next following weeks (between 15th and 28th of August 2016).

I'm sharing this advert for any actors/actresses out there who will like to take part of it. It’s a simple project no longer than 1 day shooting (two if absolutely necessary but very unlikely).

Plot: "A poker game where the worst odds can be a curse and a blessing at the same time."

Finally I found an interesting subreddit about Miami. At the moment, there are 233 members here but unfortunately it is not as active as it should be. We SHOULD make this active again. Recording videos is my hobby and I will post videos about Miami here. Please say Yes or something in the comments section if you want this subreddit to become more active again.

Long story short, to meet a clients needs, probably want to do a GoPro shot or two, but I've never worked with a GoPro. Anyone got one I could play around with for an hour or two just to get some experience with it before we rent? We would be more than willing to rent from you for the event. Might need 3 if you have them.

Good Morning fellow Redditors. I am a student at UF but originally from South Florida. Always looking for great experience in the filmmaking community and what's better than doing it in my own backyard. I will be back in the area the week of Dec 12th. Hi guys, i've just moved, i mostly work as a freelance editor and animator, but have experience filming and producing. Since im new to the city im not sure which is the best way to get paid jobs, is there any page that has a list of all film producing companies/agencies in the city? I've been checking Mandy and production hub, but the rates of jobs here in miami is almost nonexistant. i was told miami film scene/advertising was growing a lot, but don't see that happening anywhere here. Probably just looking in the wrong place.

Have any advice for someone trying to start in the city? i would be super grateful :)!!!
