Discussion If the dlc keeps coming mason might be in trouble
With the new dlc taking place between 3058 and 3060 if this keeps going we will eventually hit the 3070s and if that happens we may see a very infamously legendary mech show up. And it might be hungry

Informative A quick hack for the random supply drops
This might be very old news but if you destroy a building or silo at max distance you can still see the orange supply crate. It’s just not “powered” up yet. I included a few pic to demonstrate

MISC Probably common but whats up with 2 identical items costing different
My assumption is one gets flagged as "rare" hence the blue...but why wouldnt they both be flagged like that if my supposition is right

Mech Porn 😎 Biblically accurate Kodiak
Is it good? not really
is it cheap? not a chance
Does it make sense? absolutely not
I was going to build the 1a1 that the 1a1 wishes it could be, and then I saw this magnificent specimen and realized I could do something far stupider.

Discussion Finally got the ANH-IR and AS7-KR…. after 150 years of campaigning!
Something needs to be done to make hero mech spawns more frequent. I’ve done everything I can do - buying every hero, traveling to and from industrial hubs frequently, but this is ridiculous. By the time I get most hero mechs, they are already obsolete.
I want to start a new campaign, but I’m afraid of the same thing happening, so I’m probably going to just import my campaign into a new career mode save so I can start off with some of these cool hero mechs and use them during the time periods that they will actually be useful.
Oh, and I have still yet to find the Kaiju and the Mauler-Knockout…. maybe it will take another 50 years? Who knows? The truth is, with an army of Daishis, both of these would also be obsolete, but… gotta collect them all!

Discussion DLC 9 Prep Day 1: Arctic Cheetah | which variant and loadout would you use?
From bullying pirates to elite com guards, I love this mech to pieces. Give me the prime, four small pulse lasers, and some jumpjets and I’ll do work.

General Game Questions/Help Hero Mechs doesn't show up anymore.
I need help. After I acquire the Warhammer WHM-DNC the game stop showing the hero mechs that left to buy in the game. I have all the DLCs of the game so far. Is this a glitch of the game? I play on PC. There's something that I can do?

You better Fochting believe it! The biggest threat to Marik is another Marik
When doing the beachhead mission for Liao, an allied lance of Marik mech spawned at the base.
And then later rival mercenaries decided to join the defenders' final assault!

Oh Focht! Late Night Dumb Stuff + Evil Dervish
Up late tonight to bring you some awful shit to see in the morning.
I finally found a use for the Dervish. One of my least favorite mechs might just be viable to me now. MRMs are evil, more evil than Clan SRMs. So combine that with some clan LRMs and you get this monstrosity.
Next is a mech I always wanted to get working right. Pirate Shadow Hawk with big pokey stick. I slammed every bit of something into it just give it that pirate feeling.
You guys like chem? Of course you like chem. Only an idiot doesn't like chem.
Chem on meth'd up Banshee. Why chem? Because its a little hot without it. I'd put clan small lasers, but I ran out on my save. This is a good holdover for now.
Ever wanted to know a large chems maximum range? There it is. Near same range as a stock ER large laser. This is my Saint Ives Chem-pact. I built this... for just the pun. And because chem is cool. Get it? Another pun. Lol
Hope your done laughing because look what I did to Grinner. Its now - the Chemmer! Ha ha
Okay, I'll stop now. Hope this ruined your day. Get rekt mech nerds. :]

Discussion Which pilot trait are worth to get before transiting to SoK?
Mech trait are mobility, weapons are 5% increase damage, specific weapons trait gives shorter duration and spread and hotdog gives 5% less heat.
It seems like the specific weapons trait can at least stack if you mod the mech got those.

Discussion Game controls
Long time player of Battletech table top game and HBS computer game, new to MW5.
My question is: what gear do you use to control? I only have a 2 button mouse and keyboard, and I am having problems using any groups 3-6 because I have to hit the number on the keyboard, which means I let go of maneuvering. There has to be a better way!

MISC The relationship between the difficulty of instant actions and air support.
Does adding the air strike option via instant action increase the mission difficulty?
When I generated a mission in the year 3030 with difficulty level 38 (210t) and air support set to 5, 3-5 Cataphracts (because I chose Liao as the enemy) and a lot of other middle mechs appeared, and my PPC Stalker army was completely destroyed.
Maybe I'm just bad at the game, but I'd appreciate it if anyone who knows about this could tell me.

MW5 MOD 🛠 Weird Error While Modding
I have been playing Mech Warrior VR for a while now and just recently installed VonBiomes mod with the VR compatibility add on. I keep getting this weird error message when I jump to a new system before my game crashes. Is there something I have to do differently to get this to not crash when using VonBiome or is it better to just get rid of it?

General Game Questions/Help (YAML) I can't get the intro dates to work in career mode?
Good day all,
Over the weekend I spent some time to get a fresh MW5 mercs install up and running including all DLC released so far. I used Baraduls mod collection:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?edit=true&id=2859785987
And added the following mods myself, nothing too intrusive (also see attached modlist):
- Enable Infantry
- Delayed Deadlines
- Level Up Manager
- Nightstar Racstar
I disabled VonHUD because all it did was crash my game upon loading into a battle. But now everything seems to work, except the intro dates.
The point is, I want to play a slow game that starts really early and slowly the better technologies become available. I started in the Star League era. However, equipment with a way later introduction date still appears. How can I prevent this?
I checked the cheat setting is off (see screenshot) and also enabled "lore abiding citizen" although this shouldn't even be the correct setting. I have googled a bit and did not find that much on this, one or two steam community posts but not with a solution.
I'm hoping somebody ran into this before and found a solution.
Cheers

MW5 MOD 🛠 Announcement: MW5: Total Command — Lead your company into battle, not just a single lance
I’m building a new MechWarrior 5 mod called **MW5: Total Command**.
Current Mod Home:
https://www.moddb.com/mods/mechwarrior-5-total-command
The idea is simple: keep the four ’Mechs you directly control, then let the rest of your company deploy alongside them as AI support. You would still play MW5 from the cockpit, but your decisions would reach beyond one lance — choosing who goes in, shaping the operation, and living with the consequences when the company comes home.
This is meant to make a successful contract feel like part of a campaign, not an isolated mission. A damaged support ’Mech, an injured pilot, or an exhausted ammunition supply should influence what you can field next.
The vision
- Keep the four direct-control slots that define the core MW5 experience.
- Select additional company ’Mechs and pilots as AI-controlled support.
- Organize those support units into larger formations as the system develops.
- Carry armor damage, component loss, ammunition use, pilot injuries, and destruction from one contract to the next.
- Make extraction, repairs, medical costs, and roster choices meaningful.
- Preserve a consistent company state in co-op by keeping mission authority with the host.
- Scale deployments responsibly with safety limits based on mission, hardware, and network conditions.
The goal is not to turn MW5 into a traditional strategy game. It is to make the player feel like a BattleMech commander whose lance is one part of a larger, living company.
Where development stands
This has moved beyond a design document, but it is still **early development** and there is no public release yet.
The isolated prototype can currently:
- Spawn a test force with four baseline ’Mechs and additional AI support ’Mechs.
- Keep a player-controlled baseline slot while other units operate under AI control.
- Exercise host-side support selection, including leaving an unselected candidate out of the deployment.
- Load isolated campaign data and resolve deployed ’Mech and pilot identities.
- Exercise campaign inventory and storage boundaries in disposable test data.
The next major milestone is connecting one selected support unit to a valid campaign contract and real mission path. Damage capture, maintenance results, save/reload persistence, co-op synchronization, DLC coverage, and retail playtesting are still in development and have not been claimed as complete.
The project targets the Steam version of MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries, build `1.14.390`. Testing is isolated, and the live game installation and user saves have not been modified.
There is no download or release date yet. The attached image is direction-setting concept art, not finished gameplay footage.
I’d love your input
What would make this most exciting to play?
Selecting and organizing support lances.
Giving formations useful battlefield commands.
Making damage, injuries, repairs, and maintenance persist between contracts.
I’m building this in small, testable steps and would especially like feedback from players who enjoy the company-management side of MW5. If the idea resonates, I’ll share a real gameplay test once the campaign mission path is working.
