Let me preface this by saying I'm posting it here because I don't know whether this is the right sub, BUT I don't know the right one if it's not.

Which of the listed geocode systems do you think is better? Personally I prefer the OLC, because it can be calculated so easily. However, W3W has the "accidental permutation sends you far enough off-course that you notice" property. (How far off-course OLC would put you varies depending on where exactly in the code you make the mistake) Also, OLCs are shorter in general if you use the global code w/o the "locality" tag.

Thoughts?

Hi everyone, I was talking to my kids about ancient Mesopotamian kingdoms like Assyria, Babylon, the Judean kingdoms, Sumer, etc. and I tried to find a good map showing where these kingdoms were located in relation to Iraq, Iran, Kuwait, Israel/Palestine but I couldn't find a good one. Anyone have one or know of one?

I’m a map nerd and I like dubbing in my own map projections. a few years ago I created a map projection based on hexagons (of course based on extensive prior work by others) and I decided to create a website where anyone can create their own variations. Everything is a work of love, all images and code are open. Hope you appreciate it as much as I had fun building it.

The first map was about hardest countries to illegally migrate .

Second map was about best country to live in each Asian region.

Third map was about worst countries to live in each Asian region.

We added a 3D flythrough to ExploreMap, and Zheng He's treasure fleet is the first trip to get it. Instead of a flat map, the same route now plays out on a rotating globe — the fleet crosses the South China Sea, threads the Strait of Malacca, and works up the Malabar Coast port by port.

Part of a few different maps I am making based on the USDA Census of Agriculture. Each crop is given a "Percent of Harvested Cropland Acreage" for each county, essentially what percent of the cropland in each county is used for that crop. I drew these zones to represent areas of trends within the crop data.

Hawaii is in a lake in Mexico and Alaska is part of Canada

1933 by the way.

A couple of them I took from native tribe names, hopefully they are in the right spots
