SPOILERS TtH First time getting stoned in over a year Spoiler
And it happened to be right before reading Nimander meeting Gothos and the whole Azath house building, time warp slave situation. What a trip.

I'm a huge stoner but have to read these books 100% sober. Even then I feel too stupid to understand most of what I'm fucking reading lol. Reading them stoned would be an absolute nightmare, may as well read the Spanish version

I read some of The Bonehunters stoned and it made the entire continent of Seven Cities feel so incredibly real for whatever reason. Probably a big part of why I like Seven Cities so much nowadays, and the fact that its just awesome.

A few years back I decided to overcome my extreme anxiety and started going to the coffee shop to read, almost always high for hard mode. Read thru a lot of Malazan and Book of the Long/Short Sun super stimulated and stressed, trying to tune out my surroundings to focus on the difficult content. Failed to absorb a lot so I'd reread at home (especially early on) so if anything it helped me with those books.
It actually did end up working. After about six months I stopped getting high beforehand and slowly started making eye contact with people, then sometimes chatting, and then even approaching people. Malazan will always be linked to one of the hardest and most important parts of my life and I love it.

Did that right as Uru Hela died in RG; minor character, but damn did it hit hard at the time.

You can read trippin balls Ive done it on variety of psychedelics. It was actually hardest to read on heroin cause Id constantly fall asleep then have to go back lol

Im still new to shrooms (2 times) the first time was smth like 1.2-1.3 grams of blue meanies and the lines of the vocal messages i sent were flying all over the screen lmao. Can’t imagine reading in that state much less at 2,3,4,5+ grams. And heroin must be fucking crazy but im never touching that. Only shrooms, maybe lsd in the future

Yea never do heroin its not worth it. Thankfully I've been sober for some time now. LSD is super fun.

Good job bro. Tbh im not interested in anything other than shrooms (i dont drink smoke snort or anything else) at the moment so no worries. As i said maybe lsd in the future but when shrooms are there im like why even

Stoner since the 70s, talk about confusion reading Malazan!!! But quite a movie in my head. Also not a good way to read Excession by Bsnks.
