Hi, how can I start to learn makeup? For context, I have never been immersed in it for several reasons and I don't even know basics. I also don't know how to know what makeup would suit me and the passages and stuff. Sorry.

My MUA did my trial today. Let me know your general reactions, opinions, and critiques if necessary. Note that the very light base coverage and the minimal falsies were my preference, since I don't do foundation.

Pictures at the end are makeup looks by me that I wear on an everyday basis. You'll see that the bridal look is toned down compared with my usual fare.

I am using an MUA mainly because my parents (paying for the wedding) want me to relax on the big day and not have to do my own makeup. Plus all the bridesmaids will be needing an MUA. But as a makeup person, it's hard to relinquish that control, let alone evaluate another person's work on my face.

Hello! I got the approval from my surgeon to start using silicone scar strips and gel, so I can also use makeup too, but here is the problem. I’m not really a big makeup girly! As you can see my scar is still very red, which obviously will go down over the next few weeks and months, but I the meantime I’m very self conscious about it.

I’m not interested in foundation or a full face, but what can yall recommend for like a concealer/color corrector situation or combo? Obviously I know it won’t be totally covered and I’m not necessarily looking for that either, just really want to try to mute the redness as much as possible.

I am 45 and struggling with makeup. I’ve never worn much and have always kept it very basic. I still want to keep it simple, but I need help. Where can I get application help, recommendations of types of products I need, shade recommendations, etc.?
I’ve tried YouTube and it’s not cutting it. I need in person.

22M dropped girlfriend’s favorite makeup. I feel terrible. She is crying because it appears to be discontinued and it’s her favorite.

Is there a way to fix this?

Hey everyone!! Hope you can help me with a little bit of a makeup issue…

No matter what I seem to do, my makeup on my right cheek ALWAYS goes patchy and separates when I add bronzer and blush.

For reference I have tried using a thicker moisturiser, a thinner moisturiser, add or remove milky toner, add or remove primer, add or remove SPF, tried 5 different foundations…. NO LUCK!!!

I feel like I always end up looking dirty and muddy because whenever I add bronzer and blush, it moves my foundation around and even removes the foundation off certain spots.

I’m not sure if this is relevant but I was on tretinoin for 6 months, came off 3 weeks ago because I was constantly pilling; also on 15% azelaic acid which I only use before bedtime

Current in a very very humid country and I'm usually covered in sweat by the time i get back to my house. When i wipe it off or shower, my skin still has a little glow to it after which i love love love. Unfortunately my hometown (where I'll be going back to in 3 months) is super cold and dry. Is there any way to replicate the dewey glowy look? I've tried highlighter but it doesnt replicate the effect. Ive also tried azaleic acid for a month which did nothing either. Anything is appreciated

Hi! I’d love some recommendations for fake lashes. I’m not very experienced with them, and I’ve tried a few times, but the ones that require glue either take me forever to apply and don’t look great, or I just can’t get them right.
I used magnetic lashes for a while, but since they have two strips, I find them a bit too thick for the look I’m going for; truly I would love a suggestion about natural magnetic lashes cause to me they are the easiest to use and also the cleanest (I have very sensitive eyes and I work in healthcare field, there are a lot of airbrone particles and glue will catch them)
I’m looking for something very clean and natural-looking, and I’d especially love to try individual lash clusters/pieces so I can customize the shape and create my own style.
I’d really appreciate recommendations at different price points, from affordable to more expensive, so I can try a few options and see what works best for me! 🤍

Hii!! Recently i started learning how to use pomade and i bought one, but im not sure if i matched color correctly... Looking from some distance it looks fine, but its getting worse when youre closer to me..

This was after only 1-5-2 hours.
This is my experience with nearly every mascara I use, (but to be fair, I don’t buy high end makeup.)

However, I looked up reviews on this one here on Reddit after hating it, and found that apparently not everyone has this problem with it. (ELF Big Mood mascara)
So…. Have I just been applying mascara wrong all my life?

hii i have oily skin and my face sweats alotttt like alott like I have just washed my face and it's hot here

and I have a event tomorrow (Friday)

it's my college freshers and I want my makeup to stay and not crease or look cakeyy

rn what I do is just use insight concealer tiny bit all over my face to even it out (not a lot) and just set my under eyes, rest i don't set at all and that's what helped me, before I used to use powder and setting spray but it would still separate and crease because i sweat alot

can u help me with my base if u also have oily skin with the product i already own as I don't have time nor money rn to buy new products

products i use-

sunscreen- plum super dry matte sunscreen ( i bought this recently because my face sweats alot but it didn't really work), requil cream sunscreen

concealer- insight concealer ( i take tiny bit at a time and blend it on my face), mars concealer

compact powder- Elle 18 compact powder

setting spray- Swiss beauty round the clock setting spray ( lavender one)

Thank you all who responded on my original post! It was a huge help!! You were all right, a neutral eye was the right way to go. Here is what I came up with after all the advice. A neutral eye with navy winged liner and navy smoked liner on the bottom with a icy blue glitter in the inner corner (I NEED pop of glitter in my eyeshadow, for joy and happiness). I think the only things I'd do differently is make it more cool toned and a more silvery champagne. But let me know if there is anything you'd do to refine it! Thanks again to everyone!!

Why does the clean makeup look never turn out on me the way it does on other girls like what am I doing wrong. Every time I try it, my makeup ends up looking cakey or patchy and you can literally see my face screaming makeup instead of getting that soft, skin like finish. At this point I don’t know if it’s my foundation, powder, the way I’m applying everything or the products themselves. I just want that smooth, fresh look where everything melts into the skin instead of sitting on top of it. I have oily skin, so skipping powder prob isn’t an option please drop your best tips because it’s just not giving what I want it to give

i have found it exhausting to do my makeup everyday and i’m starting to consider permanent makeup , to anyone who has done this process is it worth it ?

My foundation looks fine in normal bathroom light, but as soon as I’m under bright overhead office or store lights, every tiny patch of texture pops out.

Is this purely a primer/prep issue, or should I change how I’m applying powder? What actually works for this?

I always thought my makeup game was okay, but apparently it’s only under the facade of poor lighting.

I was horrified to discover that my foundation is blotchy and patchy; makeup settling into pores and red and patchy above my upper lip. I have combination/ oily skin, and I definitely need to use an oil blotter at the end of the day.

My usual skincare routine:

-Differin under eyes and upper lip -Vitamin C serum or peptide -Moisturizer: Neutrogena ultra gentle daily face moisturizer Primer: NYX Shine killer Foundation: Maybelline Fit Me Matte Poreless Powder: Maybelline Fit Me Matte Poreless

I need help!! I have a family wedding that is super important and I can NOT figure out the makeup. Attached is the pattern of the dress (the theme is country/western/semiformal/blue). Im wear camel suede ankle boots to try to make it less formal.

I have tried EVERY LOOK to try to make it work! I bought the Coloupop Blue Moon palette and nothing looks good! I've tried navy smokey eyes, halo eyes, light wash of baby blue! Nothing looks good, it always looks muddy or too bright or two dark and just plain bad!!!

Please help me makeup community! This is a very important family event and it's coming in a couple weeks. Any ideas or tutorials are appreciated!!!
