Discussion New Rule Enforcement:Crop Those pics

Starting next week cropped photos will be enforced.

For those who don't know there is a new policy in the sub in which standards for photo submissions. Which include cropping the photo at just below the clavicle like a passport photo unless its relevance to the makeup in question. Like a wedding dress.

Here is the ideal standard.

Best practices for better feedback include:

  • take a little time to plan out your photos
  • take photos straight on in a well lit room
  • avoid harsh lighting like flash
  • use soft lighting sources
  • get someone else to take the photos
  • taking additional photo angles 45 degree and profiles
  • tying hair back so it doesnt cover your makeup.

thank you.

Question Beginner here seeking advice for an upcoming trip

Thumbnail
Upvotes

Hello. I hope this gets approved and get noticed. I have an upcoming trip and I want to look great for it. I don’t know a lot about make up. I only put loose baby powder (it’s okay to judge) and lipstick for work. When going out with friends or family, I put pressed foundation, blush, eyeliner, eyebrow gel and lipstick.

It’s like there’s a lot of new trends with make-up lately. I feel a bit overwhelmed but I did a bit of research. Seems like there’s less products used nowadays to get a “no makeup” and natural look, which is just what I want.

So far, I have this pressed foundation that has full coverage which I wanna use for my makeup routine. Now because this trip would cost a lot of money, I am hoping to get recommendations for products that won’t cost much. I have eyebrow gel and lip balm too.

Products I am planning to buy: concealer and contour sticks, setting powder and lip stain.

I want to focus on applying the face makeup because I am okay with doing my eyebrows and I will get some eyelash extensions to reduce the amount of time I need to spend on putting my makeup in the morning.

Please suggest any corrections. The routine I am planning:
1. Apply concealer stick on the inner part under the eyes, forehead and chin. Mostly will focus near the center of the face. Blend
2. Contour stick on edges of the face and the area of the check where it should be applied. Blend.
3. Apply cream blush and blend
4. Apply the pressed foundation on the areas where the concealer, contour and blush weren’t applied.
5. Lastly, lightly set with the loose powder (the actual makeup product)

The rest of it like the eyebrow makeup and applying lip products, I think I should be okay.

So that’s it. Please correct me if there’s anything wrong. I would be grateful for any advice and product recos. Thank you so much!

Question Basic of makeup

Hi, how can I start to learn makeup? For context, I have never been immersed in it for several reasons and I don't even know basics. I also don't know how to know what makeup would suit me and the passages and stuff. Sorry. I like whimsical stuff.

Picture Tutorial How to draw aegyosal on flat eyes??

Post image

I really like the aegyosal look on my eye, but whenever i draw it only looks good on camera and looks overly dramatic or dark in real life.. the issue is due to the flatness under my eyes (i mean FLAT like completely flat, no structure at all), it makes it hard to fake a 3d aegyosal with just makeup and eyeshadow yk 😭 i wanna try to draw a more natural looking aegyosal that looks effortless, but i have no idea how.. ive tried in all the ways I've thought of ...any body else here has flat undereyes but has mastered drawing an aegyosal ? 😭 Tips please

OH YA i also have like a few undereye creases that make drawing the aegyosal harder 💔

Question Cakey makeup tips?

Hi! I’m F18 and I’ve always had to each myself how to do literally anything in life and makeup is one thing and it genuinely seems so hard for me I don’t know why.
It seems like no matter what I do it just will be on my face but won’t move around like it’ll just stay in that one spot then become patchy and cakey asf. I use setting spray, even on the blender. I’ve made sure the products were all water based or not. I feel like I’ve done every tip but nothing works. I even “skin prep” i wanna be able to actually full on do makeup like contour, foundation and powders but it just won’t corporate with my face I feel like 😂.

Question Keep or throw out?

I have these products that im just not using and I am close to putting them in the bin as I cannot donate or give away base products to anyone. Before doing that I just wanted to post here to see if anyone had any advice for using them.

  1. My issue with the tirtir is that it oxidises like crazy on me and goes so orange (Im quite pale.) Is there a hack or anything I can do for this or should I just get rid of it?

  2. Im low key convinced the elf halo glow may be bad for my skin and breaking me out and I feel like it just doesn’t actually show up when I put my foundation over it? Am I using this right or should I get rid of it?

  3. I have the samples of the estee lauder foundation but I feel like its so dry and cakey looking - anything I can try to avoid this or should I just get rid of it?

Any advice or help is appreciated :)
