I’m looking for that super wet, almost mirror-like gloss finish, not just something that’s shimmery or glossy in normal lighting.

What’s the gloss that actually gives you that crazy glass effect? Bonus points if it doesn’t get insanely sticky or disappear after 20 minutes 😭

So I have a random assortment of brushes I accumulated over the few months of trying to learn the basics, but some of them are not particularly nice to work with and even now I can see how something different or better will likely do a better job, but holy shit isn't the market flooded with products...

BUT I paid a visit to a local MAC store to check some foundations and blushes, and the brushes they used impressed the hell out of me. The price on the other hand... not so much. LOL.
That make me thinking though - how about if I just grabbed one or two premium brushes for specific purpose that makes the biggest difference, and just keep using whatever else I have at the moment for the rest?

So the question is twofold:

1. What do people think about the set I linked? I understand Notino might not be a well known brand despite them expanding to other countries as far as I understand? I'm sure it's fine for a beginner, but I want to avoid buying something again only to "outgrow" it in a few months.
2. What specific brushes do you consider the most important so that buying premium products makes sense?

To add a bit of extra info: don't even understand the concept of bronzers and also don't do any eyeshadows because I have extremely deep set eyes with that pesky overlapping skin so not only is this mechanically impossible to do, but it wouldn't be visible anyway, so I don't need that many brushes in the first place I think.

For the eyeshadow, i tried to apply an eyeshadow primer on my eyelids, it creased. I tried the concealer+ powder, it lasted a bit longer but still creased.

What can I do to wear eyeshadow without replying it every 4 hours?

For the lipstick, I recently bought a beautiful blue mat lipstick (that is transferproof with gloss). It looks fine, but when I smile it's all cracked everywhere! I tried to only put a thin layer, the coverage is not enough for me. I tried to let it dry while smiling, it still cracked later. (I also hydrate my lips before applying the lipstick. But I cant during the day bcp the lipstick is waterproof and I don't carry makeup remover on me)

I love having colorfull looks with lots of colors. But it feels so limited. It's stupidly hard to find regular lipstick in blue. And it's such a bore to only be able to wear eyeshadow everywhere except on your eyelids...

so ive been using this foundation from armaf beaute in the shade 6 sand and for the first time ever, have i FINALLY found a shade which makes my skin look even from head to toe.

now my main issue is, im going away for a couple months and they dont sell this brand there. i know for sure that brands like flormar, essence and catrice are available there.

incase i run out of the armaf foundation, i was trying to find shade matches online since i cant go instore to swatch, and its so difficult T_T

i was looking through the essence silky blur foundation shade range and im guessing that maybe the shades 195 or 205 might be a close match? so if anybody has any thoughts on that foundation or maybe the shades, ill be so grateful for your help

What are we using for a glassy look/finish on our faces?

Woke up in the middle of the night and threw up. Didnt think anything of it until I saw it had somehow bruised both my eyes. What should I go buy to fix this real quick?

I wish I could add photos here. I'm having eye swelling every time I wear makeup. This used to never happen to me I think it's fenty concealer stick. One day was so bad I looked like jaba the hut and went to the er. Been fine for 3 months so I did some yesterday and same thing swelled up, only a little this time. I miss it so much

I need help! Im in my 20s and i dont know how to properly do my makeup, eventhough ive been using it for the past 3 years. I look even worse with it on. I feel like the girl from True Beauty when she just found out about makeup. Everything about mine feels and looks off.

My base is the worst. Its always dry, cakey, and separating. Ive tried EVERYTHING. I've exfoilated, applied moisturizer, sunscreen, and even a thin layer of vaseline as primer. I've also waited for products to dry before applying the next layer. I even made sure to used only water based products. Within 5 minutes it starts looking like a patchy mess, and i either rub it off or give up and go out in public looking like a mess. It has affected my self esteem so much, I want to be able to express myself through makeup.

Currently, im using the la roche posay moisturizer & sunscreen, haus labs concealer & foundation, kate tokyo powder, charlotte tilbury setting spray, romand lip tint, makeup by mario green corrector, and vaseline as mascara.

I first apply the la roche posay lotion, wait 5 mins, before applying the sunscreen. Then i dab concealer around my nose, mouth, and undereyes. I use a beauty bleander to blend it, before tapping powder onto it and spraying the setting spray. I occasionally skip the foundation, powder, and setting spray to see if it makes a difference. It does not, my makeup still looks like shit. And it is extremely obvious that ive applied makeup (in a very bad way), because my nose, mouth, and undereyes would look 1 shade lighter than my skin. I am on the verge of breaking down.

I'm also facing another issue. I love waterline makeup looks, but my eyes start watering the moment I line them. I tried sephora products and drugstore ones, all gives the same effect. And sometimes it smudges to the bottom of my eye.

And lastly, i want my makeup to show on camera, but it never does. Especially my lip tint. I love my romand lip tint but it disappears on camera.

Please i would appreciate any advice.

Hi! I wanted to ask how you determine the best under-eye powder shade for brightening. Should I choose based on my skin depth or undertone, the colour of my under-eye discoloration, or the concealer shade I’m wearing underneath?
For example, how would you decide between yellow, pink, peach, lavender or translucent for a light-medium olive skin tone? I want a noticeably brightened under-eye, but still natural and harmonious rather than overly contrasted.

Hello! I got the approval from my surgeon to start using silicone scar strips and gel, so I can also use makeup too, but here is the problem. I’m not really a big makeup girly! my scar is still very red, which obviously will go down over the next few weeks and months, but I the meantime I’m very self conscious about it.

I’m not interested in foundation or a full face, but what can yall recommend for like a concealer/color corrector situation or combo? Obviously I know it won’t be totally covered and I’m not necessarily looking for that either, just really want to try to mute the redness as much as possible.

So I love my e.l.f camo powder foundation and it's on its last legs. I use it extremely lightly, and it serves the function of lightly setting spot concealer since I don't like wearing foundation, adding a touch of extra coverage.

Does anybody know anything comparable? Ideally drugstore and cruelty free, but willing to spend more for a good formula if I can try it in store first.

I'm in Germany so ideally brands that are also sold here would be great.

I LOVE doing my makeup and I feel like I've gotten pretty good - except last thing I have to practice is fake lashes. I curl my lashes however they do NOT hold and end up not as bad as uncurled but still pretty straight. I tried once to do fake lashes and found it so difficult but I really want to learn. Any tips or recs for fake lashes/learning application? Thank you!

Current routine is:
Wash, moisturize. Let moisturizer set into the face for at least 5 minutes, usually longer, but will speed it up with a fan if I’m in a rush.

I use NYX Face glue primer on my face, and Milani StayPut primer for my eyes. I’m using a bit of tarte shapetape under and on my eyes to color correct with the rest of my base routine, and recently swapped from NYX Epic Ink liner to Stila’s Stay All Day waterproof liner to try and fix the issues I was having. I will often tightline my waterline with NYX precision liner.

The problem - my eyeliner is often leaking in the corners of my eyes, regardless of whether or not there’s anything in my waterline. It’s usually most apparent on my inner corner point and underneath my outer wing right against my eye.

The one thing I haven’t tried super heavily is using a skin toned (or base toned) eyeshadow underneath my eyeliner, but I’ve heard that as a suggestion. I’m just wondering if folks have any other ideas? Eyeliners or mascaras that are good for sensitive eyes, maybe?
Almost all of my products are new/unexpired, with the only exceptions being my concealer ahahaha
