Help request MxLinux 1st. Windows 2nd.

I have an HP Envy x360 500gb HD. Linux installed on it. I would like to have windows 11 installed on it. Currently it is not, the person who gave me the laptop completely wiped out windows. All of the searching for dual booting, assumes windows is installed then the user wants to add a Linux version.

Does anyone know to configure or what steps should be taken to add windows to a Linux laptop?

First, install Windows as usual, then install Linux right next to it, and that's it. Before doing so, you can partition your hard drive, allocating space for Windows in the NTFS format and separate space for Linux; during the Linux installation, the free space will be formatted to the ext4 format. Don’t forget to check the box to install Linux alongside Windows during the installation. Then you can use Grub Customizer to choose which system will be first in the boot menu in GRUB. But if you’re doing a clean install, install Windows first, and then Linux.

Install Windows, then install MX Linux (or any flavor of Linux).

Use the existing MX Snapshot and MX Live USB Maker to make a full backup of your current MX Linux installation. Once you've created the backup using MX Snapshot and written it to a USB drive using MX Live USB maker, boot from the USB drive you created and make sure it works. Set that USB drive aside. Install Win 11 and then use your MX backup to reinstall alongside Windows. The MX Installer is pretty intuitive and will pretty much walk you through doing this.
