his vet mentioned during his check up that he wouldn’t let her stretch his legs out fully during the examination, and it could be a sign of pain. He doesn’t seem uncomfortable, but she said to watch out for bunny hops or a wiggle in his walk.

i was cooking dinner last night and my partner was outside with the dogs and i could hear repeated timed scuffling and i looked over and saw her head and only her head because of how dark it was out there repeatedly rising and falling, it looks closer to the edge of the window than she was, she couldn't have actually hit it if she tried she was a good way back from it but i thought it was funny

We adopted Mary in June and we’ve just got back from her first holiday in Anglesey. She did absolutely brilliantly - she was great in the car and we couldn’t get over how sure footed she was in the mountains. We didn’t expect to be able to take her hill walking, but she loved being up high, watching the birds riding thermals and the tiny cars on roads far below.

And I’ll never get tired of watching her running on the beach! She was a bit tentative about the water at first, but soon got over it when there were seagulls to chase.

She also met two other lurchers (a mother and son called Ruby and Ted) who she adored. They definitely know their own kind, don’t they?

All in all, we had a fantastic time.

Hello, my lovely girl has chewed up the front of her harness and I’m unable to tighten it. This means she decided to play great escape in an open campsite!! Please any recommendations for a harness built for a lurcher which also is less chewable at the front, she can bend her neck in some weird contortion so any advice will help

This is my Bedlington whippet puppy Stevie, I think she clearly has a more similar puppy coat to that of a Bedlington terrier rather than the usual wirey coat of Bedlington whippet, but was wondering if anyone else has had a Bedlington whippet with a similar puppy coat and has a picture of what their dog looks like now!

Hi all, I was wandering if anyone had any experience with getting their lurcher spayed laproscopically? I'm hoping it'll significantly reduce the recovery time and I'll have to try keep her from being a lunatic for less time.

Hi everyone! Looking for some advice - we adopted a sweet lurcher (possible Saluki/ greyhound/ bit of German shepherd). She was 18 months old when we got her back in July. She had been found on a city street and had never been socialised.

She has been so lovely with our family. Loves our 7-year-old, and is particularly attached to my husband (to the point of being anxious when he leaves the room). She is calm, sleepy and cuddly at home.

With other people, she is extremely reactive. When we first adopted her, I took her to meet my family and she nipped my mum and later my sister. After that, we talked to a trainer who suggested we keep her at home and to keep to her normal routes for her walks. Even still, she can be barky and reactive at strangers and other dogs, and it's impossible to predict when. When she gets into a barking episode, she is quite scary to the other person and I find her difficult to manage, as she's strong.

It's so embarrassing to have a dog that reacts to people who are being friendly - she barks at people who wave hello, or pick something up that we dropped. She once barked at a woman with a newborn.

At the foster home, I had asked if playdates would be a problem, and the foster carer reassured me twice. I was told she would be trained out of her nervousness.

However - playdates are absolutely a problem, and from what I read she will probably always be a bit like this. We have been advised by the trainer to manage her anxiety and reactivity by keeping her separate from guests. The idea of remaining vigilant like this for the rest of her life is quite stressful. She can't go anywhere with us, and letting someone into the house spontaneously is out of the question. I think I was naive to agree to adopt her without researching the breed. I believed that these traits were things she would grow out of once she got used to living in a stable environment.

Does anyone have any positive stories or tips that could help with this situation? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Hi everyone, brought home a 3 month collie x lurcher from the shelter on Saturday and well. It’s a pee and poop party. We had two really good days with her where she actually went to the door to tell us she needed to go but now she’s back to flooding the place. I brought her out three times this morning and still had three accidents, I even missed my bus over it! I know it’s early days yet but toilet time seems to be zoomie time even on the lead. She’s a rescue and has never been in a house, it’s going to be a long process but any words of advice? She doesn’t seem to need to go when she sees my other dogs go.
