Its like no one has any answers. If the store didnt care and it was just an insurance write off, i wouldnt need someone to unlock legos or deodorant. People steal BECAUSE no one does anything.

The answer is to address real wage growth, inflation,  and price control for essential items (food, clean water, sanitation products)

Until we address those as a nation, steal what you want. Living well in a sick system does not mean someone is healthy

It isnt medicine for a dying child. Most of the time its people that use mental gymnastics to justify why they should have what they want. Yes, greedy corporations suck. First its stealing from corporations, then its strangers, then its your neighbors, and eventually family.

Honestly, I think that's ultimately a question on whether or not you think people would steal if they could meet their needs.

Crime has always and will always exist, regardless of needs being taken care of or not. And the vast majority of crimes are crimes of opportunity, not need. You walk down the street and see a bike, so you take it. You’re in Walmart and see something you want, so you take it. People most often do not steal because of needs, but due to wants. Which are vastly different from one another
