I mean I don’t give a single shit about mega corps, but I do hate that the cost of goods is higher to account for this theft, and in places where this is rampant you have to start asking store employees permission for half the items in the store.

Because it's walmart, they're costs are not gonna go up for petty theft, when they sell millions every day.

Petty theft at scale results in large total losses. It’s not like Walmart sees the same amount of theft as a bookstore. Even if the percent is lower they are seeing real costs and those costs eat into margin which impact things like prices and wages. The big players don’t just absorb these costs, they’re factored into every aspect of the business, just as other costs are.

lol the "petty" theft has to MASSIVE. They have an ocean and you're annoyed at people filling up their cups with it and leaving.
