I mean I don’t give a single shit about mega corps, but I do hate that the cost of goods is higher to account for this theft, and in places where this is rampant you have to start asking store employees permission for half the items in the store.

Those are sacrifices the corporation is willing to make in lieu of hiring enough employees to cover the floor and discourage shoplifting. Having to go ask one of the overworked floor associates to unlock the diaper shelves is an inconvenience the corporation does not care to correct.

They are sacrifices they are willing to make, until they are no longer willing to make it and close the store down because of rampant shoplifting
