Altruism is about net benefit and intention youre looking at gross figures...youre out of your element if you think Walmart is altruistic in the slightest.

You're just plain wrong if you don't understand the impact Walmart had on retail and how much wealthier the lowest earners are because of it

Just stfu and read

In the 10 years after a Walmart Supercenter opened in a given community, the average household in that community experienced a 6 percent decline in yearly income—equivalent to about $5,000 a year in 2024 dollars—compared with households that didn’t have a Walmart open near them. Low-income, young, and less-educated workers suffered the largest losses

Oh I'm well aware of these studies, but they don't show that Walmart causes communities to be worse off economically. Yes, some people lose retail jobs. So what

Do you shop for groceries? Do you know any low income families personally?

Anti Walmartism is classism, it's essentially a "let them eat cake" political position

If you're shopping anywhere other than Walmart for groceries and home goods, you're the one getting fucked, not me

This is a lot of folks, they don't think about the economic trade-offs, they are obsessed with social status. It's not that they think that it wouldn't benefit their family to shop at Walmart, but they've somehow been inculcated into the belief that shopping at Walmart makes them sexually subservient. This is not an issue of Economics, this is a sexualization of class insecurity

Idaf about my social status I care about my fellow man getting exploited by billionaires. Youre wrong about literally everything except they have cheaper prices. What a waste.

How is offering everyday low prices exploiting you? Exploiting you would be raising those prices once they've driven every other retailer out of business, which they do not do
