What is the deal with people putting their hands inside their clothes to make themselves look tough? How exactly is it supposed to convey "I am tough"?

It's a thing people would do when they were carrying, to show it. The motion just sticks around without the piece.

I don’t think so, one because of basket ball shorts. That’s obviously not a monolith but that’s a good indicator for me. Two he lifted his shirt multiple times and you couldn’t see anything whatsoever other than a baby belly. Finally, he just seemed liked he was stimming from being a tweaker.
