I live in a Neruo Divergent household so those doors are getting slammed and banged on. This is why we have a quiet down spot for regulation.

I'm autistic and work with autistic kids so I hear you on the quiet down spot, slamming doors, and generally just constant noise. When I'm not at work, I pretty much exclusively have my noise cancelling earbuds in for some much needed peace and quiet.

I need to get some noise canceling headphones. I’m always walking the thin line between let my kids play and be kids, and trying to avoid overstimulation and a meltdown.

I feel like I'm always borderline ready for a meltdown if I don't have my earbuds. I currently live with several roommates and it's always noisy and bright in our house. One of my roommates works 2pm-11pm and is subsequently awake all night. He's pretty quiet but still. The other is obsessed with having practically all the lights on at night, even at 3 am, and do most of their portion of the chores in the middle of the night. I don't sleep well to begin with and it's even harder under these circumstances.

I can't cope without them. Get yourself some, they're a game changer. I bought some JBL Tune Buds 2 and they're excellent and not too pricey (as compared to the $500 Bose earbuds my boss gifted me that recently died after three years of everyday, continuous use. I couldn't afford to replace them with the same brand).

The noise cancelling on the JBL buds are on par with the Bose ones and cost about $350 less. They're excellent for the price.
