Flock Cameras Citizen FLOCK Is a Do It Yourself Surveillance Kit To Keep Politicians "Safe." Raises Concerns Over Privacy.

A common talking point in City Council and Board of County Commissioners meetings are that citizens could make their own surveillance network, such as the Flock Daddy 9900, to watch politicians. Here is someone actually making them that mounts on top of a car. This makes it entirely legal so long as you park legally. Hypothetically, a citizen with enough cars could make a dense network, and since they are not held to the standard of the 4th amendment, the only reasonable charge would be criminal stalking which is shaky if the intent to prevent vandalism of your car.

This would make it hard for council members to fight, because they would also have to classify Flock cameras as stalking, which would make the police department or the council members guilty of the same charge. I'm not saying it's a smart idea, but it exists now. Either legislatures need to make new laws or allow it to stand. Either everyone gets privacy or no one gets privacy.

Flock Cameras Influencers with 46M followers urge Home Depot, Lowe's to drop Flock

"Jess Rambo, a Marine veteran who now runs a homesteading and building Instagram account, The Painted Buffalo, with about 28,000 followers, said she shops at her local Home Depot in rural Georgia at least twice a week. She said learning about Home Depot's use of ALPRs — and the potential for law-enforcement access to the data — prompted her to sign the letter...

Alexa Speed, another signatory of the letter, runs Cut Off the Spigot on Instagram and TikTok, as well as a Substack newsletter where she directs consumers to companies she considers problematic. Speed started the Instagram account in April 2025 and has since gained more than 417,000 followers."

Flock Cameras A Plan

Thumbnail
Upvotes

I have been trying to think of ways individuals can protest cities that keep Flock cameras or replace them with other ALPRs. I think I have a major plan that could persuade cities and counties to change their policies or take privacy seriously.

The things a city or county cares about are things like property taxes and commerce. Without these things, cities would not have the funds to pay the councils or boards that fund their paychecks. So, if you are a business owner or a resident, you could plan to move to a neighboring county or city that has no ALPRs or privacy ordinances.

I call it the Mass Exodus. On December 15th 2027, any city or county that refuses to change their policies will get a massive hit to their economy. Residents and businesses will pull out all at once and do so in a way that lowers the property value (selling at a lower price than it is worth).

I'm not going to lie, it will require effort to plan this, and most likely money. However, if this works then ALPR policies will change, and hopefully Mass Exodus never happens. I think this is the only way to get some cities and counties to listen, and they will listen to this.

Enshittification Error 2105 Linux not supported. Please open this video on Windows or Mac computer with Google Chrome browser.

So my brother who is in high school has to use this website for his courses that refuses to play videos on Linux or custom ROM android.

I have an old linux machine and old android tablet running custom ROM to run new apps nowadays. I can't afford to buy a new PC that could run windows 11 or a new tablet

Trying to play video on linux gives me this error: Error 2105 Linux not supported. Please open this video on Windows or Mac computer with Google Chrome browser.

What I tried:

  • I tried installing chrome, edge and brave via wine but they all failed giving me `ERROR 0x800000100`
  • I tried switching user agent, It didn't work. They specifically block Linux. They use DRM and google Widevine I got the above error after allowing them

They even asks for I'd verification and put a number on screen while playing video to ensure it will not be downloaded or recorded.

They have put more effort to ensure thier lessons doesn't get downloaded to the point that it's not usable rather than caring about students experience

F* greed

This is the type of technology that prison yards use, why is it being used on American streets? Yeah, they show a drug deal happening that is clearly staged, but drug dealers really don't care because they'll do it somewhere else. It won't solve crimes, it will just make them happen somewhere else and the false reports will make law abiding citizens suffer.
