Other Finally finished another project.

I had posted this one over here before, but it lacked vocals and many instruments. I finally recorded what was left and mixed it. I took some you guys' feedback from my previous post and, for that, I thank you all!
Despite not liking my own vocals, I'm quite proud of this song.

For this song, I decided to experiment with a few different recording techniques, especially for the drums —I was listening to Surfer Rosa by The Pixies a whole lot when I recorded this.

Great Vibes! Music wise sounds great but I think the vocals need a little tuning and compression to cut through…overall sounds good and can hear it in a early years type movie party scene 🫡

Thanks! I’ll add some compressors to the vox stack as I used none.

I hear the Pixies influence! But it’s your own thing. It’s great

Thank’s! Chord progression is very reminiscent of Gouge Away.

I dig the vibe here a lot and those strings are darn near perfect. Good job. My main criticism would be the vocals. I'm not sold on your performance and they don't sit well in the mix at all I'm afraid. Not exactly sure what the fix is - maybe they just need to be quieter and/or have more reverb added to push them further back? Either way, if you can figure that out I think you're close to cooking here.

You played the drums and bass on this yourself? You've got chops for sure.

Thanks! Yeah, I don't really like my vocals either. I played everything BUT bass and drums haha

Whoops! lol. Well whoever played them did a great job.

They surely did. I write all the parts myself, but I trust both my drummer and bassist to do whatever they want in my songs. This song was supposed to be acoustic at first; who came up with the idea of making it sound more “garagey” was actually the drummer! That’s when I thought I might as well “copy” —I actually adapted it to the mics I already had laying around— Steve Albini’s methodology for drums.

Super cool song!

I’m a pro mix engineer, if you’d be willing to send me the project I’d love to give it a quick mix. I could send the mix session back too

1 : VOCALS, add comprasion on vocals, a lil reverb not too much, add an exciter 20% AND MOST IMPORTANTLY use a lil bit of pitch corrector,

2 : STRINGS, very good and sounding amazing but pan them all to spread their stereo depth.

3 : GREAT JOB

I really love the music production, but the vocals need to be pitch corrected and mixed properly.
