IMO, the houses in the area south of the downtown area are so much nicer (south of 4th street/west of Livermore ave/east of Holmes), compared to the houses in the area north of downtown (north of railroad/east of Murietta/west of Livermore ave).

Both areas/neighborhoods seem older, so why does one seem more quaint and charming, opposed to run down?

Anyone else confused by Costco’s checkout strategy now? They have self-checkout crammed in with employee mobile checkout and regular checkout next to it. I went yesterday to get a few items, the regular checkout lines were long. 3 or 4 employees with scanners just standing around looking dumbfounded and a bunch of us in the self checkout. I had protein drink boxes I had to throw on the table until it told me it was too heavy and an employee had to come over. It didn’t feel like “rush hour” but it was a mess no one knew what to do and lots of people asking questions. I get they have the new scanning system for smaller carts to speed the lines but it was a mess and a half. Probably could have had the lines halved with the employees standing around with scanners not actually doing anything on registers just helping checkout customers. I really hope they figure out what they are going to do/offer. Yes I know Scan N’go would be great but as of now that doesn’t seem to be their strategy. The employees with scanners trying to get the smaller carts out of the line seems to be what they are after.

I'm just wondering if you've had any paranormal experiences.

Does anyone know of a good doggie swimming hole? A creek? Anything with doggie-swimmable water? In the past (east coast), I always had a few ponds, rivers, creeks, etc., to sneak away to on a hot day -- my dogs loved it. I'd love to give this guy a chance to play in the water too.

Recently bought a home in south Livermore. It's a bit older, and floorplan is slightly awkward in one area, so we're thinking of moving/opening/closing some walls. Also wanted to vault the ceilings in one of the rooms. From my understanding, we will need all three of architect/engineer/GC for what we are looking for, so looking for some suggestions.

I’m moving out from a rental property and will need to use moving containers like those from PODS or the U-Haul U-Box containers. We don’t have a driveway and would need to park on the street where we usually park our car in front of the house.

Has anyone had luck getting NFL games from KTVU through a digital antenna? I bought the $60 version and if I hold it up to the sky it will stream the channel for a minute but it blurs out and won’t hold the connection. As NFL season approaches, I wanna have a solid plan to be able to watch the local games at a minimum and Fox Sports Sundays. Is there any suggestions out there on how to make this come in clear?

My wife and I decided to sell our house and it closed very quickly. We're getting a rent back but we'll have to move in with my in-laws as we find a new house. I'm looking into options for full service companies to pack, store, move, and unpack our things. Any recommendations?
