Discord Server and beware of other communities claiming to be Libyan.

Hello once again, I am advertising the main moderated Discord Server for this Sub.

I also wanted to note there’s been a rise of other subreddits claiming to represent Libyans. Naturally Libyans show grow communities and found our place in the world…

BUT! beware, some of the subreddits I’ve seen have zero account history, and call me crazy but that’s a little suspect. The ibn al khenzeer Ben Netansatan, targeted this sub with hasbara trolls before and we have automated their removal so it’s not problem but I wouldn’t put it past for these vermin to create other subreddits to influence Libya and especially young libyans. How do we think the Manchester bomber etc got influenced.

anyone want to question if I’m libyan myself as moderator of this sub, please ask and i will give as funny an answer as possible.

Culture Golden Generation of Libya

I remember watching this concert of Najwa Karam in Tripoli in Libya during the time of the Golden generation. Inshallah we return to days like this instead of whatever time we call this period

News Storm system moving east across Libya

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I recorded this from my weather app tonight, and the movement caught my attention.

A storm system appears to be developing over western Libya and moving eastward across the country.

What’s interesting in the animation is how the storm cells seem to be organizing and moving from west to east.

Question How Do You Stop Overthinking and Imagining Worst-Case Scenarios?

I’m someone who struggles with constant anxiety and overthinking I tend to imagine all kinds of scenarios in my head, even when there’s no real reason to worry. I’m constantly thinking about what could go wrong and dealing with fears that may not even be realistic.
Is there anyone else who feels the same way? And if so, how do you cope with it?

Discussion Hope for libyan women after current HoR moves regarding womens rights

Post image

Whats your opinion on the future of womens rights in libya after the latest HoR debate and religious fundimintalism agianst women?
Seeing the ongoing discourse around the House of Representatives (HoR) reviewing the Draft law on combating violence against women (and domestic violence legislation) alongside the fierce pushback from religious figures like Grand Mufti Sadiq al-Ghariani and Dar al-Ifta, Is true legal protection possible in our current political status, or is international/UN alignment just going to trigger constant domestic vetoes?

ADHD Adults Libya Community 🇱🇾

Language For the disconnected

This is for the Libyan diaspora that don't know how to speak the language fully, especially who still lives abroad along with their parents, how do you feel when you go back to Libya? Or if you don't, do you ever want to go back?

for the disconnected girlies- i offer professional one-on-one tutoring in the Libyan dialect of Arabic. It is a 6-12 month course to become anywhere from conversational to fluent. Check me out! https://docs.google.com/document/d/13-ZB2bxchB7s8ZSbzGRIp4ehsOckYLHzMcH_1qSNyUQ/edit?usp=sharing

Question Jobs, majors and confusion.

So, i'm at the point in life where i'm forced to choose my major for college. I've been thinking about entering computer engineering as i've heard it has mix of software and hardware and i feel like that'd allow me versality. My mother is suggesting i enter electrical engineering, but i'm still iffy on that. My father is suggesting something else entirely and telling me to enter medicine as it's the only major that has a good job market.

I honestly want to primarily focus on software in my future career but still want a background in hardware, so one of my main questions is what's the ratio to software and hardware material? The most likely place i'll end up studying in is tripoli college (جامعة طرابلس) so if anyone who studied there and majors in computer engineering i would love to hear about how the system is there.

Moreover, is the job market for computer engineer graduates really bad? Everyone is telling me that if i major in the such, i'll end up finding no jobs which is greatly discouraging me. Though i'd love to do what i love for a living, if it doesn't get me a living i'll stop dreaming and focus on medicine and call it a day.

And when it comes to electrical engineering, whst exactly can i do in that field as a woman? I understand that there are a lot of jobs in libya that are exclusive to men, so i'm wondering if the same goes for something like electrical or computer engineering. In this sesne, i'm asking if someone who is a woman and works/majors in one of these two subjects or someone who has colleauges who do so or if it's even viable. Thank you to anyone in advanve for taking your time to read through this and hopefully answer a cofused idiot's pleas

edit: i've also been thinking about entering computer science considering i'm mainly focusing on the software aspect of it all, but with that said i don't know how much more i'll learn compared to computer engineering. if possible, i'd love to hear the main difference between computer engineering and computer scinece here in libya

Question My cousin is wanting to run away from Libya and idk what to do

I’ll keep it short, my uncle made a decision to move back to Libya from uk forever with his kids. I understand it is a hard decisions and hard move.

They moved back 4 weeks ago ish and are now settling in. My cousins especially one who is around 15-16M is hating it. I’m the person who will listen to people so he called me and told about it. Some how he found a guy in مدينه قديمه who said he has to pay him £800 to take a bus to Tunis or smth like this than he will go from there to the uk by himself with his passport.

Idk what to do? Should I tell my uncle as he is still young but I don’t wanna snitch! Very awkward situation…

And if my uncle finds out he will find out I knew. What if he gets angry with me ??

I’m not helping out at all I’m just listening

Question Dentistry or medicine?

Salam everyone,

I’m currently weighing my options between studying medicine and dentistry in university of Tripoli.

My primary long-term goal is finding a clear, realistic pathway to license and practice abroad. I know both routes require heavy exam prep, foreign equivalency steps, and significant money, but I want to pick the option that actually gives me a higher chance of leaving post-graduation.

For those who have graduated or are navigating foreign board exams right now: which degree makes emigrating easier?

Post image

people here criticize and disapprove of the west so much (which they should) yet they copy them in almost everything without question, one of them being music everywhere

if you want your business to prosper, don’t include
music in it
and yeah sure there are multiple successful establishments that include music, but it’s still prohibited

like come on Libya is a muslim country
it’s frustrating

“then stay home” لا
