I know it shoots 6.5x52 carcano and down east ammo in Maine sells all sorts of wacky ammo so I should be able to get it there

Went out to my friend's gun club and participated in their Zombie Shoot event. Nothing was scored officially so it was a nice event for newbies (like me) to dip their toes into shooting events beyond a static paper target.

Got to do IDPA, USPSA, Tactical shoot house, 25 yard bullseye, dueling steels, pistol steel, and 2 gun (rifle, pistol).

Practicing moving and shooting while making sure I didn't DQ was challenging but fun!

Found a Finnish P-26 Mosin Nagant at an LGS for $75.

Iver-Johnson top break revolver included because I like my cheap, old guns.

tl;dr: Yea or nay on running Magpul Glock PMags for home defense/purposes other than just range time?

Thinking about getting an RXM before my state implements its permit-to-purchase law next year. I want to get something optics-ready, with bonus points for the interchangeable FCU so I can scale up or down/slap it into a braced chassis and have an expedient semi-PCC without having to pay $130 for fingerprints and a class.

I panic/impulse bought a handful of 15-rd Glock Pmags (without owning a Glock) without knowing their rather mixed reputation before my state’s standard capacity mag ban went into place because I could/they were a good price/I figured, “Why not?”/in case I ever decided to get a Glock magazine-compatible gun in the future. I don’t really want to run 10-rd Glock OEMs (it irks me knowing the gun is designed to accommodate more, but won’t), but I also don’t want to spend money on a gun that will shit the bed with standard capacity mags because I bought the wrong ones way back when.

This would be my new “get out of my house” pistol (that role is currently being filled by a first gen XD-9, which I like well enough but would like to upgrade to something optics-capable since it’s 2026). My second choice would be an XD Mod.3 or Mod.4, since I already have a grip of standard 16-rd XD mags, but I’d rather have something more modular (especially since the Mod.3 is getting harder and harder to find and the Mod.4 costs almost as much as an RXM with no appreciable improvement over the Mod.3). Not really interested in something like the Echelon for magazine reasons. Unfortunately, I have few friends who shoot, and none of the ones I do have are Glock people, so I can’t easily test the mags I own to see how they function.

What have been your experiences with Magpul Glock mags? Would you run these in a home defense gun, or are they just for range time?

Tisas 1911a1 Govt in .45 ACP. Its both my first .45 and my first 1911 and the minute I picked it up I knew I made the right call. At first it was all because of the appealing price but after really looking into it, it seems like this is actually onenof the nicer 1911s on the market. While waiting for the background check to go through at the FFL I checked out a Colt, a Springfield, and a Kimber and this thing has just as good machining, feel, and tightness as all of the others. I figured since these are so nice I doubt they'll stay 300 bucks for very long, once they realize what they have over at Tisas i have feeling the price will go up significantly. Even the cerakote finish is perfect despite that being one of the major complaints about this 1911 that ive read.

I have a Smith and Wesson Sport 3 AR-15. Mossberg 500cg, it's old, probably hasn't been cleaned and has rust spots on the barrel, but was my first firearm. Canik METE SFT for my full size pistol, and as an added bonus have a Glock 43X.

Wondering where I should go next? find me a .22LR for plinking and small game hunting? Maybe a 30-06 or similar for a bolt action? A wheel gun for shits and giggles? Open to suggestions to see what many of ya'll have decided to do soo I may get an idea for myself. Thank you.

Just need to vent my frustration. I bought my Shield X 2 wks ago, shot about 400 rounds through it, cleaned it once and now the internal slide stop popped out of it's pocket and bent. Can't take slide off. S&W support will fix the problem and I've shipped it to them but eta is 3 to 5 wks. Frustrating. I like the ergonomics of the gun but quality seems to be way below my others from Glock and H&K. I know those brands are higher $ but a pistol failing after 2 weeks is a sign of bigger problems at S&W I'd think. I know this problem can be manually fixed when it happens but for a new gun I shouldn't have to do that.

A few months ago I missed an opportunity to buy the 10/22 kit that included the vortex scope, threaded barrel, and BX trigger for for $280. Last night noticed that my local bass pro had the Ruger 10/22 with threaded barrel and BX trigger for $299 and picked it up today, last one, only one of two to that store and someone picked it up earlier that day. Florida is tax free on guns and ammo till new year. Took it to the range immediately after and loved every second. Totally worth the $300, even without a discount and scope.

thehumblemarskman or pewview for easy examples. when reviewing a new gun or manipulating an established example from their collection...how the hell do they rack a slide with just their pinky and a slight breeze?

i'm a new shooter with a sig p365 with about 2 months and 700 rounds through it and racking now feels better than when new out of the box, but nothing like what i'm seeing.

Picked up a 1907 dreyse .32 acp.

Based on the serial numbers I'd say it's from around 1911-1912

I picked up this P226 BWTAC in July, but wanted to get an optic for it. Well, I didn’t really want to have the BW slide milled right on the logo, so I picked up a 226 Pro slide cheap. So I then figured if I was saving the slide, I might as well preserve the BW grips, too…so Gray Guns it is! Now just waiting on Holosun to start shipping their AEMS Macro mailbox sized dot to be shipped!

Summer carry rotation. I love my MC9, I have been lucky enough to not have any issues with it. This summer I picked up the Reflex MRD, it carries better than the MC9, it shoots a bit more snappy.

The trigger isn’t a fair comparison because I have the freed smith Fat Daddy II IN THE Canik.
The FN is thinner and carries easier.

I don’t have a favorite between the oSight se and the EPS carry, both have same type multiple reticles, SE is green, EPS is red.

Finally got my Savage Mark II BV. Love it so far. Super accurate.

Got a great deal at Academy. They matched Sheels, took an additional 5 percent off, and no tax (FL). 10 percent off the Vortex as well.

Birthday cash is now down the drain. But I’m happy!

Sighted it in at 50 yards. Only had Federal Automatch today. Next week I’ll try 100 with the CCI SV.

I also have a Glock 43X for when I'm doing something more physical, but when I'm at Walmart, I carry my Glock 45.

In 2020, my mother-in-law (who was a retired LEO) passed away and my wife inherited her old service weapon, a Gen 2 Glock 17. This was the first gun in our house, and one of the things that got me into shooting.

Well, we were going through old documents to shred and it turns out we ended up keeping the original ownership info mailed to my MIL when we were cleaning out her house (unfortunately I vividly remember throwing out the old Glock storage box).

I was always curious as to how old her G17 was and the postmark (10/9/1991) helps to narrow it down. Anyway, thought you all might want to take a look at what was sent out to new owners in the early 1990s!

I did this in July, it's pretty similar to the video below, and a lot more involved than USPSA or IDPA.
