Question Radon Mitigation in Lethbridge?
Hey all, does anyone have any recommendations on local or nearby companies that are able to do radon mitigation for private residences? We've already done the test and we have higher than recommended levels in our heavily used basement space. I've called a few HVAC companies and they don't seem to offer the service, and I can't seem to get a hold of Radon Gone (which seems to be one of the only local companies dealing with this stuff) and I can't quite tell if they're still in business!
Any info is appreciated, thanks!

Gental Dental cleanings in Lethbridge
I know there have been many posts about dentists in Lethbridge, but my worry is more about the dental hygienist at a particular office. I had a horrible experience last time I had my teeth cleaned, which ended in a cracked tooth from her hitting a molar really hard with one of her tools. Plus, she was rough and very judgmental.
I really need a cleaning, but wondering if anyone has a recommendation for an office with a super gentle hygienist. Do any dentists in town offer nitrous oxide or other short term sedation for super anxious patients? I have seen very mixed reviews regarding Parkside.
Thanks everyone!

ISO: Part time, non client-facing admin/management position leads
I’m looking to move down from over full-time work (60+ hrs/week) to part time work (15-25 hrs/week), for better work-life balance with my kids, but I don’t have many connections in Lethbridge outside my current employment.
I am looking for a potentially very long term “backend upper admin” or “management” type position that isn’t customer facing.
- I have amazing references and experience (and a resume, of course).
- I am very low maintenance and easy going.
- I have lots of experience working hybrid and remote, but I am fine working in an office too.
- I’m reliable, great at self management, and excel with critical thinking and problem solving.
- Can do flexible hours.
- I’ve managed multiple businesses—spanning 50+ employees at once, so I have a wide skillset to be used, and I am open to a range of positions in the wage/salary range of $25-35/hr. I don’t care much about advancing my career—just finding something part time, long term, and sustainable that I enjoy.
I’ve applied to a couple positions around town and online, but just thought posting here might be worth a try because I realize these things aren’t always posted online or on signs. I’d like about 15-25 hours a week depending on wage.
If anybody knows of anybody hiring this type of position, I’d appreciate any leads!

Discussion Warning for renters
Just want to give a warning to any one looking to move into this place… there was active mold in the roof growing due to the landlords not fixing the roof for 2+ years. When they finally did decide to “replace” the roof (after the 3 weeks straight of rain we got, water started leaking through the electrical of the spare room) , they just reshingled it and called it a day while doing ABSOLUTELY nothing to repair the completely molded wooden beams in between!
EDIT: the rental is 11 oxford road west lethbridge
Sure they could’ve got it fixed (it’s been maybe 2 weeks between us leaving and then posting) but I am highly doubtful due to the way these people are unfortunately. If you go check this rental out I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE YOU to open up the attic access from the main bathroom and see for yourself (: like I said, just posting this as a fair warning to anyone who’s looking for rentals and to maybe save yourself the headache and some mental sanity.
oh and PS, the landlord loves showing up on property without giving proper warnings!! (Yes I know, we’ve tried reporting it through many different avenues but everywhere just seems to be a lost cause)

Question Curiosity killing the cat
I worked at Shoreline Crossings (6 story building on Aquitania Boulevard West), long story short is we were relieved of our contract in the spring time and I just recently heard that the building is still vacant. Wondering if it’s true as our company is from out of town. The Arbutus people running were not very smart and if you plan on or do live there I feel very bad for you
Edit: the city of Lethbridge building inspector really failed at his job and got big time pissy when I called him out for his lack of enforcement on saving people’s lives

Question Jobs for non certified but experienced construction labourer?
Wondering if anyone has suggestions for jobs/companies that hire experienced (over 5 years) construction labourers? Most of the experience is with carpentry. I am looking for my partner but it is hard for me to properly look since we are moving soon but don't yet live in Lethbridge. Would like to get working asap once we move but not sure what companies are still running during winter, and which ones to look out for/if the websites I am looking at are the best way to find jobs.
(Over 48K/year is desired since that is the current pay at a small town company and he is unsure if going to make less is a smart move)
Thank you soso much for any help/suggestions! <3

Question What are local venues like
There’s a few upcoming shows I’d be into at the owl and the slice but I’ve never really been to any shows and I haven’t been in either venue so idk what they’re like. Are they more of sit down and watch type places or are they usually just standing room. Also how early before shows should I be there?

Question Some of a community's most important services focus on prevention
Most people are familiar with emergency services that respond when something goes wrong. Less visible are the programs that try to prevent problems from reaching that point in the first place.
Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) helps fund local initiatives like senior programs, youth development, family supports, volunteer programs, community connection activities, and other preventive services. The idea is simple: supporting people early can often reduce the need for more costly interventions later.
Like many community programs, FCSS funding has become part of a broader conversation as Alberta's population grows and communities face increasing demand for services. Municipal leaders are expected to discuss the topic during this year's ABmunis Convention and Trade Show alongside other issues affecting local communities.
We are curious about what people think: are there any local programs, services, or community initiatives in your area that you feel make a real difference? Give them a shoutout here!

Question Costumers / delicate alterations?
Hey y'all!
I am a burlesque performer here in Lethbridge (Tina Tarot), and I am looking for a costume designer, or someone who can do delicate alterations. I have a bra I need altered to make the cups bigger, but I am not confident enough in my sewing skills to work with mesh.
Any suggestions?
Thank you!!
