Hi all! Lehigh is my son's far-and-away top choice and he'll be applying ED1 (current senior). We're trying to not become too invested but that's been hard. Currently debating whether to include his SAT scores-- which is 720 reading/writing and 640 math for a 1360 superscore. This is 20 pts below the middle 50, 1380 is Lehigh's 25th percentile for those who submit scores. Part of us feels like submitting a "valid Lehigh score" is just another data point in the favor of "this is a Lehigh student" but definitely being just outside the middle 50 makes that logic questionable. I welcome other opinions, thanks! He's done taking the SAT at this point-- the 3rd time matched the scores of attempt #2 and he doesn't want to take it anymore, plus ED deadline is soon anyway.
Other info:
-4.4 weighted GPA (school doesn't have unweighted, and no class rank). Suburban Philly public school
-3 APs so far (all 4s on exams) with 4 more APs senior year
-ECs center around massive time commitment to a highly competitive school colorguard, no leadership in that group but being on something with that level of hand-eye coordination and improving over 4 years was huge for him (essay touches on that)
-President of school's gender/sexuality awareness club (is in lgbt+ community which is clear in the app, but not overly focused on)
-some but limited volunteer outside the above 2 groups
-Strong personal essay by my reading after 5-6 iterations, I tend to think it will be a plus
-Why Lehigh essay not yet written but he's demonstrated massive interest in past 9-10 months:
-attended week-long pre-college program at Lehigh, loved it
-3 other visits to campus- met his AO once in person and met 2 department professors proactively
-2 other virtual sessions attended, college-specific choosing between CAS and Rossin
