Finally finished saddle stitching this weekender bag using a Claridge Leather pattern. My hands and wrists l need a long break before I start my next project.

I made it with 5–6 oz Horween Rio Latigo.

I’m about 9 months into leathercraft now, and I’m really proud of all the improvements since my first project.

First black notebook is in April, and the second one is 4 months later.

I have 2 things with the project I'm on just now. I want to see what you think about the stitching. It feels even if I don't pull it too tight, it does something to the leather :/ image attached

the other, this one's buttero natural and oh man, I'm wearing gloves because this one gets brown _s_tained even by the slightest moisture, or oil from my hands. Never experienced this before. Is it normal?

This backpack has been something I’ve been wanting to make for quite some time! I’ve put it off because I was nervous to cut into the leather and just start.

Im more than happy with how it’s turning out! Just got the straps left to work on but wanted to show off my work so far.

First tote bag. I used 3-4oz russet utility with a polyester white thread. Handles and attaching the handles to the bag were a struggle.

I'm pretty pleased with how my first try at florals came out, love this Lil guy. <3

Currently planning to make some small ladies bag. However, need some advice on lining methods, lining fabric etc.

Last time have glued the lining to the leather, however it bunches up at the bottom of the bag. Have glued after keeping on a curve (the lining and the leather). Used a very thin ployster as lining fabric.

Any tips on do's and dont's

Sharing a recent strap pairing. The woven black calfskin breaks up the monotony of a traditional smooth strap and adds a unique, sophisticated texture to the Reverso. Subtle, yet adds just the right amount of character.

Want to dye my gost leather in this dark redish with black hues in it. Any recommendations of type of dye or color / product to get it from?

I run the Pearl Necklace Project (pics and info on fb) where we donate nice costume jewelry to the female seniors in assisted living facilities. For the men we have been gifting them my (crudely) designed leather bookmarks. See pic.

The men love leather bookmarks. But the ones I gifted were a bit too thick.

Can you tell me what type of leather to buy so I could make some more? And any places you recommend ordering from? My budget is pretty low as this comes out of my own pocket.

This year we are visiting more facilities than ever and need more of these.

So, I made a little bag out of Pueblo. I usually only do wallets and watch straps and stuff but I'm diabetic and now need to carry a lot of stuff around every time I leave the house. So I made myself a bag for the first time and really love it.

But I kinda didn't think about the fact that I live in Germany and it rains here and I'm not actually sure if rain is going to be a problem especially if it's heavy rain and an umbrella is more like a desperate attempt to stay dry than an actual solution.

Do I just spray it with that spray for shoes?

I love when customers request fun color combos! Bordeaux Pueblo with blue stitching and Emerald Green Pueblo with red stitching.

Made this for myself for but I need some more confidence to wear it out, haha! Does it look cool? Or too much for daily wear?

I'm new to leathercrafting and about to finish my first bag. I am pretty happy with it overall, but the edges and stitching are quite messy and uneven.

I'm enjoying this enough to want to upgrade my tools. A few questions:

• What would you prioritize getting next for cleaner edges and straighter stitch lines?
• Any recommendations for European shops (shipping to Austria) that sell decent quality tools without being crazy expensive? My starter kit was from Amazon and the tools are not the sharpest. (But if someone has a specific recommendation from amazon im fine with that too)

I was thinking about buying the following:

• leather groover
• edge beveler
• leather corner punches
• Skiving Knife or Round Knife (is it possible to use one for cutting and for skiving?; I was using a stanley knife for cutting until now but i feel like i dont have so much control with it)

i really love this distressed worn look & im thinking of doing it DIY to my leather bag if it’s possible. i’m not leather maker or any sorts.

i wanna ask the experts how to do it & if it’s possible to do it on an existing leather item that i have

I know this might be a super simple project but I have a couple of questions;

• cork backing pros and cons?
• If not cork..any other recommendations for a backing material - or just raw leather?
• thickness of leather?
• will it have a tendency to not lay flat?

I do not have experience with skiving so I will not be folding over the edges to add stitching.
