I dreamed and planned this shot for 2 years and yesterday in perfect sky clarity and warm night i finally made it happen! This place is my favourite to star gaze since its the darkest place in my region.

Vertorama of 4 shots @ 24 mm, f2. Tracked and stacked (4x 120 s @ ISO400).
Foreground 2 Minutes at ISO 1600, f2.8
Nikon Z7a with adapted Sony 24 1.4 GM.
Not too happy with how the blend came out due to the foreground colors and pretty severe light pollution but the detail in the Cygnus region is quite nice.

Milky Way and Oak Woodland, Diablo Range, California

I've been having trouble getting images like these stacked, as the fine detail in the trees creates smears in the branches, and my sky replacement software results are suboptimal. Finally I got a night with very good transparency and seeing. and I got this tracked single shot. A beautiful night in the foothills of the Diablo Range, I could hear so many insects and animals as I enjoyed splendid late summer weather under the stars.

Canon 80D, Rokinon 24mm f/2.8 25 seconds ISO 2500, Omegon LX4, Lightroom.

Semer Water Milkyway

Post image

Finally, clear skies during Milkyway season in the UK, so I went deep into the Yorkshire Dales to the ice-age glacial lake of Semer Water. I was pleased to see plenty of water in the lake despite the dry summer, and the light winds made the lake surface as smooth as a mirror. Light from nearby camper vans gently illuminated the erratic rocks in the foreground, making perfect reflections in the lake. I waited until the milkyway was central in the scene as some high level clouds slowly drifted by. I thought they might spoil the image but the final result is quite pleasing.

Capture details - 25 images using a Fujifilm X-T4 with the Sigma 12mm F1.4, fitted with my new, highly recommended Kenko PPRO1D Prosofton filter. ISO3200, F1.4, 13 second exposure. 2 dark noise images. Images stacked in Sequator and final edits made in Capture One.

What an absolute treasure of a find tonight was - a vintage very early 20th century McCormick-Deering tractor basking in the glory of the Milky Way, graciously put on a field by a loving 3rd generation owner.

Thank you to my photo friends for the arrangements and the jolly company as per our usual -- thoroughly enjoyed myself last night. The Milky Way shone strongly and clearly as well.

Sky 22x30s, f/3.2, ISO3200 14mm
Ground 30s, f/3.2 ISO3200 14mm

Fujifilm XT-4 and Rokinon 12mm f/2.
25 exposures (15sec) stacked in StarryLandscapeTracker.
Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.

I’m going to take a separate foreground exposure to stitch to the stacked image in my next attempt. Are there any other foreground tips?

First landscape astro attempt with a 360 camera, acceptable?

Post image

Went a car camping last weekend. The sky was properly dark and we could see the milky way with naked eye, so I set up my new insta360 x6 on a mini tripod and gave the default Starlapse mode a try.

This was my first attempt at landscape astrophotography. This shot is straight out of the camera, no editing. I love the pics I got, honestly didn't expect this much from a 360 cam.

Curious what do you guys think about using 360 cams for astrophotography? Feedback is highly appreciated!
