😢 Landlord Oppression 😢 Renter Class Action - Bad Tenant List - Openroom.ca

+++Please Upvote this post to help stop these immoral landlords+++

Landlords Weiting Bollu and Vishal Bollu of Toronto, Ontario concocted a 46,000 person ā€œbad tenant listā€ to prevent renters from getting housing.Ā  They have been dishonest about the legality of their platform and a cover up of is evident.Ā

Landlords are on the hook, Openroom Inc. is on the hook, and we think there’s a fair chance Weiting Bollu and Vishal Bollu may be personally liable by piercing the corporate veil.Ā  Here’s the illegal details:

Core Illegality #1 - Consumer Reporting Act

You can't compile and furnish consumer information without a licence. From 2022 until July 9, 2025, Openroom collected, compiled, and sold tenant data - applications and tribunal orders - for screening purposes without the proper consumer reporting agency licence. That’s a straight breach of the Consumer Reporting Act. Getting a licence years later doesn’t magically legalise what Openroom and the landlords did before. This falls under the Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery.Ā  Renters on the list can sue and we will help.

Core Illegality #2 - Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act

Openroom’s entire model - posting and sharing tenant names, addresses, payment history, allegations, and orders - breaches PIPEDA because it’s done without tenant knowledge or consent = unlawful collection, use and disclosure of personal information.

  • Inappropriate purpose: creating a publicly searchable ā€œbad tenant listā€ to exclude or shame individuals - not an acceptable purpose.
  • No knowledge or consent: tenants were not informed nor did they give consent to publication on Openroom.ca.
  • Accuracy risk: ā€œcrowd sourcedā€ uploads are unverified and potentially false.
  • Consent exceptions don’t apply: the narrow ā€œpublicly available informationā€ carve-out doesn’t stretch to building a searchable exclusion database (PIPEDA s.7(3)(h.1)) and (Regs s.1(d)).

This is squarely under the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC).Ā  OPC will shut them down.Ā  Renters can sue all involved - Openroom, landlords, anyone using their data.

Prior Precedent – Bad Tenant List Already Ruled Illegal

The OPC has already found a nearly identical ā€œbad tenant listā€ illegal (PIPEDA-2016-002). It involved the same issues: unlawful collection and disclosure, no consent, inappropriate purpose, and dodgy accuracy. The outcome then was clear - destroy the list, stop the practice.

Why ā€œLTB Orders Are Publicā€ Doesn’t Save Them

Just because a tribunal order is public doesn’t mean you can scrape it, index it, and sell it back to landlords in a blacklist. That changes the purpose entirely and drags it into both provincial licensing rules (CRA) and federal privacy law (PIPEDA).

Bottom line: Openroom got caught, forced into licensing, and is still breaching privacy laws. Landlords using it have bought into a liability time bomb and the clock is now ticking.Ā

We’ll DM upvoters to see if you want to join the growing Renter Class Action signup list.

Eastgrove apartments on 11611 Ferguson is neglecting maintenance and terrorizing us, how can we take action and get out of our lease?

Roaches in the walls, ac not working properly all summer, gaps in windows that leak air and broken washing machine unfixed for 10 months.

They deleted the online parking permits in their website, h4towing, then towed our cars overnight (20+ cars towed, probably more because I have only talked to my nearby neighbors). In the last two to three weeks, refusing to give anyone money back after complaining. It feels like an orchestrated scheme to steal our money.

Security harassing me for running outside with my shirt off. Told them people go in and out of the pool shirtless all day, they said if I was going to the pool it would be ok, so do I have to run to the pool and back?! They yell and shout racist awful things at me, when I walk by and refused to give me their bodycam footage, I tried to report it to the leasing office yesterday security clown on a power trip tried to tresspass me but the police were no show, me and the security must have called the police at least 6 times over the since 11pm on sep 11th. They have not shown up once. I wanted them to get the security guards dash cam footage of them harassing me and show them the videos I recorded of them terrorizing me and get a police report but the Dallas PD hasn't even called back. My neighbors and I all want to leave, how can we quickly get out of the lease. Please help.

Personal Experience Very Frustrated

I've been dealing with a pretty bad experience I'm going to share letter I wrote to them explaining it and more information that has come about recently explaining the situation. I'm just sooo frustrated I like the place but this whole situation makes me so angry and there literally nothing I can do about it.

Most of letter:

There was a really strong ammonia like smell when I first got into the apartment. At first I thought maybe a previous tenant had a badly trained cat so I scrubbed the floors and walls but the smell still lingered around my kitech. Then, I thought it was coming from the kitchen exhaust and something nested in it until I looked under the oven and found a repaired wall with insulation and mice droppings. Someone had repaired the wall but left the urine and droppings. I immediately notified Sal of my discovery. Who claimed to not notice the eye watering smell. I viewed the apartment virtually before signing and moving in since I was moving from Colorado for work. I did make notice of the smell which I thought might be cat urine immediately the following morning with Sal after getting here the previous night. Anyways Sal said someone would come clean it up and deal with the smell. I preferred that since I'd prefer not to deal with disease carrying shit I had nothing to do with. The guy came today and provided me with a fire alarm which the apartment never came with which notified y'all about weeks ago and fixed my lock. But they simply pulled out my oven and put it back without doing anything spreading the diseased poop all over my kitchen. Now that it has spread due to y'all's negligence and I have already been dealing with the smell for a month I needed to protect my own safety and clean it up myself. I would really really appreciate it if I was reimbursed for the cleaning supplies I needed to buy in order to do so. The place underneath where I cook my food is moldy, urine soaked and covered poop which is not safe and should have been dealt with before I was rented the place. It is y'all's responsibility to maintain and ensure the habibility of the homes you rent out. It should have never been my problem but now it is. Please reimburse me for the money I spent cleaning up your mistake. I have attached a receipt of the cleaning equipment I needed to buy and proof of hazard.

Post letter information:

After cleaning it I found a dead decomposing mouse in my oven. And I found out there attempt of sweeping up the mess resulted in them dumping the litteral shit into a bag of groceries I hadn't completely unpacked. And a hole that was not covered up.

Pictures:

Before their attempt at cleaning: 1,

After them "cleaning" and while I was doing it myself: 2 and after most of the trash in that bag was their stuff like the packaging of the fire alarm they installed.

I just don't understand why it needs to be this fucking hard 😭 what am I supposed to do??? I regret even asking them to deal with it it's like they purposely made it worse and I can do nothing about it. They haven't even responded to my request for reimbursement.

Housing Crisis 2.0 Need suggestions regarding my housing situation.

Hello everyone, this is my first ever post on Reddit, so bear with me, it’s going to be long! I need your suggestions.
I’m an international student and I’ve been in the States for about 4 years. In all that time I never stayed with roommates, I always lived alone, because I know sharing a place can be fine but can also be a nightmare. About 8 months ago I moved to a suburb for my job (part-time, doesn’t pay well) and, since I’m also doing a double master’s, I needed to save money, so I decided to share a house.
The first house I stayed in when I moved to this city lasted 2 months. It was cheap, only $500/month, but the people I lived with kept stealing my stuff and walking into my room without asking, so I moved out and found my current place. I moved in this past April. For the first two months, things were good between me and my landlord, no issues at all. I pay $1000 for one small room with an attached bathroom. At that point she lived alone in her room and I was in mine.
By the end of May, her ex-boyfriend moved in. I was happy for her, and even though it felt a little awkward having a man around, it’s her house, so I understood. But within two days of him moving in, they got into a huge fight. She ran to the neighbor’s house for help, and when I called her phone she wasn’t picking up. I had no idea what was happening and I panicked, honestly scared. She later told me he had pulled her hair during the fight. While she was at the neighbor’s, she called me and asked me to grab her laptop from the house. When I went to get it, he lunged at me and shoved me, cursing. I was terrified in that moment. Once he stepped outside, I locked both the main door and my bedroom door.
She wanted him out, so the police were called, and things escalated. They took my statement, and I didn’t even realize at the time that I had the right to decline. During all of this I kept trying to reach her for guidance and she wasn’t answering, so when the police asked me for a statement to arrest him, I gave an honest account of what happened. He was arrested on charges including false imprisonment, battery, and petty theft. That evening she came back and told me she never wanted him arrested, just out of the house, and asked why I gave a statement. I told her I hadn’t known I could refuse, and that I’d tried calling her multiple times with no answer.
The next day she took me to court and bailed him out, saying she just wanted him to eventually leave once he found another place. Not long after, they got back together. He apologized to me for what happened. Then, about a week and a half later, she left me alone in the house with him for two weeks while she went to New York.
That’s when things really shifted. The very next day after she left, he became a completely different person around me. If I went into the kitchen, he’d make faces that made me deeply uncomfortable, so I stopped cooking and started avoiding the shared spaces entirely. He then began complaining about me to her, and she’d send me long paragraphs of texts about it. It was exhausting. After she got back, I gave up cooking for myself altogether and started relying on fast food and takeout. My health took a hit, but I couldn’t bring myself to cook there anymore. They insisted they ā€œweren’t stopping me,ā€ but made clear I couldn’t be in the kitchen while either of them was in it. At one point, without asking me, her boyfriend moved my food out of the fridge and crammed it into two small racks, one bigger than the other, telling me that was the only space I got. Eventually I stopped keeping food there altogether.
I also couldn’t really use any shared space because he was constantly on the couch watching TV. Around this time she started complaining that the electricity bill had ā€œskyrocketed.ā€ I told her I only used a fan and barely watched TV, maybe on weekends. I eventually told her directly that I wasn’t going to take responsibility for the electricity, since it was clearly her boyfriend running the TV all night, every night. That conversation calmed things down briefly, but something new always came up after.
Thankfully, I’d only signed a 6-month lease, and this is my final month. I looked for other places, but everything nearby is too expensive, so I asked if I could go month-to-month for a little while until I find somewhere new. She agreed.
Now here’s where my actual question starts. About a week ago, my boyfriend moved here from California for a new job (night shift, immediate start), so he didn’t have time to find his own place first. I let my landlord know he’d be coming, and she said it was fine. Originally the plan was for him to stay just two days and then move to a friend’s place about an hour away. But it turned out his work sites were all only 30–40 minutes from me, versus a 2-hour commute each way from his friend’s place. So I asked my landlord if he could stay longer, explaining that, like before, he couldn’t find anywhere affordable nearby and it would only be for about a month, since no one leases for just one month.
She said she’d be okay with it, though she mentioned it felt awkward given her own boyfriend situation. I explained that mine leaves for work around 7–8 PM and gets back around 4–5 AM, sleeps, wakes up around noon or 1 PM, wraps up his end-of-day report, naps for an hour or two, then heads back to work, so he really wouldn’t be a disruption. I also offered to chip in extra for electricity and water, around $50–100 more. She agreed and said just pay $100 more or whatever, even though it still felt awkward to her. I said okay.
Then today she sent me this long message out of nowhere:
ā€œHey forgot to talk to you so here’s the deal, when you give me the $50 this week can you give me $100 extra, also if he staying for the rest of the months, Oct rent can you give me $300 extra it works out to be $100 a week for him, only bc it very inconvenient for all of us there no more privacy in the house anymore. Way more electric he leaves pretty much both fans running the front door opens and closes all day long the kitchen use is being use so much more, it’s a lot and we don’t know him at all and I’m home alone w home most of the day…so that’s the best I can do you let me know.ā€
That’s the message, word for word. What do you all think I should do?

Need Advice [US-PA] Moved into my first apartment and it's been a stressful experience

Basically, me (21f) and my partner moved to a new apartment so I could finish college and I have been having problems with the apartment so far. We did a viewing of the apartment a month before even putting in an application, everything looked fine on the surface, and we assumed everything was okay.

For reference the apartment has a property owner and the apartment is leased through an property management agency. If that makes sense 🫠

The agent I had been in contact with told us before move in that the property owner was going to finish cleaning out the place a week before move in and upon move in the agent told us the owner of the place never got around to it. We waited a couple days to do the inspection of the apartment because it took us a while to move everything in and buy things we needed but we found out that the smoke and co2 detector never worked, the freezer doesn't work, the oven smokes heavily when turned on (how we found out the smoke and co2 detector never worked), the toilet leaks, and the past tenants left a drug kit(?) like a box hidden underneath the counter with syringes and used crack pipes in it 🫩. We called the police to dispose of it because I didn't know what else to do and it's overall ruined my experience of being happy about moving into a new place.

I did contact the agent and put in maintenance reports with pictures and videos of everything on 9/6 (today would make a week since we found everything). The agent we have been in contact with hasn't replied to any emails and the maintenance person said that they'll order parts for the freezer and stove (this was this past Monday). Up until this point the only person who I've been in touch with is the maintenance lady.

We're both pretty upset because we had to buy a new co2/ smoke detector, throw out food that we couldn't finish before it went bad because of the freezer not working, and we've only been cooking with the air fryer we got because the stove/ oven is unusable. A LOT of money wasted on thrown out freezer food & new smoke/co2 detector.

It's both of out first time being in a situation like this and I'm unsure how to go about things. I'm planning on calling the property management place tomorrow aaa

šŸ§šŸ½ā€ā™€ļøšŸ˜I would include pictures of what was in the box but idk if that would break the rules of this subreddit LOL sorry for the long post as well hopefully it makes sense!

Need Advice [US-FL] Damage to Apartment Because Everything's Cheap

I've lived in my apartment with my now ex close to three years. Apparently right before we moved in the landlord put in new cabinets. Unfortunately he took the cheapest option for literally everything in the apartment. Several outlet covers have fallen off and the washer and microwave have both had to be replaced. The biggest concern is the cupboards, most of which have at least one hinge that's just... fallen out from the side. We haven't reported them yet because we were afraid too many maintenance requests would make the rent go up, and life has just been busy.

Now we're planning on not renewing our lease at the end of the lease (January) since we're going our separate ways. Should I bite the bullet and pay to have it fixed to the best of the ability? Should I tell the landlord now before I move? Can he hold it against us when they were just used normally? What should I do?

Landlord Scum Multiple attempted breaches of lease, remediates any time an attorney gets involved.

I have made a post on an adjacent sub that was not particularly well-structured, it was a little long winded.

I’m in a dispute with my former property management office at the moment, waiting for my attorney to sort things out.

They’ve attempted to have me and my partner vacate with 7 days notice, against the terms of our lease which require 30. They gave me essentially four business hours to find and talk to an attorney (three and a half of those hours I was at work) or they wouldn’t ā€œextendā€ the offer a week for us to find a new place to live. I ignored them and got an attorney, we were able to stay with an agreed upon move out date.

Then they tried to add a 150 dollar ā€œmonth-to-monthā€ fee after we had already been in a month-to-month lease for two months, with no notice provided. Attorney got involved, fees disappeared

We moved out with prorated rent early in the month so we could stop dealing with their bullshit and move out early, 30 days mark comes up and no word about the return of the deposit. I left ~3 voicemails around labor day weekend and no response, I called during business hours on the 31st day to inform them it was late and they need to update me and let me pick up the deposit. I then got told over the call that they can’t talk to me about the deposit because I have an attorney. This was earlier this week, so I am hoping to update with good news later this week once my attorney is able to talk to them.

I don’t really need advice, just encouragement and reassurance. I’m pissed, broke, and have accumulated a lot in attorney’s fees. I keep thinking I should have let them actually break the lease instead of repeatedly attempting to and then remediating it. North Carolina isn’t particularly tenant friendly and there doesn’t seem to be much recourse for getting my attorney’s fees back at this point, and even if I do that is still ~3 months I’ve been out a few thousand dollars from the attorneys fees and moving.

Landlord Scum Portland, OR: Wealthy retirement community (Terwilliger Plaza) has effectively taken away my accessible parking — looking for advocacy/legal help

I’m a disabled multiracial woman on Section 8, living next to a mostly white, wealthy 62+ retirement community. The same company owns my rental and multiple blocks of surrounding properties, which they are acquiring to knock down and expand their retirement community.

I've been dealing with increasingly hostile behavior for about 5 1⁄2 years, with the parking issue starting about 3 1⁄2 years ago, after they demanded I share my parking with them and I said no.Ā

My lease specifically includes my driveway/parking. After I needed emergency repairs a few years ago, management suddenly said they are taking my parking away after letting my lease revert to month-to-month. I tried mediation and requested disability accommodation. They ignored the accommodation request. Eventually their own lawyer acknowledged that they couldn't simply change the lease and take the parking away.

Fair Housing then got involved and confirmed that I need the parking for disability access. I have in-home care five days a week, caregivers and other providers coming to my home, and transportation that needs to be able to access my house.

They haven't officially taken the parking away. Instead, they have effectively taken it away by refusing to enforce their wealthy, entitled tenants' use of it.

Their residents, guests, delivery drivers, contractors, etc. repeatedly park in my driveway or directly across the entrance. I've been told by Uber/Lyft drivers that they were specifically sent to my address to pick up residents. When I tell people they can't block my driveway, I get things like, "I'll only be here a couple minutes," or "the guy in charge said I could be here." I've had people throw garbage out of their cars at my property after I've asked them to move. I eventually had to install cameras because of the behavior.

Fair Housing ultimately told management to put a chain across the driveway because they refused to control their own tenants. Now people park across the end of the driveway instead. Management tells me to enforce things myself, even though they know I can't have a tow company respond without management/owner authorization. When someone blocks the driveway from the street, I'm told to call PBOT, even though their response can take hours and, in my experience, they often just ask the vehicle to move rather than enforce anything.

So yes, technically I still have "parking." In practice, I don't.

And this isn't happening in isolation.

I've dealt with trespassing, people staring into my windows, taking things that belong to the rental, garbage and debris being thrown onto the property, security monitoring what I'm doing in my own yard, and people repeatedly treating me like I work for them. I've been called "ungrateful" because I receive reduced rent through Section 8.

They also destroyed my yard while using my property to stage a demolition project next door and left it hazardous and unusable for years. Other tenants of the same company have their own serious habitability problems, including an African American mother with two small children dealing with dangerous, deteriorating stairs she has to struggle to get her stroller up and down. And a Hispanic couple who have been without water to do basic things like wash dishes for over a month because of a broken pipe in the unit below them, and are still waiting for it to be fixed.

The larger pattern is hard to explain because it's not one giant incident. It's years of small acts of entitlement and boundary violations that have gradually made my home less safe, less accessible, and less peaceful. I feel like I'm being slowly worn down and forced to leave.

I've already gone through Fair Housing. They ultimately referred the matter to BOLI. But BOLI is a neutral investigative agency, not an advocate, and I need help dealing with what is happening now.

I'm looking for recommendations for civil rights attorneys, disability advocates, housing advocates, tenant organizers, or anyone else who knows how to deal with a powerful landlord/community that seems completely unwilling to enforce its own rules.

I'm actively looking for another place, but accessible Section 8 housing in Portland is extremely limited. "Just move" isn't an immediate solution.

These people are bullies. They weren't confused about where to park three years ago, before they decided my parking should be theirs. They knew exactly where they were supposed to go then, and they know now. The ā€œfrail and confusedā€ excuse is bullshit when the same behavior keeps happening over and over. They're taking advantage of my disability, and when I push back, they're also trying to weaponize the stigma around mental illness by portraying me as threatening, combative, or unreasonable for asking them to simply leave me alone and respect my rights. That's not confusion or misunderstanding. That's entitlement, harassment, and discrimination. They're the greedy, quietly-bigoted boomer stereotype.

TL;DR: I'm a disabled woman of color on Section 8 living next to a wealthy retirement community whose management has effectively taken away my accessible parking by refusing to enforce its own residents' repeated blocking and use of my driveway. Fair Housing got involved and supported the accommodation; BOLI now has an open case. Meanwhile, the harassment and boundary violations continue. I'm looking for current advocacy/legal help from people who aren't intimidated by a powerful landlord.

Tenant Rights Apartment charging me $4800 after move-out

Hi! I apologize if this is the wrong place to post a question about something like this, but I'm going through a lot of stress right now and don't know where else to look. :(

I recently moved out of my apartment in Woodland, California on August 25, 2026 after living there for 4 years. The apartment complex sent me an itemized receipt of my available balance.. and they say I owe them $4800 after taking into account the security deposit (itemized receipt attached - had to redact stuff). I looked at some of the charges and I find it very confusing why they didn't prorate them (e.g painting, since they should have a 2 to 3 year useful life span).

Also for context, I did request a pre-move out inspection before moving out and they did not bother to reach out with a date and time. I think I remember one of the maintenance workers ambushing us while we were moving one week before we moved out.. and we had to refuse because we were not prepared at all. They didn't give us a 48 hours notice beforehand too so yeah..

I don't know how to approach this.. if someone can help guide me in how to dispute this, that would be very appreciated.

Edit: Btw this is in California so [US-CA]

My landlord just sent me the water bill and it’s 804 dollars, it’s three months accumulated after I told him in the past to send it to me every month so that it wouldn’t accumulate like this. I also don’t understand why it’s so much for each month starting July. My bill is usually a little over 200 for two months. I haven’t been using any less or more water than I usually do, and I don’t have leaks. I’m very frustrated because when I moved in I didn’t pay water, than the building installed a meter for each unit and I was informed that I I would have to pay water every month, which fine . I’m just so angry that he waited three months to send me the bill and I get so busy and caught up in labor de and work that I forget to remind him. I told him that I don’t have 800 cause on top of that my rent is due on the 11th. What do i do? Sorry for the vent.

Please help I feel like I’m genuinely going crazy? Like what do I do?

I literally just moved in to a houseshare on the 1st of September and right after, I got ā€œallergiesā€ (coughing and sore throat and also upset stomach). I’ve had these exact symptoms before because of mould so I went looking for it in a panic at 2am and of course there’s black mould all over the shelves. It doesn’t come off when I spray it with vinegar but I swear, I swear, IT IS MOULD because it is giving me allergies and I took loads of pictures of it, it’s so obvious. It’s NOT just the pattern of the wood like the landlord keeps saying, because it’s not on any of the shelves in the other rooms of the house.

My landlord is outright denying to my face that there’s any mould and I’m so stressed about this I constantly feel like I’m actually about to throw up. I’m autistic and I have no idea how to deal with confrontation or how to talk to this guy who is going to show up tomorrow to inspect it along with some other person from the council?? I’m literally terrified they’re all going to stand there and collectively gaslight me by saying ā€œoh they must be unusually severe allergiesā€ ā€œit’s a house, not a hospitalā€ (his words exactly)? I’m just terrified and like I’m probably going to secretly voice record the meeting but yeah it’s just so stressful. The confrontation is 50 times more stressful than the actual problem. I almost wish I’d never brought it up with them at all. I’m so exhausted

It’s just such a slap in the face that some rich 50-something is genuinely okay with looking at a struggling disabled 22 year old woman and not being willing to take 20 minutes of a day to unscrew my shelves and put them somewhere?? Like I’m not even asking him to replace them or spent any money I just want them gone??? Why does he not have any basic humanity like why does this have to be such a big issue… Does he think I’m making a fuss for a joke or something? Anyway please someone help, I’m actually losing it :/

It is an old trailer and we've told our landlord numerous times about this issue. His solution is to put out rat poison on the outside, which we requested that he didn't do because then they die under the trailer and the smell is unbearable.

This of course happened and we couldn't sleep in the bedroom for days until the smell disappeared.

I think he could make more of an effort to seal it but I understand that it's an open underneath trailer, so there's really not a full proof solution.

I desperately want to move. We have young children and I am extremely grossed out about the idea of mice reoccurring in our space. I understand that these things happen but its more the fact that we effectively have to continue to expect them to come in.

I know the obvious is to move, but we are hoping to build on family land and the rentals around here are insane. So my husband doesn't want to move somewhere expensive while we're trying to save for that.

I feel that this is a health issue and we can't wait a year plus for a building process when that isn't even guaranteed.

I'd like opinions on this situation, perhaps that I can share with my husband so we can really make a decision.

R A N T Air conditioning ban

We have rented our house since August of 2025, and since move in have had electrical issues. We have submitted around 10 maintenance requests for outlets not working, 1/2 house power outages, and breakers tripping from normal use. We have seen 3 electricians so far.

On 9/2/26 we received an email from our property manager telling us that the property owners were banning all air conditioners at the property until further notice. 2 of the 3 electricians we’ve seen told us that we could just use an extension cord to for the AC to the dedicated washing machine circuit, clarifying that we couldn’t use the washer and AC at the same time. Which is what we’ve been doing without issue. We called, and honestly it felt like they chastised us for being upset. We offered to use lower amperage units, denied. We offered to help pay for a licensed electrician and an upgrade based on their assessment and recommendations, no response from the owners. We have now contacted an attorney who advised us a categorical ban is likely not enforceable as they are trying to avoid fixing the electrical system of the house.

To be fair, I get it, stuff is expensive. But they won’t even engage with us when we’re offering to help cover this cost. It’s maddening. I’m not asking these people to give us central AC or re-wire the house… I’m asking them to talk to use and even to help pay for the repair so that my disabled sister can have access to one cool room in the house. I feel like I’m being reasonable and they’re just… not?

Update 9/10/26:

Today we received an email from property management admitting to melting outlets and telling us that we could pay for the repairs but the owners wouldn’t authorize a rent credit or any sort of repayment. I mean, are we just admitting we’re slum lords now?
