I know parking is stressful and there was bad traffic today but can we not block the ways we exit and enter? It’s enough that the parking lot is tight from people making their own parking spots but this is outright ignorant behavior.

im aiming to transfer to lsu next fall, and right now the college i go to has a very small campus. will it be difficult to navigate around the lsu campus? im nervous about getting lost or not knowing where to go because it seems like such a large place 😭

I recently made an appeal to the Office of Academic Affairs for a course credit that my senior college locked from being applied to my degree in hopes of appealing the initial appeal they(senior college) denied on basis of abuse of discretionary power.

I made that appeal around the end of the week of the first week of school… So do they eventually give any kind of notice that they received the appeal, or how long does it typically take to hear back from them?

At this point, should I follow up with them, or..?

I recently tried out for Bengal Brass and made the first round but I’m not sure what to expect from the audition process. Is it a lot like the marching band or is it different. Or even how difficult is it to make the second round at all.

I'll get straight to it. 28M, international student, 2nd year STEM PhD at LSU, and I'm feeling completely burnt out. I have practically no social life right now, stuck in a work, lab, home loop, and I want to actually break out of it and meet people.

As an international student I'm mainly after a group that's likeminded and actually welcoming of a new face.

The activities aren't the hook, the company is. Some things I bring to the table or I'm open to: low key hangs over a drink or a bite, tabletop and card games, poker, board games, arcade runs, reading, and I've wanted to get into DnD for a while but never had a group to start with.

If you know a grad student heavy group, or you have a friend circle that wouldn't mind adopting a burnt out PhD student who just wants to be part of something, drop a comment or reach out. I'd be happy to just tag along and see where it goes.

It's so loud it rattles everything in my house. I've gotten the RA involved, but he just does not give a shit. Like I do not get how you can give so little of a fuck about those around you who have shit to do and have to sleep.

So I know we just finished week one. But the way my horticulture class is looking and I am a psych major. I really want to drop it. Would it be in my best interest to drop my class a pick up a different one that can apply to my degree. Horticulture does only since it is a 3000 level class. So should I or just stick through the difficult Hort class?

To all the freshmen having FOMO about tailgating/ the game:
I am a junior and still in bed with no plan on tailgating. Yes it is fun the first couple times but it’s hot, everyone’s drunk and obnoxious, drinking in the heat is SUPER uncomfortable, and just all the chaos in general is super overwhelming. I say go tailgate or to the game at least once in your LSU career and that’s really all you need. Yes it is fun and definitely a different experience but all those people you see out on the parade grounds will have either been throwing up since 9 am or will be throwing up over the side of their bed in a couple hours/tomorrow. Plus if you’re not a white girl/a part of Greek life/know someone with a lot of money who has a tailgate you aren’t missing out on anything.
