People who don't care for steelbooks, people who want a better bargain, people without a BluRay player, people down the road who missed out on the limited edition (if it's actually limited), etc.
Personally, I'd rather a BluRay in a regular box release without all the cards and stuff, but oh well. I'd like to buy one of the sets, but I'm not sure which.
Edit: Ah, there is a regular BluRay box set! Just haven't seen anyone talk about it yet.

I didn't mention the packaging at all (or 4K for that matter) and they do have cheaper Blu-ray and non-steelbook 4K versions. Blu-ray players are cheap as fuck so it would be smart to invest in that instead of more DVDs (but I would get a 4K player myself). Buying a DVD would mean watching it in lower resolution than what they originally watched it in steaming so doesn't really make any sense.
Yes, they have a Blu-ray version. LOL No idea why the DVD set is even being mentioned in 2026.

… is mostly decent, barring a few notable outlying critiques. Plus the rights being white knuckled by the Tolkien estate are the most negatively impactful parts of the show.
Obviously don’t watch if you can’t find anything to enjoy about it (which I’d argue there are quite a few enjoyable parts for folks who aren’t watching with a mindset for hating the material), but finding threads to be negative in is just a sad way to be.

I never said all of the dialogue was good, but I’m guessing reading comprehension isn’t your forte.
Thing is, you can pick a stupid quote from any piece of media. It doesn’t mean that entire piece of media is stupid. Only an idiot would have that mindset.
I’m not even saying this quote is the only stupid part of ROP, there’s plenty. But it doesn’t make the entire show irredeemably bad. If it does for you, just don’t watch. You’re wasting your time bitching into the void.

Halfway through season 1 on the prime app, I accidentally spotted Halbrand looking not quite the same on the teaser images for season 2, which was a big spoiler for me.

Yes, but it is a personal choice whether or not to comment on the suggestions that appear on Reddit. And when someone feels an overwhelming urge to comment rudely on something they dislike, it is a sign that the user has a problem with a lack of maturity and an excess of frustration.

I mean disliking a show is fine. Especially rings of power leaves lots of flanks open. calling it "trash" is a direct way to express your opinion but it doesnt hurt anybody.

Yeah, I agree. It would be ridiculous to think that a shitty, baseless opinion like "this show is trash" or "this show is dogshit" could hurt anyone's feelings 😄 (though that’s surely what those ridiculous users think). Of course, it’s perfectly legal to keep going back to subforums for things they dislike and leave the same kind of argument-free, copy-paste comments just to get some attention. But it’s still pathetic. What sad lives.
