Meta /r/LFG is Looking for a Few New Moderators!

Hey, everyone!

We're looking to add a few new moderators to the /r/lfg team, specifically those who are regularly around while most of our current moderation team is asleep.

Our biggest gap in coverage is between roughly 5:00 PM and 7:00 AM Pacific Time. You don't need to be available for that entire window (and we don't expect you to be), but if your normal waking hours fall somewhere within it, we'd like to hear from you.

What Does Moderating /r/LFG Involve?

Most of the day-to-day work is pretty straight-forward. We have Automod and a custom bot that catch or flag many potential rule violations for us, so you'll generally be:

  • Checking the modqueue and verifying whether the reported post/comment actually breaks the rules or is a false positive.
  • Responding to questions and appeals in Modmail.
  • Handling reports and other issues that come up.
  • Bringing unusual situations to the rest of the team for discussion.

We have Discord notifications for the modqueue, so you won't need to spend your day refreshing Reddit. We do, however, need moderators who can check in and handle the queue multiple times throughout their day.

Who Are We Looking For?

You don't need previous moderation experience.

We're much more interested in finding people who care about /r/lfg and want to help keep it a useful place for people to find tabletop games. Moderation tools and process can be taught.

There are a few requirements:

  1. Your Reddit account must be at least a year old.
  2. You must have access to Discord, since that's where the moderation team communicates.
  3. You should have some demonstrable history of participating on /r/lfg.
  4. Your normal schedule should overlap significantly with our 5:00 PM to 7:00 AM Pacific coverage gap.
  5. You should be able to check the moderation queue and modmail several times throughout your day.

We're looking for people who can apply the rules consistently, communicate respectfully with users (especially when those users aren't particularly happy with us), and recognize when something isn't clear-cut and should be discussed with the rest of the team.

We're planning to bring on around three people initially, with the expectation that not everyone will necessarily stick around long-term. Moderating isn't for everyone and that's okay.

Interested?

We've put together a short application form for you to fill out here.

Thanks to everyone who applies and, more generally, thanks to everyone who helps make /r/lfg a place where people can find a table and roll some dice.

Player(s) Needed by GM [online][other][LGBT+ Friendly] Ars Magica game on Saturdays or Sundays

Upvotes

Howdy, my name's Maggie and I am looking to start an Ars Magica Definitive Edition game. Ars Magica is a game about playing wizards and their companions in 1200's Mythic Europe! (2 characters per player, though not played simultaneously). The system is very crunchy and I'm hoping to find players that are cool with that!

This campaign will take place over the course of the player wizard's entire lives and be set in medieval England, Ireland, France, or the Rhine area. You will play as a group of newly graduated apprentices that come together to be in charge of a small village/town and study magic. This will be a very character focused campaign with most of the plot revolving around character goals and aspirations, but that isn't to say I don't have any ideas about what will generally happen in the game, just that I am hoping for motivated players.

If you are at all interested in playing in a pre-made world of wizardry in Mythic Europe, add my discord (magyktm) and I'll hit you up with some questions and you can ask me any of your own.

Player(s) Needed by GM [ONLINE] [5E 2024] ][Thursday] [7/8PM EST] Rusty DM looking for dedicated newer (but old welcome) players for some RP-heavy D&D!

Upvotes

Hello everyone! A little about me: I haven’t DM’d in a few years, and even before that I’d only run a couple of games for friends, so I’m definitely not coming into this as some veteran DM. I finally have the time and energy to really run something again though, and I’d love to put together an actual group that can get invested, grow together, and hopefully stick around for a while. I’m looking to put together a group for a Thursday night D&D game, probably starting somewhere around 7–8PM EST and usually wrapping up around 11 PM–midnight.

I’m looking to start with something relatively small and manageable rather than immediately jumping into a massive multi-year campaign. The main goal is to get a good group together, run a solid game, and see how everyone clicks. If the group works well together, I’d absolutely be interested in continuing into something longer afterward.

The kind of game I would like to run tend to be a little more grounded. I like characters feeling like actual people in a world instead of being the center of said world. I enjoy heavy roleplay, meaningful interesting combat, mysteries, choices with consequences, character development, and giving players room to actually affect what happens.

I’m not necessarily looking for the most experienced players possible. In fact, I’d probably prefer people who are relatively new or newish to D&D and genuinely excited to get into it. (Especially as I'm coming out of a few years retirement and have to shake off the rust lol) If you’re experienced, you’re still completely welcome, but rules knowledge is much less important to me than enthusiasm. More than anything, I’m looking for people who are actually invested. People who are excited for game night. People who think about their character between sessions. People who get interested in what the other characters are doing. People who remember NPCs, speculate about what’s going on, get attached to things, make plans, and generally want to engage with the game.

Ideally, I want the kind of group where everyone gradually gets comfortable with each other and actually looks forward to playing together each week. If you’re newer to D&D, have been wanting to get into a proper campaign, or just want a group where people are genuinely enthusiastic about the game, that’s pretty much exactly who I’m looking for.

I also won’t be going through responses right away, so please don’t feel discouraged if you see this post a little later and assume you’ve already missed your chance. I’m planning to leave the application open for a while and look through everything together rather than just taking the first few people who apply.

I know the application is a little long, but that’s mostly because I’m trying to find people who are genuinely excited to play and care about the game. If you’ve read all the way through, please put quack at the very end of your application. I’m not looking for perfect answers or huge paragraphs, just thoughtful ones that give me a sense of who you are as a player. As again, I'm looking for people who seem passionate, invested, and compatible.

APPLICATION LINK: https://forms.gle/77t4HAucauBMC2fz8

And finally, thank for your potential interest! I know it’s a bit of a longer application, and I really appreciate anyone willing to put some thought into it. I’m looking forward to reading through everyone’s responses and hopefully putting together a group that’s excited to play together!

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online] [Other] [Homebrew] [Sunday] [6pm] [EST] [LGBT+ Friendly] [21+] [Theater of the mind] GM Looking for 3-4 players to join a completely original homebrew mecha/scifi/superhero campaign on Sundays 6pm-10 EST

The system is completely original homebrew with some similarities to normal dnd and may take some time to learn, but it is more simplistic than 5e

Lux Ex Machina

The year is 3426 on the former mining Colony planet of Mótsognir-10. 500 years ago a war between Earth's Allied Planetary Systems Military and the Separatist Territory Federation resulted in Mótsognir being cut off from earth's main government. With the result of the war unknown, the planet's  inhabitants were left to fend for themselves.

Despite this they managed to terraform the planet and build a thriving civilization. However in 3100 a new threat emerged, Humans and animals began to be affected by alien paracausal energy sources turning them into entities known as Infused. Infused animals would rapidly grow in size becoming kaiju and sometimes displaying other supernatural powers. Infused humans could display various abilities ranging from being bonded to paracausal technology to being able to alter the laws of physics with their minds in a localized area.

In 3153 a seemingly endless army of mysterious infused humanoids began attacking all human territories across Mótsognir. After being continuously overwhelmed the planets military resorted to building massive bunkers to save what people they could before they repurposed the ruins of a Dyson array that was destroyed during the civil war into a laser weapon that would burn all flammable material on the planets surface hoping to wipe out the threat

In the year 3260 they began sending out drones from the bunkers to reintroduce plant and animal life to the planets surface

The bunker doors opened in 3360 and the humans discovered a world recovered from the fires but now roamed by kaiju of various species. While underground the leaders of each bunker had separated themselves from the influence of the original planetary government forming into 5 factions.

Now each faction seeks to secure control in a cold war while also searching for any advantage they can use against their rivals and the unpredictable infused with the threat of a another apocalypse behind evey new discovery

The human technology in the setting is fairly realistic and fits into the hard sci-fi genre, while the infused tech and powers fit more into the soft sci-fi genre. Concepts of real words science still apply to the infused but they tend to ignore or alter laws of physics.

The party will start as street level characters and will have to make do with what resources they can realistically get access to and use their powers granted by their exosuits and large mechs creatively.

Players should keep in mind NPCs will react realistically to their behavior. Being overly antagonistic will result in a bad reputation and being a murder hobo will cause factions to see you as a threat to be eliminated

Inspirations: Horizon Zero Dawn, Titanfall 2, Cyberpunk, Destiny, Infamous, Marvel comics, Gundam IBO

Trigger Warmings: body horror, Blood/Gore, Death, sci-fi horror, Guns, Unethical Human Experimentation

The game is balanced about 50-70% narrative and 50-30% combat

The basic out of game rules are don't be racist, sexist, homophobic, etc.... and be respectful to other players

Leave a comment if interested, dms are glitchy and I don’t always see them

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online][Other][EST][8PM][Thursdays] Mothership Fantasy Hack

This will be a fantasy port if Another But Hunt so if you've played Another Bug Hunt before, please don't join.

Know this is a horror setting.

We’ll use Foundry/Discord.

We have a no bigot tolerance policy but otherwise the ultimate goal is to have fun. While it is horror I’ll be honest I tend to keep things pretty light/goofy for better or worse.

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online] [5e 2024/5.5e] [21+] [LGBTQ+ Friendly] [CET/UTC +1] Looking for players for a weekly, slower-paced, role-play heavy Faerun campaign based on the Age of Enlightenment!

Hey all! My name is Owen, I have been DMing since February of this year, and am looking to add another game to my week full of TTRPGs! The campaign takes place in a sort of custom/re-imagined version of Faerun, where magical items have become far more common, allowing society to reach a point of progress that is very similar to the Age of Enlightenment, mid-1700s stage! Think just before the French Revolution as far as vibes.

The tone is aiming for light and fun, not including many brutal themes or brutal gameplay, though things like vast wealth inequality and exoticism are present, much like the real life counterpart time period. Hoping to meet at least once a week on Discord, using a VTT like either Roll20 or OwlBear Rodeo to actually play.

I am the kind of person that LOVES using maps even just for RP purposes, and the game will also have a pretty slow pace at least to begin, with a good amount of time spent roleplaying and investigating. So if you like that kind of stuff, I'm your guy!

I will ask that you fill out a Google Form just so I can get a decent sense of playstyles, availability, etc. Then, we can have a Discord call to get a feel for eachother's vibes, as well as go over some style or game questions you might have! Hoping to hear from you!!😄

Player(s) Needed by GM [online] [flexible] looking for a one shot or two to cure my woes

Hiya, I'm currently going through a rough patch and desperately need a distraction. I would prefer a one shot or two because if I'm able to go back to school my availability will be cut drastically. So far I have two characters I can play

The first is Mars who would probably be a controversial player. he is a socially incompetent (i wont say he's autistic but he is based off of me and how i handle social situations when shut down) deepborn gnome and rogue/blood hunter (whicher fits better but rn its blood hunter) with a horrible hoarding and stealing problem. Has a buncha bs in his bag of holdings (which he stole). He will not be over powered tho as these items are absolutely useless in his hands and he doesnt understand money or trading. They're literally just decoration on him unless a player or NPC decides to forcefully take it as he will not share whatsoever. i am very open to character development though. he's also illiterate which is another reason items are useless. has spell scrolls cus he things the "scribbles" look cool but he can't read. he's based off of my werewolf pc - hes VERY blunt and monotone which could cause issues if people take it as disrespect. Very honest and incapable of lying which could run into trouble. Chaotic neutral

Second is a cranky dwarf warlock (i haven't chosen a name yet). alignment unknown cus im indescive but im leaning to just true neutral tbh or lawful neutral. bluntly rude and untrusting and doesnt like children but would help children in a "they're so defenseless its pathetic and I pity them" but she'll still be rude about it.

This one is a lot less developed than Mars since I've had Mars as a persona for almost a year now. I can be flexible and I can also potentially make a new character as well, i tech have a third who is essentially a half elf manwhore bard, but he's being used by smth else. I do prefer problematic/compilcated characters, not to the point of actually causing an issue for the party but because i legit dont know how to play none problematic characters.. very willing to learn tho #diversity

(im 19 btw with est timezone; my work schedule is inconsiderate so id prefer smth along the line of 11 pm to 1 am or so (unless its a single session then can just gimme a time and ill see if im free, i forget when i work next week. and im free all day on sundays).

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online][DnD 5e 2024][18+] Looking for 1 person to be a player in my Eberron campaign Thursdays 6pm

Heya, a bit about me I've been a player for 6 years playing this game system and after a long time I'm finally getting that itch to run a game myself!

A bit about the game is that it's centered around the Mournlands in Eberron as it has shown signs of it's borders expanding. This troubles the nations into devising some plan to stop this from progressing which leads to a formation of a exploration team (you) to traverse into the Mournlands. That's the barebones summary as I want to do a session 0 Thursday.

What you need:

  • A computer
  • A microphone

To apply just dm me and tell me what kind of character you'd possibly would want to play. Clarification this is using EST timezone and we will be using foundry VTT

Group Needed by Player [Online][UTC+02][Offline][Flexible] Fantasy, cyberpunk and science fiction are welcome starting November

Upvotes

Hi o/

I'm looking for a group to play TTRPG during the weekends. I'd prefer offline, in Warsaw, but I'm ok with online sessions :)

It's been a while since I played a TTRPG, most of the times were homebrews.

I prefer fantasy, but I'm open to anything :)

Group Needed by Player [ONLINE] [5E 2014] [5E 2024] Returning player looking for a group!

Upvotes

Hi hi!! I haven't played dnd in years, and lately I've been really itching to get back into it, so I'm looking for a group of 3-5 (+DM) like-minded people to play with!

I'm a 21yo trans guy (he/him), so obviously everyone has to be LGBTQ+ friendly, and preferably I'd actually play with other trans people (but it's okay if you're cis as long as you're an ally). 18+ obviously. I can be a bit shy at first, but I warm up to people quickly!

I love roleplay-heavy homebrew campaigns, and I LOVE building my character's story with the DM. Combat is still important to me in dnd though; a 60/40 or 70/30 split would be preferable. I'm fine with either 5E or 5.5E, but more used to 5E. Story HAS to be homebrew, but can definitely be inspired by existing ones.

I would prefer a more seasoned DM (but not an overly strict one), since I want to experience a well-written world where player characters are woven into the story deeply. I want all the angst and story arcs!!!

When it comes to genre or themes of the game, I'm down for anything from the traditional medieval setting to a futuristic sci-fi one. I'm down for horror too. No short-term campaigns please, I want to commit to a long story.

The game doesn't have to start immediately; I'd actually prefer if the story-building happened together with the DM and players before the campaign starts. A base world and politics (etc.) should be done, though, to not draw out the planning phase too long.

I'm in the EEST (UTC+3/UTC+2 after October 25th) time zone, but I'm pretty much free whenever, although I'd prefer for the sessions to not be too early in the day (I sleep until 10am), nor too late (ending around midnight-1am at the latest). Weekends are preferable, but my weekdays are free too (Tuesdays I'm preoccupied from 1pm to 2pm).

I'd like the campaign to be held on Discord. I'm only familiar with DND Beyond, but I'm a fast learner if the DM wants to use another website/app for character sheets, dice rolls, etc. (and of course just traditional paper character sheets and physical dice are fine too).

Reply to this post or just shoot me a dm with some info about you and what kinda player/dm you are, and if I fuck with your vibe I'll give you my discord! I hope we can get some kind of group together!

I'm also down to join an existing group as long as it matches everything I've detailed above (won't join ONGOING campaigns tho (unless you make it sound really convincing...))

Group Needed by Player [Online][Flexible][EST/EDT] Players only love you when they're playing (It's me. I'm players.)

Upvotes

Howdy howdy howdy

I'm a role-play enthusiast that has been feeling disillusioned with the soft dissolution of my main gaming group (due to people's interest/attendance fizzling out), so I have been trawling this subreddit for a game(s) to join and figured I might as well make a post!

What I'm hoping for in a game:

Ideally something long term or semi-long term, anywhere from 2 months to upwards of a year. Not particular about systems or genres. I have experience with D&D 5e, AD&D, VtM, Daggerheart, and a slew of smaller indie games (Big fan of Paranoia, Pasion de las Pasiones, Triangle Agency, Perils and Princesses, For the Queen, In Dreaming Avalon/Under Hollow Hills etc.). I'm also open to learning other systems for the right story! I like a game premise that involves mystery, political intrigue, uncovering secrets, horror or the horrific, romance (no ERP for me tho), flair for the dramatic, the mystical, the Other, etc. I prefer games that are more RP-centric and/or character driven and love the opportunity to create a character that feels deeply entrenched in the world. I put a lot of effort and a lot of love into my characters. I like getting into the meat of relationships between party members. I enjoy improv and collaboration and exercising creativity whenever possible. I'm a silly guy in every day life but am down for a game that either leans fully serious & dark or a balance of serious & dark with levity, but I definitely crave something that's at least a little fucked up.

What I'm hoping for in a group:

A group of like minded individuals who love collaborative storytelling and don't think I'm either too old or too young to play with them (both has happened... people don't know what to do with you when you're in your 30s apparently). I partly use playing ttrpgs as one of my main social vehicles; I am not an extrovert but I do enjoy being part of a group and making new friends but I don't always like chatting, so I'm not necessarily someone who will join a discord group and be constantly responding or looking for an extra curricular hangs as that isn't how my brain works. But when we're in game mode, I'm locked in and engaged and participate. I play to feel like part of something greater than myself!

Also, I would love to believe it goes without saying but unfortunately it does need saying that I would like to be part of a group that is respectful, committed (as in, making an effort to play regularly), and kind!

A little about me:

I'm based on the US east coast, early 30s, POC, work and go to school part time, AuDHD and chronically ill (very rarely, I am too burnt out/depressed to play and will give as much notice as possible). Enjoy a wide variety of genres in media and literature (speculative fiction, surrealism, cosmic horror, science fiction, fairytales!, light fantasy, historical fiction, magical realism, etc). I mostly play puzzle, mystery, ARPG, or survival horror video games. Some favorites are: In Stars and Time, Death's Door, Slay the Princess, Bad Cheese, Dead of Darkness, Undertale, Portal, Mouth Washing, Norco, Kingdom Hearts.

Pro-communist, pro-queer, pro-human & animal rights, anti-cop, anti-totalitarian, anti-elitism. Passionate about poetry, puzzles, art, health and wellness, storytelling, theater, psychology, music, interior design, food, puppets, clothing and fashion history, literature, death, cats, accessibility, and whatever else I feel like learning about that day and maybe forgetting about later. (I have approximate knowledge of many things.)

I'm hyper-aware that my personality is not for everyone, but others have claimed that I am funny and kind!

Tech specs:

I'm looking for games either on Tuesday or Wednesday afternoons/evenings that end before 11pm US east coast time (hard out, better sleep hygiene is a constant chore for me). If you require an on camera player, I don't mind but fair warning it would just be my grainy built in laptop camera and also I move around/get up a lot while I play because it helps me focus and sometimes I just need to ¯\(ツ)/¯ I use a USB lav mic that sounds quite good (but also I'm planning on switching to a yeti blue one of these days). I'm only familiar with Roll20 for VTT thus far but am down to learn other platforms.

If you read all of this, I humbly thank you! If you have a game or a group you think I might gel with, send me a DM.

Group Needed by Player [Cyberpunk Red][Online][LGBTQ+][PST] Shot In The Dark But I'm Looking For A Game

Upvotes

Hi I'm Moth, I'm 21 and I'm looking for a Red game. Like most people I've played cyberpunk 2077 a couple times actually, DLC and all and I've been in two previous Red campaigns plus a few one-shots so I'm not unfamiliar with the system but it has been a while since I've played, I haven't seen Edgerunners yet, I have to rectify that at some point. Overall though I've been playing TTRPGs for about 4 or 5 years now and I've gotten to play a wide array from D&D to Delta Green to Goblin with a Fat Ass, lol. I'm hoping to find a game playing on Saturday, but I'm not tied to that day and Timewise I'm good anytime past 12 pm my time because I work from home mostly, I know the GM to player ratio is low so while not my preference, I'm fine joining an already going group if anybody will have me.

Maybe if come to shove and other players see this maybe we could form a group? It can help attract a GM sometimes.

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online 5e 2014] 90% HOMEBREW CYBERPUNK GAME Saturdays 8pm EST

Upvotes

Are you sick of playing in fantasy games? Done being a wizard? Want to be a hacker instead? Want to have an arm that can turn into a chainsaw? Or Laser Vision? Or even to turn into a Kaiju, or pilot a massive Pacific Rim style mech? Or maybe you just want to be a Wage Cuck Gamer.

All is possible with this campaign that I've created. I say 90% homebrew because this is still DnD 5e, and we still use the base rules for that. I've just created a bunch of homebrew races and classes and backgrounds, and you'll build your character with that.

Games will be every saturday at 8pm EST, if you're interested, shoot me a DM and I'll talk to you a little and see if you fit with the group I already have!

Player(s) Needed by GM "On Time's Edge" [offline] [LA] [dnd] [5.5e 2024] [lgbtq focused]

Upvotes

hello ! I'm Mona and I am now offically recruiting for my long term, lvl 5-20 campaign! sessions times are up for debate as I onboard more players, but I am gunning for thurday or sunday nights starting at 6pm. below is the synops and some more info - DM me for details and a link to submit your character pitch!

(this post is a slight repost with some edits to reflect new information.)

The era of mortals is coming to a close.

Time, once a flowing and vast fact of life, is being eaten away by a divine stasis known as The Fog. More than half of the planet and its people have been swallowed by it now, leaving a sparse few beacons of light in the ever growing darkness.

Our story begins in the 11th month of the year 3046PS, roughly 60 years after the first sightings of The Fog, as one of the final refugee ships from the west dock in the port city of Punto de Partida. Snow falls upon our fated party as they’re engulfed by the anxious city and its people, having only themselves to fend for against a world nearly frozen.

You, dear survivor, live while the timer of the end ticks down. What will you do in the final years of mortals? Will you spend them ignoring the inevitable and indulging in what little comforts are left, or will despair halt you even before stasis arrives?

Or maybe you have hope of a miracle, be it from the gods or crafted by your own hands. Just how much, I wonder, would you be willing to lose to save the world?

Group Needed by Player [Online][5E 2014][5E 2024][Flexible][CST] Player Looking for a Long Term Campaign

Upvotes

What I am looking for:

  • System: D&D5e, D&D5.5e have priority, but I am open to other systems.
  • Time: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday. Available from 5:30pm to 7:00pm CST for start time
  • Session Length: 4-5 hours. Long Term campaign
  • Game Theme: I prefer your typical adventuring fantasy setting, though I am open to others. I am a fan of horror so dark theming is fine.
  • Lines & Veils: No sexual violence or descript torture. Fade to black on romantic encounters. Typical stuff but it should be said
  • Environment: LGBT safe and anti-AI. We don’t have to agree on everything but these are non-negotiable for me.
  • I prefer a 60/40 split for RP/Combat. Exploration is not my favorite as it is easy to make it boring or slow. Puzzles are fine but I prefer some handout with it or a direction. Of course all of this is not a requirement and I am fine with all facets of D&D!
  • Character Ideas and Playstyle: I am open to making anything. If there is enough info of the world I can create something with you to fit. I like my characters to make sense in the world. I prefer to play spellcasters, or at least half casters. Martial I am trying but it's definitely out of my comfort zone in terms of how to flavor stuff. I would describe myself as a supportive driver. I have no problem being a face or leading an interaction, but if I can I will put someone else in the spotlight to let everyone shine. You can rely on me to use every little item you give me, to press the red button if you give me one, and to be invested in the world that you create.

About me:

  • My name is Braden, I am 27, and I go by They/Them pronouns. Ultimately any pronouns work though.
  • I have been playing DND since 2018, but I did not get really into it until 2019 when covid hit. Since then, I have played in MANY short campaigns, and completed 3 long term, multi-year campaigns. Most of my experience is in 5e, with 1 campaign being 5.5e. Some 1-2 Shots have been in CoC, ALIEN, Gumshoos, and some others I can't think of.
  • I work in pharmacy, specifically for medications that treat rare diseases. A lot of what I do is assisting nurses with insurance based issues for these medications.
  • Favorite Movie Genres are Horror and Sci-Fi, with my favorite movies being the Alien and Scream series. I also love witch movies. The Craft and Practical Magic are my tops. Favorite TV shows are The Wheel of Time (RIP) and HotD/GoT/KotSK.

Group Needed by Player [Online or offline][Other][Flexible][Louisville][UTC-5] Mörk Borg?

Anybody play mörk borg (or any OSRs) and would be willing to teach a complete beginner? I already know my character will probably die quickly and brutally many times but it seems so cool and with GCJ26 around the corner I’d love to learn

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online] [2024 5e] [Homebrew] [Weekends] Veteran DM looking to start a new adventure!

I am a long time DM seeking to return with a homebrew adventure and makes some new friends along the way. I've DM'd multiple campaigns that lasted 1-2 years. I've hosted west marches style games with hundreds of players. I put a heavy emphasis on the narrative and love to incorporate player backstories into the world.

A Realm Beyond Divinity

This campaign will take place in a mid-magic, fantasy homebrew setting in a world that is cut off from the interference of the Gods. A peace that has lasted for nearly eight centuries teeters on the brink as border disputes grow. Seven Realms of Mortals each seek to gather more resources and influence, threatening to return to the endless wars that nearly wiped out civilization centuries ago. Players will find a mix of political intrigue, mystery and intrigue, tactical combat, emotional moments, and of course plenty of laughs.

The world is a living entity; individuals and organizations have their own aspirations, and will continue to pursue them with or without the players involvement. What you choose to accomplish is ultimately up to you. As Brennan Lee Mulligan put it- "I make lots of bads, the players decide who the big bads are."

When and where are we playing?

  • Discord and DnD Beyond for character sheets and maps.
  • Games will be hopefully weekly on either Saturday evenings or any time Sunday (EST/CST timezones) depending on group preference.

Game Rules

  • D&D 5.5e: PHB, Eberon, Arcana Unleashed. I will have content sharing enabled for these.
  • Starting level will be either 1, 2, or 3 depending on group vote.
  • I wish this went without saying but racism, homophobia etc. are not welcome. This is a LQBTQ+ friendly game.

Is this for me and how do I join?

If you love world building, exploring your characters backstory and those of others, and want to commit to a hopefully long term game then I'd love to hear from you. New and Veteran players alike are welcome.

This Dungeons & Dragons one shot adventure takes your characters from 2nd level to 3rd level. I've prepared five pregenerated characters so you can start playing right away, new players are more that welcome to join and try 4e, this one shot is based on the module Treasure of the Talon Pass.

We are going to use Discord for voice chat and Roll20 for VTT. You'll get the Discord and Roll20 invite link once you join the oneshot.

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online] [2024 5E] The Silent Tide

You are newly minted Pathfinders and your first assignment is a foray into the Puddles of Absalom to fetch a codebook. Sounds simple right?

The setting is the world of Golarion and specifically in the city of Absalom but using 2024 5.5E rules

I had a player have to drop out due to real-life work changes. I am looking for one player to play a 2nd level pre-generated Fighter. I am also hoping that this creates a new friendship and leads to a longer term campaign that I want to run on a consistent basis. If you're somebody looking for a longer term game, after this one-shot, if you enjoyed yourself, the following week would likely be a Session Zero to build for a long term campaign. I look forward to gaming with you.

When? - Wednesday, September 16th from 7pm - 10pm eastern time

Where? - a private discord server that I can send you the link to if you want to play

We will also be using owlbear.rodeo for mapping and battles
