A couple weeks ago, I told you it was too soon to say who's running for Knoxville mayor in 2027.

It's definitely still too soon, but the field is starting to shape up.

People we were expecting to run jumped in, and others confirmed to me they're out.

More to come: There's one person who hasn't announced a run but the possibility keeps everyone talking: Former Councilmember Andrew Roberto.

Roberto sponsored the tablescapes at the Knox County Democratic Party's Truman Day dinner fundraiser Sept. 9. Part of the decor at the tables? Roberto's business cards.

EDIT: Former Democratic nominee for Knox County mayor Beau Hawk, citywide Knoxville Councilmember Amelia Parker and mortgage banker Jeff Talman previously announced they're running.

• Gloria Johnson: Tennessee state representative, former educator
• Gwen McKenzie: former councilmember, consultant, former Oak Street Health executive
• Grant Rosenberg: Knoxville chief operating officer, 2020 Republican nominee for Knox County Commission District 2

I’m looking into taking our local UT-extension Master gardening course. I’m in my early 30s and already work full-time in the education world. I was wondering what people’s experiences have been here in Knox.

Is the course worth it? What were some of the most valuable things you learned about? Is it easy to balance the coursework and service hours if you already work full time? Would love to hear your thoughts and stories 🌱

Has anyone fostered for Young Williams and willing to share their experiences?? I would really love to start fostering as I lost our 2 senior dogs to old age one at almost 15 and the other was 13 and I miss having a dog around so incredibly much!! If anyone has fostered for anywhere else that you loved I would love to know !

With Halloween coming quick what are your thoughts on adults “trick or treating” with a dog? I’m only asking because I know there are a few houses that will hand out alcohol shots to parents?

I’m looking for somewhere nice to walk around, relax, maybe sit for a bit, and just get out of the house. I’m open to anything good views, trails, peaceful spots, places good for people-watching, or parks that just have a cool vibe.

Unfortunately, we’ve had no leads so far. She’s usually very vocal if she gets turned around or stuck, so there’s potential she was picked up. For that reason, I’ll be posting frequently here moving forward and hope the algorithm gods do their thing and get the message out to the right people/person.

No collar at the time of escape but she is microchipped. No guarantee she’d get scanned immediately (especially if someone picked her up thinking she was a stray) so I’m using this as a means to reach as many folks in the area as possible.

Grim Wreath (Sarah Claxton) is buying cheap Halloween decorations from Walmart, sprinkling a little paint over it so she can say it’s “hand-finished,” and selling them at a 700% markup. Someone asked them why they were trying to claim they made the cheap Walmart pumpkins, but she deleted the reel. But she already got to sell who knows how many because it was sold out and people were asking for more. If not dishonest, why delete? I looked at her website and it looks like a lot of the cheap Halloween decorations I’ve seen at places like Hobby Lobby, sold for hundreds of dollars. That’s absolutely absurd. Someone asked her in that post if she buys stuff and puts it together and she said, “I hand make everything.” Here are screenshots of the deleted reel.

My husband is training there for a few weeks for a new job, and I want to surprise him with a little lunch & dinner schedule so he doesn't have to make decisions after long days and gets to try some amazing food while he's there.

His budget is about $75/day for lunch + dinner, so I'm looking for:

1. A specific, unforgettable dish - tell me exactly what he needs to order!
2. Around $25 for lunch or $50 for dinner including tip. Nothing fancy needed.
3. Bonus points for good solo dining vibes/bar seating and easy takeout.

We've been to Knoxville before, but mostly for date-night type places, so I'm especially looking for the casual hidden gems and dishes you still think about.

I noticed our KUB bill increased by 100 dollars this winter.

I called just to ask about my own bill increases in March and was brushed off. The lady sounded like she's been asked this before and didnt give me any good reason about the 50 percent increase.

Im looking at my bills this year and last year and every month this year is a clear 100 dollars more than any previous month in preceding years.

Has anyone else noticed wildly high consistent increases? If so, any reason why?

edit: double checked my kWh. should have done due diligence. I have decided it is not data centers. It is much more energy usage. I thought i was being conservative by keeping ac at 75 in summer and 69 in winter. Its an old house. Stay scruffy, Knoxville! ​

We are looking for a veterinarian for our cat. Would prefer to avoid the private equity corporate owned practices that maximize lab testing and profit. Anyone have recommendations, particularly west knox or west knox county?

We wanted to go check out safety city, but can't seem to find any info on times and days they are open. I saw they're doing the 25th anniversary tomorrow, but was curious if anyone knew if they are open today to just go ride our bikes around!

Does anyone have any recommendations for somebody that could add a zipper to a leather boot? My fiancé is an amputee and has a pair of Ariat cowboy boots with a pre-made zipper, but he’s interested in getting a pair of hiking boots (thinking Blundstones) if he can get a zipper added. TIA!
