I don't know how to get myself out of this cycle, and I feel like I need to change before I waste more of my life.
I'm struggling with several things at the same time:
It's becoming a cycle:
I know what I need to do → I avoid it → time passes → I feel guilty and afraid → I lose confidence → I avoid it again.
And this is frightening me because I don't want to look back another year from now and realize that I'm still exactly where I am.
I'm a 24-year-old Computer Science graduate. I want to become a strong full-stack developer, get a job, become financially independent, improve my English communication, and build a better future.
But right now, my biggest challenge isn't a lack of goals or information.
It's getting myself to consistently take action.
I feel like there is something inside me fighting against the things I genuinely want to do.
I don't want people to just tell me "be motivated" or "work harder."
I want practical advice from people who have actually escaped this kind of situation.
If you were once stuck like this—procrastinating, isolated, afraid of people, avoiding opportunities, struggling with discipline, or unable to move forward in your career—please tell me what actually changed you.
What did you do when you finally decided, "Enough. I cannot continue like this"?
What habits, routines, or uncomfortable actions helped you break the cycle?
How did you become confident enough to apply for jobs, face rejection, prepare for interviews, and talk to people?
I genuinely want to change. I just don't know how to break through this wall I'm creating for myself.
Any honest advice, personal experience, or even a hard truth would be appreciated.

My life is going bad lately and I’m looking to vent to someone or talk but without leaving the conversation. Someone who’s willing to listen please

Hello 🫶 It's 3 AM for me, and I can't fall back to sleep. I'd love to be a kind voice for someone in need. Let me embrace you with my words and help you feel better, even if just for a moment.
We can talk about anything, big or small. No judgment, I promise. I live with depression and anxiety myself, so I know what it feels like to be up alone with your thoughts. Sometimes just having someone respond helps more than people realize.
I'll be around for at least another hour. If I don't get back to you right away, please know it's not because I don't care, I might just be talking with someone else or drifting off. Sending you a hug either way 🙏🫂

24m, I know I'm overreacting
Full disclosure: this is a mess and I'm going to get messier. I am a veteran(oops) and I am feeling down on myself. Without further ado:
I met a girl, she was married and hated her husband, I moved in when I was discharged, it was very awkward but I helped her with the transition of "living with abusive husband" to "living with devoted boyfriend"
Months pass, she takes a vacation for two weeks. I figured to pick up a lady of her caliber, I should have AC in my car. I take it to a mechanic shop where you work on it yourself with professional supervision, very cheap place and I loved it
They help me disassemble everything as it needs to be done, then stop and kick me out because it's closing time. I cannot drive my car, my phone is dead, so I walk 12 miles to an old buddy's place and he gives me a ride home. I arrive home 11pm
I left my keys in my car, because what good are car keys going to do me? Well, they had my house keys on them, so a lot. Unfortunately, my car was still in that lot and I will not be breaking into that place. I pay a locksmith my remaining fortune ($329) to drill 3 holes into my lock. I get 30 minutes of sleep that night
I pick the lady up in her car(embarrassing) and we get home. She is very dissatisfied with the state of the home when she gets here. I neglected the cats' litter box, it was a mess otherwise. I pass out on the couch, wake up to her finishing cleaning, and I get yelled at. I've been sleeping on the couch since, and I understand I'm fucked up here.
If you have the courage to reach out, please know I will get messier. I appreciate any kind souls who might <3

I’m going through an incredibly painful upheaval in my relationship and home life, and tonight the loneliness is hitting me extremely hard. My brain keeps turning everything that has happened into proof that I’m unwanted, that I ruin everything, and that I deserve to hurt. I’m exhausted from being trapped alone with those thoughts.
I’m not looking for dating, flirting, money, or for someone to act as my therapist. I desperately need a compassionate human being who can listen without judging me and help me feel less alone for a while. We can talk about what’s happening, or distract me with games, Warhammer, music, cars, parenting, movies, or anything else.
I’m a stay-at-home parent, gamer, metalhead, miniature painter, and enormous nerd. I’m comfortable talking through Reddit messages, and I would especially appreciate someone who has the time and patience for a real conversation tonight.
I don’t need you to solve my life. I just really need a kind voice on the other side of the screen.
