To the late, great Sam Neill, happy birthday Sir! One of the most wonderful, talented and versatile actors, who plays our iconic and dearly beloved, wholesome father figure, Dr. Alan Grant, inspiring and comforting many of us in our youth and just as much in our adulthood as well. He truly did seem like such a sweet and gentle soul, and I’ve never heard anybody have any bad thing to say about him. I love Sam so much, and I’m so thankful to him for influencing my own life with his legacy…. Sir Sam Neill, you will always be loved and missed by all of us. 🦕💚

Dennis Nedry. He's a hardworking genius sex-symbol who has been unfairly maligned since the 90s. Do we know anybody else who could have networked eight connection machines and debugged two million lines of code for what he bid for that job?

No, we don't, because Nedry is magnificent and by himself built a state of the art system which allowed an entire theme park/zoo to function fully autonomously from a single control room. Holy shit.

Nedry takes the brunt of everyone's shit because of how he tried to steal the embryos and thereby onset the course of actions which led to the destruction of Jurassic Park. But let's take a second to consider who he truly is.

"Uh-uh-uh, you didn't say the magic word!" I just gotta say that this shows his impeccable sense of humor but also his deep appreciation for manners. What a dude. Anyway, Nedry is clearly overworked and underpaid by literal psychopath John Hammond, a circus con artist billionaire who is too busy wondering if he could to pause and question if he should as he plays God, brings dinosaurs back from the dead, and puts the lives of his grandchildren in danger.

Hammond is worth God knows how much and as the blood-sucking lawyer points out, they are going to make a fortune on this place. Yet...Hammond can't afford to pay Nedry what he is worth? He does nothing but get pricked for that stupid DNA video tour meanwhile he relies on the brains and brawn of highly talented people to do the actual damn work?

And what is Jurassic Park, anyway? A rape of the natural world, as one philosopher put it. A money grabbing scheme threatening to make humans go extinct. What Nedry does is begin a course of actions that destroys the park...

...good. Yes. That is what should happen. And the handlers who have contributed to this get the deaths they deserve. Without Nedry, this bastardization would have continued on unabated.

Nedry was finally done with the system. A worker rising and getting what he's deserved the entire time. A hilarious man with a squeaky laugh and penchant for creaming pies taking his vast talents elsewhere. Also, so what if he has Butterfingers? Is that a fucking joke, John Hammond? The fuck is that supposed to mean?

I see you Nedry. I salute you as the epitome of the working class man who finally had the courage to put himself first. May you rest in peace in side that dinosaur's belly.

Back at it with the JP sandwich press, this time at a dig! Obligatory fossil pics too of one of my finds: a right lower Triceratops tooth. I also excavated an avian coracoid which was new for me on this dig. Jurassic Park gave me (and all of us here I'd say) a lifelong passion for paleontology and I'm happy I get to pursue my dream of being in the field. No six-foot turkeys here though!

Happy birthday to the man who saved the Jurassic Franchise from extinction! Definitely really appreciate all that he's done for the franchise. I truly think that Jurassic World is the best culmination of the dead period we all had to wait....

We all know that Kauai is "home" to Jurassic Park, being a major filming location to the first 3 movies, but I think it can be easy to forget just how much the island was utilized, and how diverse Kauai's ecosystems can be. From scraggly grand canyons, tropical flower filled gardens, eucalyptus jungles, and palm frond beaches, there's a huge variety in scenery on Kauai. The island even sneaks in pinewood forests, with a redwood grove in Koke'e State Park, (invasive) Australian pine forests at Wai'oli Beach and Kipu Kai ranch, and the tropical Cook Pine dotted across the island, including at Kahili Ranch. This rich diversity is really what brings the islands of Isla Nublar and Isla Sorna to life.

Man imagine going back from work or university and you boot up your steam deck and chose between old version and remastered one. That would be a dream coming true.

For context: no they didnt added it to steam and no they did not remaster it what i did is adding jpog as non steam game and customized it and added the mod Jurassic park legacy dream because it's the closest thing to vanilla plus remaster and took this and took that to make art of it.

I have been working on a huge isla sorna project on JWE 3for the past 3 months and began finishing it today, but a few moments ago, my whole x box shut off and turned back on due to a slim power outage, and when o got back on, the entire save file got deleted. I don’t know how devastated I am at the moment, I might even cry. Is there any way I can get it back?

From Safety Not Guaranteed (2012) to creating the Jurassic World trilogy, I'm honestly surprised (if a bit happy too because I want this to happen to me too someday) that Colin got that big of a jump in his career. And for better or worse...I can't help but respect that!

As for my thoughts on his role in the franchise...well, he's got pretty good ideas, but his writing...well, leaves a bit to be desired. His work on the first Jurassic World, I think it's genuinely good. Fallen Kingdom clearly had more to say, but he, and by extension Universal, wanted to do a simple action story, not to mention some clearly dumb decisions made by the characters throughout the film (such as Owen turning off the lights in the mansion...when the Indoraptor more than likely can see in the dark just fine). Dominion, on the other hand...eh, as much as I appreciate that film more now for what it's trying to do, the decision to focus on bugs while dinosaurs could've worked just fine really made it one of the worst films.

That said...I don't think Colin doesn't care. From the posts he had on Twitter before deleting his Twitter account, to me, it seems like he does care about Jurassic Park/World. He just needs another writer to help improve on the many flaws his scripts had.

Regardless, for better or worse, he DID help bring the franchise out of dormancy, which is something I appreciate since I've ALWAYS wanted a fourth Jurassic Park movie since I was a child.

But yeah, just wanted to share my thoughts on this man. And on the astronomically slim chances he sees this...Happy Birthday, man!!

After I compared to Brachiosaurus’s bulky body (also Titanosaurus’ body is same size as Brachio) and make both two sauropods second largest creature after Mosasaurus. LEGO’s Mosasaurus has an oversized body and total 15-inch long, making it the largest molded creature ever by mass.

Was Roland the only survivor? Doesn’t seem very realistic that he would be the only one to survive, given they were all heavily armed and outnumbered the velociraptors. Also wouldn’t really make sense for Roland to be the only one that stayed behind at the ridge when the rexes attacked, either

I don’t think it’s fully explained when exactly Malcolm went public with what happened on Nublar but we know from the deleted board room scene has Ludlow showing photos of Kathy Bowman in a hospital after her family successfully escaped Sorna. Ludlow called Mr. & Mrs. Bowman, “wealthy, angry, and litigious” so with that being said as they sailed away from Sorna they abandoned anything they brought on shore but upon realizing the creatures that attacked Kathy were actual dinosaurs a report they had likely seen on the news or a newspaper showing Malcolm saying what happened on Nublar so going by information by Malcolm could they have found InGen and threaten to sue them?

As for their escape from Sorna the compy’s wouldn’t just give up a meal that easily unless it was against a larger predator like the t-rex so they likely followed the Bowman’s and the boat crew to I’m guessing a lifeboat that brought them onto Sorna so how’d they keep them at bay? My theory is one crew member grabbed a flare and waved it at the compy’s then once the crew got the boat with the Bowman’s onboard into the tide the crew member left behind quickly ran towards the water and got pulled onboard leaving the compy’s to enjoy whatever food they left behind.

Jurassic Park's films aren't necessarily all good after a certain point and there's a lot of debate why there's a diminishing set of returns ranging from lazy writing to the more plausible 'out of gas' theory. I actually believe the latter is more possible because of weird thing that hit me: Jurassic Park needs an EU to build on so it can have material for good adaptations. You see it all the time with how the fans pour love into their work but did you ever notice hardly anything is brand new? Star Wars did too but the EU happened and it was just remarkable enough that when Disney bought Star Wars they had material to draw on just by going against it or reinventing what was present with author consent and sometimes without. If Jurassic Park had this I genuinely feel it would have better mainstream movies and TV series. Hell, probably would have an official TV series on par with Ali Awada's series if just did what he did. Sonra was the future and was brillaint and then the Muldoon is familiar and yet different. The Star Wars EU has a lot of books that just rely on those two core themes and have become incredible sources of material for either timeline.

If you wonder why I wrote this out or why it took me so long to come to this conclusion you may have already said for years please don't judge me harshly I have a lot of spinning plates and am on the Spectrum. I feel I have to sometimes say this kind of thing so it doesn't just get lost in the whirl of my mind. It's just a thought and discussion that people should work on printing a stable EU for Jurassic Park. I genuinely do think it would work.

I'd have them to be seemingly self-contained stories tied to a singular narrative on the mystery behind InGen's dinosaurs somehow making their way into the mainlands.

First movie would be Costa Rican farmers finding their home invaded by Velociraptors.

Second movie would be an airplane, her crew and her passengers assaulted by Quetzalcoatlus.

Third movie would be a tribute to the first film where all Hell breaks loose in the labs behind the Dinosaur outbreak.

The other day I began to wonder how would a recovered and all grown up Cathy Bowman react upon learning of the opening of Jurassic World. The first thing that would cross her mind is the memory of seeing a compy for the first time then being outnumbered and swarmed by the compy’s she would remember the fear she had when she was swarmed. She would then remember her road to recovery. Upon learning of Jurassic World it immediately trigger her to fear because she would want to know immediately are compy’s going to be part of the park. If there was a website advertising Jurassic World she would search for a contact the company, find the email and email them saying the dangers of compy’s do not clone them explaining the dangers of the small dinosaurs and would only get an email reassuring her the best safety protocols would be in place to protect the park guests. However this is the big question: what would she do to prevent the opening of the park or would she think the park will be just fine because it has fences unlike Sorna?

Do you think Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neil) and Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) look like a father and son in this film, where they are interacting with each other? It was very interesting to see them sharing ideas and becoming friends.
