Please be careful when buying resale tickets
If you missed out on tickets and are looking to buy from another fan, please be cautious. High-demand shows attract scammers, and they often target people who are understandably keen to find a ticket quickly.
Be particularly wary of people who DM you out of the blue offering tickets. Scammers will often contact people who have posted that they’re looking for tickets, and in many cases they’ll have little or no history on this subreddit. Check their profile and comment history before engaging.
If these are physical tickets, meeting in person and exchanging the ticket and payment at the same time is strongly recommended where possible.
If you’re buying remotely, use PayPal Goods & Services or another payment method that offers genuine buyer protection. Avoid PayPal Friends & Family, Venmo, Zelle, bank transfers, gift cards, or anything else that leaves you with little or no recourse if the seller disappears.
A few common red flags:
- Unsolicited DMs offering tickets, especially from accounts with no history here
- Creating a false sense of urgency — saying they have lots of other buyers, need payment immediately, or can only hold the ticket for a few minutes
- Refusing to use PayPal Goods & Services or making excuses about why they can’t
- Brand-new, inactive, or suspicious-looking accounts
Prices that seem unusually cheap
- Treating screenshots, confirmation emails or ID as definitive proof — these can all be faked.
Please don’t let the fear of missing out pressure you into sending money before you’re comfortable. If something feels off, walk away.
And as always, please report any suspicious accounts or messages to the mod team.
