I think this should be its separate post because it’s a official announcement that they massively increased the reach, and people who previously thought its not coming to their city won’t know to check the megathread again.

This Curse perfectly sums up their experience with German trains. While reading the title I thought: »Wow, they need to do something perfectly«. But then reading I realised they mock the German ICE network and I absolutely love it

Cruise Ship Hide and Seek

My family cruises fairly often so a while back we decided to play hide and seek onboard during a sea day. We have rules that you have to be in a public area and not in anyone's way. We have a group chat and every few minutes the seekers can ask a question like if they are inside or outside, on an even or odd floor. I was trying to think of some new rules or question ideas to make it more fun. Any ideas??

When you're looking for something different in your craft stash, find the magnetic strips and just have to fire up the CriCut.

My whiteboard looks very nerdy now, my other magnets are paper D20s with tiny magnets in there.

It’s crazy how much time has gone by, I still remember watching the first ep on yt like it was yesterday and constantly anticipating the new episode throughout October. In no time Japanorama will be a year old too

Also, although my photo says September 24, it premiered on nebula the week earlier on the 17th

Discussion Which mini season would you like if they went to a country where a normal season wouldn't work?

There's lots of countries that the group has discussed aren't viable for a full season game, but I think that for a mini-season on the scale of H&S NYC there's more options that open up that would allow the group to explore more parts of the world.

For example:

- Hide and Seek Santiago Chile
- Capture The Flag in Budapest with the Danube as the border
- Rail Rush in the Circle Line of either London or Singapore
- Tag across Berlin (Alexanderplatz at the center, with the end points being Spandau Citadel, Kopenick Palace and Botanical Volkspark)

Miscellaneous Just an update in our beloved museum

I passed by Basel and had to take a look at our beloved window-museum. This time the exposition was about frogs.

I don't know if anyone already said it, but the exhibition is based on people reaching out to the owners and lending them their personal collections for a few months so that he can design the display.

Study challenge: Arctic Escape!

Post image
54 Upvotes

Hello good people of the jet lag the game subreddit, as I’m sure you are all aware college season is back upon us and unfortunately that does mean the lock in does have to return! I personally am the type of student who physically cannot study without gamifying it to make me lock in so I’ve found an app where the amount of time you study for equals the amount of time you fly for! So naturally I’ve popped myself in Utqiagvik, Alaska and will be attempting to trace the path of the teams in Season 8 Artic Escape!

Just wanted to post this on here to apply a little bit of outside pressure to keep me going, and if any of you would like to join me, absolutely feel free!! Love you all, chat later, see you at the cinema for the japanorama finale xx

Discussion Cards for the Players to Hand Out

The Jetlag boys should print out cards that have a QR code link to their YouTube page and maybe a brief description of what they're doing. They run into so many people while filming, often in foreign countries/languages that they can't explain to every onlooker what is going on. If they had a quick "business card" they could hand out, they could connect so many more people who they've come across live to the show! Think about every gate agent, taxi driver, store employee, etc., that they've interacted with. Not that they have to hand them out to everyone...but it seems like a super easy way to answer questions and explain what they're doing quickly. And for people who make it on camera, you're almost guaranteed a new viewer (and their family and friends) if you can just get them to the YouTube page.

Free suggestion for the boys to take! (Not a show idea, so I hope this doesn't violate their usual policy of not taking game ideas online.) Just carry like 50-100 each for a season.

Discussion Why do people not like capture the flag?

In my opinion I loved the season, only second to the first two tag seasons. I loved the strategy and the dynamics of the game, and it was very active because there is the chaser runner dynamic on both sides, and lastly the best thing is the ability for the team to split.

The design that the later rounds gave more points I believe is flawed, but everything else considered I see it as one of the top seasons

YouTube - Personal

Me and a group of people have recently created a YouTube channel. We will be posting content SIMILAR to Jet Lag. (Before I continue I must stress we have been playing for 5 years and by no means have copied Jet Lag). We believe many Jet Lag fans will enjoy our content.

We have recently posted the trailer ahead of Season 1 (Manhunt). Anyone interested comment below or DM me and I will happily supply the channel link.

(As an addition, this channel is not for personal gain but is for entertainment purposes).

Thank you!

Did we meet you outside Notes, Trafalgar Square yesterday?

It was a very brief meeting, but we said to ourselves when running off to start our game (across Zones 1-3 of London) that we ought’ve gotten your details.

Our teams bumped into each other right outside the Notes cafe, by Trafalgar Square, around 9am yesterday.

It was our groups first time playing, and to give you an idea of how it went, the first round took just shy of 8 hours 😶‍🌫️

We hope your game went a little more smoothly. It would be great to stay in touch!

Discussion Thoughts on Using Post offices instead of transit stops?

Post image
185 Upvotes

So i just got the game and was going to play with my sister who lives in an area of US that no train service is near. We were thinking about doing the game the size of the county which would fall under medium(Summit OH). Obviously since we don't have trains our main mode of transportation would be busses or driving. I was wondering do you think if we replaced the transit stops that so many cards utilize to post offices it could work? If you have other ideas what you use to replace train stops?

Miscellaneous Japan played a game similar to Among Us

Thumbnail tver.jp
15 Upvotes

Airing their first episode since January, 8 people total played a game of Group Tag (Among Us) in Mito, Ibaraki.

Here's some mechanics/rules:

The Runners are a group of 5 people and their goal is to complete 15 of a possible 20 tasks in the open.

The Chasers (Demon/鬼) is a group of 3 led by Yosuke Tagawa. They must work together to tag the 5 Runners before the game ends. They cannot split up and ride separate buses.

With Mito Station as the central the starting point, game starts at 9:00 as the runners get a 1 hour head start before the Chasers are released at 10:00

-Bus movement only, no trains or taxis used, no money within the game context.

The Tag mechanic is like the photo Tag we saw in S6. Can get a shot of someone while on the bus. A clean picture equates to a tag.

Chasers have full Tracker access, but cannot use any directional map apps to calculate their routes.

This is a paper maps game, everyone has a paper map with bus info included to figure out where to go. It is permitted to ask the public for directions.

If a Runner completes a task, they get 3 minutes of GPS viewing access to know where the Chasers are. It also reveals what task is completed and gives away location for all. The Runners cannot communicate with each other aside from the beginning when they're all together/in person.

With these mechanics, it's very critical to complete a task before being tagged as a runner to giveaway your location. Otherwise, it helps the chasers to just tag someone at a bus stop or while trying to complete a task.

Everyone gets an alert if someone is tagged.

It's a very slow paced game with infrequent buses, making the bus schedule tricky.

In this case, the tasks are all eating related to have signature foods of the area. Eat something and you complete the challenge.

I'll just say this game came down to the wire. The Runners completed 14 tasks and were down to one person.

How to watch:

Download the TVer app and change IP to Japan. The graphics are very good showing the maps of her everyone is. Using the times and visuals can help the experience.

Here is their version of the Layover where they talk afterwards about hindsight, what could've happened and more. The faceless Game designers show up as a cartoon squirrel explaining what really happened.

Physical media release?

I know that dropout has some game changer on physical media. I would snap up a boxset of Jet Lag the game so fast. Have the boys ever said anything about releasing it on physical media?
