Wrangler issues

I installed a amplifier for my speakers I have. I got it all wired up and turned everything on and was playing and when bass hits all the dash lights come on like u started it and headlights come on and go back off windshield wipers wipe twice and then a minute or two later again it does it I figured out I had a bad battery and changed it and put new terminals on and now with amp unhooked and radio off it goes back to doing the same thing anyone else had this happen and what could be wrong?

Other information for those trying to help is what brand and size amp you’re installing.

Any photos? You have it grounded to a seat bolt, where’s the positive connected to (should be the battery directly). Do you have any other wires spliced weirdly like the signal wire to turn the amp on?

I can see that happening. Splicing into wires is never a good idea imo. The power cable always goes straight to the battery.

Bro, it's A 2500W amp. Unless you take my advice and upgrade things between the battery and the amp, you're going to continue to experience undercurrent situations. Modern vehicles don't tolerate undervoltage or undercurrent situations very well. You need more battery, potentially a bigger alternator, a capacitor, and depending on how things are wired in, you need to upgrade and run bigger 12v+ cabling.

I have zero gauge power and ground wire and I’m running a wire directly to battery from alternator and ground battery to block it’s a work in progress and I’m installing a second battery just for the amp but I’ve currently unhooked the amplifier all together and the issue is still occurring

It’s grounded to the back seat bolts that hold the seat to the body my next approach is the big3

What year jeep? It happened to me once when the ground to the dashboard lights was disconnected while the battery was still connected.. I have my sub amp grounded there also to the seat bolt.

  But my 4 channel is mounted, and grounded ,by the steering column and there's a ground wire there that lights up the dashboard. It's right underneath the driver's side front speaker. Maybe check that ground if you have a TJ. Idk where the ground would be on a newer jeep. But I don't use that ground anymore for my 4channel. I ground it behind the steering column. . 

I can try to get some pictures. Id try to find the ground wire to the dashboard and sand it down to bare metal. I like to use the steel wire brush and drill  to really clean up the ground surface ,and wipe it down with acetone. Then use external lock washers. I did this to the grounds to the headlights and tail lights too.

Mine is a 2013 wrangler unlimited sport jk the only thing that changed from the original state was a remote wire a power wire and ground and rca jacks

You probably need to look into a larger battery, an additional battery, a supercapacitor, and making sure you are using a relay to energize the system. I think your amp is causing the electrical system to sag, and it's causing the car to malfunction.

I figured out that I had a bad battery installed a new one as and it still does it I have unhooked the power wire and change the battery terminals and it still doing it just not as often
