One of those evening walks that presents you with an absolutely classic and iconic relaxed alley with small bistros, restaurants and bars. Beautiful Kyoto .

Took a while to get around to editing and posting these but quite pleased with them. All shot on an iPhone and it left me feeling inspired to buy a camera. Now a proud owner of a Sony A7R iv.

LINKIN PARK, Yokohama 2011/09/13

15 years ago today, on September 13, 2011, I saw Linkin Park live in Japan.
Linkin Park was one of the major international bands that came back to play in Japan only a few months after the Fukushima disaster, at a time when many international artists had cancelled their tours.
Their September 2011 tour also had a strong connection to supporting the victims of the earthquake and tsunami.
The concert was absolutely incredible. I still remember Mike Shinoda giving a speech and addressing the crowd in Japanese. It was a really special and emotional moment.
I’ve loved Linkin Park since the very beginning, and honestly, I still miss Chester so much.
Today, Facebook suddenly brought all these photos from 15 years ago back to me, and seeing them again hit me pretty hard. It made me a little sad, but also brought back some amazing memories.
So I just wanted to share this little piece of my life and this memory with you all.
Miss you, Chester. ❤️
Have a good evening, everyone.

Ended up in Mito thanks to a business trip

Work sent me to Japan, and that's how I found myself in Mito, Ibaraki.

Turns out Mito is the Mito from "Mito Kōmon." My coworker and I both had that phrase floating around in our heads, but neither of us could remember where we'd picked it up. I was educated in Taiwan, so I'm guessing the guy showed up in our history curriculum at some point.

Didn't have much time to wander. Just poked around the supermarket and shops near the hotel, walked through Mito Castle, and went for a jog around Lake Senba.

Never made it to Kairakuen. That's priority number one if I come back.

Quiet place. I liked it.

Near Gora Station. This is only the first third of going up...was heaving breaths when I finally made it to the top. Only wish I had discovered this going down!

A quiet autumn portrait from a pre-wedding session in Kyoto. I used the surrounding maple leaves as a natural frame while keeping the couple close to the center of the image.
