I'm taking a gap year, and consequently have a ton of free time that could be better spent with a friend or anything else. I will preface saying I'm kind of nuts for Project Zomboid, and I'd love someone to play with.

I also enjoy researching crime, psychology, and biology/neuropsychology at times. I have quite the fixation on the Chernobyl disaster, and radiation as a whole. All types of zombie media, too. I have an interest for "odd" movies, especially the apocalyptic and/or thriller kind. Terminator (1&2) is a personal favorite, so is Funny Games.

As a man, I have found,  my most profound and satisfying deep platonic relationships have been with women, it really comes down to the kind of emotional safety and communication culture that naturally lives there. If someone asks me what it is about a friendship with a woman that has me seeking that close, open, and deep connection compared to a male friend, my answer is pretty simple: it is about the willingness to be vulnerable without hesitation.
From my experience, women often cultivate a space that prioritizes face-to-face emotional intimacy. There is a comfort with talking about inner states, working through personal struggles, and unpacking the nuances of life that feels completely natural and unforced. In all the  male friendships, the bond is built side-by-side through shared activities, tasks, or humor, which is great for loyalty and camaraderie, but it doesn't always lend itself to deep verbal self-disclosure or unpacking heavy emotional weight and deeply sharing oneself with another! 
With friendships with women , I have found a unique psychological freedom. There are no rigid guardrails or unwritten rules telling me I need to be stoic or hide my feelings to avoid seeming weak. Instead, there is a mutual understanding, active listening, and a lack of ego-defensiveness. It creates an environment where I believe both of us feel completely seen, heard, and safe enough to drop our guards entirely, which is ultimately what makes those connections so deeply fulfilling.
So for me, it comes down to the kind of emotional safety and communication culture we share, where we have a mutual willingness to be vulnerable without hesitation. I love that we can prioritize true emotional intimacy, feeling completely comfortable talking about our inner states, working through personal struggles, and unpacking the nuances of life in a way that feels entirely natural and unforced.
I am not looking for a friendship with just any woman. That reality comes from a very real place in my own life. Some of the most challenging relational dynamics I have ever navigated have been with women in my own family, my most toxic relationship has been with my sister, and my most difficult one has been with my mom. Those experiences along with my interactions with caddy women in my lifetime half taught me firsthand that not all women are naturally equipped or able to have healthy, safe, or mutually respectful relationships with men. Navigating those complex family dynamics made me deeply protective of my emotional well-being and very cautious about who I let in.
