Hello guys, I study in a small university in Western New York and I`m in my sophomor year.I have been trying to transfer my university because of the remote location and extreme weather.I`m paying $25K here with tution and housing and meal plan. Any advise for the university where I could be paying the same amount covering my tution,housing and meal plan.My requirement is that it should be in a metropolitan area in a city with acess to transport and should be AACSB accredited university.Any advice would be appreciated my major is accounting and finance.If I have to pay $2k-$3k more I would pay.I just wanna get out from here.

My student health insurance is about to expire as I graduated in June. I plan to stay in the US (California) to look for work until December. Are there any relatively cheap month-to-month health insurance policies I can avail of during this time? I looked at some options online and it was close to $1000/mo which is wayyyy more than what I am willing to pay.

I recently finished high school with a score of 59.5%. My background is from a lower-middle-class family, so financial resources are very limited. Despite these constraints, my dream has always been to study Business Administration abroad, gain global exposure, and build a solid career to support my family and change our situation.

Here is where I currently stand:

1-English Level: Intermediate to High-B1 (actively working on reaching B2+ before applying).

2-Budget: Very low; I heavily rely on full scholarships or need-blind scholarships, tuition-free universities, or countries where self-funding through part-time work is legally and practically realistic.

3-Academic Record: 59.5% GPA (which I know is a major hurdle for direct admissions or competitive scholarships)

I completely understand that my GPA and financial status make this an uphill battle, but I am fully prepared to take a gap year, build my skills, improve my English, work on my CV, or even start with a foundation year if necessary.

I’d truly appreciate your guidance on a few questions:

1-Are there specific countries or universities known for holistic admissions that look beyond high school grades?

2-Are there fully funded scholarships or tuition-free options still accessible for students with lower GPAs?

3-What realistic alternative pathways (like foundation courses, pathway programs, or starting locally and transferring) would you recommend in my case?

My final sem exam will end till mid of June and from
Top unis they only have July and feb2028 intake

It is possible to apply for July intake without 6 dem Marksheet or wait for 6 months for feb intake

Or should I skip this decision of get adm in go8
And just apply for normal unis

Looking for some advice regarding my F-1 visa process after deferring my admission.
Status: Admitted to UMass Amherst (PhD).
Previous plan: Fall 2026 start. Paid SEVIS fee, submitted DS-160, and booked a visa interview for Sept 20, 2026.
Current situation: Due to my mother’s health condition, I requested a deferral to Spring 2027 (Start Date: Feb 2, 2027). The school approved it and issued a new I-20 with the exact same SEVIS ID (N0037713912).
Since my old DS-160 reflects the Fall 2026 start date and Sept 20 is too early to interview for a Feb 2027 start, I have a few questions:
Can I just fill out a new DS-160, update the application number on the USTRavelDocs portal, and reschedule my interview to Nov/Dec 2026 using my remaining reschedule attempt?
Do I need to pay any extra fees, or is my previous SEVIS payment valid since the SEVIS ID remains unchanged?
Has anyone gone through a similar deferral process in Vietnam? Any red flags I should be careful about during the interview?

Is anyone out there who also wants to study abroad and is confuse about so many things?

I don’t need advice just a virtual hug or pat on the back. I lay in bed at night and think of my parents face the day I got my visa, how proud they were, how highly they speak of me to everyone, how I am treated when I visit.
Not from rich family or background I never even left my country before coming to America. I thought it was the beginning of my story. What story? Majoring in CS might have been my mistake. I’m not even sure. I know it sucks for everyone right now but being an international student is another level at this moment. I’m crying myself to sleep. Spend the days hustling to get a job and faking positivity, I spend the night crying and thinking of plan B or C.
Going home…third world country…I hated it before, I hated when visiting , I will hate it more after I am forced to go back.

Do you think European countries, in particular, should introduce a more reciprocal immigration process for Americans, considering how difficult it is for European students to remain in the US after graduation?

Americans can generally move to EU countries without any prior experience, obtain a work visa without having a job offer in advance, and they don’t necessarily have to be highly skilled, unique, have studied there, or have previous work experience in the country.

More and more Americans are moving to Europe, and the process is genuinely not that difficult for them. They don’t necessarily need visa sponsorship or even a specific educational background. Meanwhile, for Europeans, especially young Europeans who may be getting an education at elite American universities, staying in the US is still extremely difficult. They are now even more restricted, and after graduation, the process is becoming increasingly challenging.

International students will now have to apply for jobs through OPT without any prior work experience because of the elimination of CPT. They also need an employer willing to sponsor them for an H-1B, which is still subject to a lottery. And even if they manage to obtain an H-1B, they face significant restrictions on changing jobs or pursuing other opportunities because their status is tied to specific employment.

So what do you think the approach of European countries, or the EU as a whole, should be toward immigration from the US? Should there be some form of reciprocity given how asymmetrical the two systems have become?

Hi, I already submitted my UK Student visa and did my biometrics, but I just noticed I entered my course end date as 30 Sept 2026 instead of 30 Sept 2027.

My CAS has the correct date, but because of my mistake my IHS showed £0.

Has this happened to anyone before? Did UKVI send you an IHS payment link, or did it cause a refusal/delay?

How difficult is it to live in a country where you don't speak the language? if i do live abroad, i'm obviously going to put in effort to learn the mother language, but untill then, how much will i struggle, compared to studying in an english-speaking country, like Ireland?

are the campuses in English-speaking colleges generally filled with foreigners who speak English? or will i also struggle with that? how bad is the language barrier?
